Just get black screen on Acer Aspire 7520

I'm looking for a solution for this problem for almost 3 months now. My Aspire 7520 when tuned to just gives me a black screen. I took out the battery and held the power button down / stop and always the same. I also made sure that the fan has been free of dust and is runnig and I hear that it is trying to load, and now when I turn it off it is itself so I have to remove the battery all together.

If you get either of the image on an external monitor, it could very well be a video card problem or a problem with the motherboard.  You should contact your local service centre Acer for assistance.

If restore work not and you do not have a Vista DVD from Microsoft, do a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:

Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.

    clint341,
Thanks for posting on the Microsoft Answers forum.  We cannot guide you more precisely by changing the BIOS settings that the BIOS settings are specific to your motherboard.  However, most (if not all) parameters of the BIOS have an option to restore the default BIOS (sometimes called "default opitimized").  It may be an option in the menu that you highlight, then press enter or it can be assigned to an F key and States at the bottom of the screen, press F? for the default settings.  I hope this helps.  If you are still not able to reset, check with the manufacturer of PC for more information about the BIOS. • Desktop do not Come Up - just a black screen.

I had an error in the windows Explorer and windows shows just a black screen.  I am able to open the Task Manager, open the switch user option, etc. After doing ctrl + alt + delete.  Windows does not continue on the desktop. I can't open internet explore via the Task Manager run special command (or go to websites like microsoft support).  The start bar too is not available and no desktop icons appear.  It looks like a problem with a MSWin update.  Help, please.

    I use Windows 6 6002 SP2 on a Toshiba Satellite A200 - 1 M 5.  Thank you

    Hello islem.

    1. what was the error message from Windows explore, that you have received?

2 did you recently install Windows updates on the computer?

    3. do you have security software installed on the computer?

Check if you can access the desktop by typing explorer.exe using the Task Manager.

If you are able to access the desktop, then I suggest that you perform the clean boot procedure and check if it helps.

If you are unable to access the desktop then boot in safe mode then run clean boot.

Start your computer in safe mode

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/start-your-computer-in-safe-mode

Restart the computer to return to normal mode.

Try the steps below to perform the clean boot on the computer.

It is possible that some third-party programs installed on the computer is causing the problem.

To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows Vista or Windows 7 by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

See the link below to learn more about how to clean boot.

    Hello

No saving necessary data and re-installing Windows Vista might be the best option, but here
    are a few others.

You can save your files by putting the drive in another computer as a 2nd disk (best) or external
Drive USB enclosure and then backup to removable media such as CD, DVD or other USB drives.
Of course a real store of the computer or the manufacturer of your system can help to recover the files.

Or you can use a boot Ubuntu CD to back up data.

You can access Mode safe? Repeatedly press F8 as you start? If yes you can try Control Panel
-Double click - Driver tab - click on UPDATE driver - device Manager - map - graph
then right click on the device and UNINSTALL - REBOOT.

A method to try to get to the desktop (try in normal Windows Mode without failure) is CTRL +.
ALT + DELETE - Manager tasks and tab process EXPLORER.exe and COMPLETE the PROCESS on this subject - and then
on the Applications tab - lower right - new task - type in EXPLORER.exe. Safe mode is available by
repeatedly tapping F8 as you start. CTRL + SHIFT + ESC also begins the Task Manager.

Black screen problems are extremely difficult to repair and all hotfix is usually a hit or miss
base. That there is no information on a black screen as there is just a blue screen
adds to the difficulty. Often using a restore point or Startup Repair will have no effect.
You can try a google to see the proposed repairs, whom some have worked however these
cover a wide field of efforts.

Here's a video of one of them.

If necessary and you can access all ordinary Windows.

You can try an In-Place Upgrade (hopefully save programs and data) or a repair installation
(if all goes well, the data records and need to reinstall programs). Don't forget to make a good backup or
    3.

You can use another DVD that aren't copy protected but you you need to own
    Product key.

    On-site upgrade

If nothing works, you can do a repair installation that needs to save the data, but you will
to reinstall the programs. This also requires correct Vista disks especially for OEM versions.
You will need to know your product Code.

My brother and his friend think it is the graphics card, but when I built my new computer black screen continued to occur. If I turn my screen I can see my screen for half a second, and then it just goes black again.

Yes I checked the cables for the monitor, I have even plugged into my laptop, and the same thing happened to the monitor

So I was wondering... What is the cause of the problem? my brother think that theres something wrong with the new parts, I think it's the monitor that is causing the black screen and I have to buy another... What is it?

    Hello

Since the monitor displays the same black screen after connecting to a laptop, this might be a problem with the monitor. Contact the manufacturer of the monitor on this issue.
