Hello

In the United States, you can contact the FBI, Attorney general, the police authorities and consumer
Watch groups. Arm yourself with knowledge.

No, Microsoft wouldn't you not solicited. Or they would know if errors exist on your
computer. So that's the fraud or scams to get your money or worse to steal your identity.

Avoid scams that use the Microsoft name fraudulently - Microsoft is not unsolicited
phone calls to help you fix your computer

Fake phone calls to technical support

    You did the right thing.

Calls unrequested telephone of this nature are almost always a common scam. Do not let them give any info, do not give access to your PC, not give them all the money and do not go to all the websites that they suggest. One moment.

    Please see:

    http://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/security/online-privacy/msname.aspx .

Microsoft issues never not solicited for phone calls of support or security.

These types of callers can use completely fictitious names or bogusly claim to be of real companies other than Microsoft as well.

  • Microsoft never call their users? I just got a call from someone who said they were from Microsoft and he wanted me to run something.

I just got a call from someone who said they were from Microsoft. It was obviously of the India. In any case, he said that there are problems with my computer and it asked me to do something, I would not.  He hung up. He told me to click the button of windows on my keyboard. Then he told me type something in and running. But I refused. I said, how end I call Microsoft and give them your name... HE HUNG UP.

    Hello DianeMcGettigan,

It is simply one of the many scams that are doing the tour.

Unless you have a prepaid support contract with Microsoft, then Microsoft will never contact you by phone, mail or e-mail about problems with your PC. You did while refusing to allow him access to your PC. All they want to do is to have access to your PC, so they can steal personal data (banking etc.) on your part.

    Original title: hoax call?

I just got a call from somewhere in India that I have problems with my computer. They know this, because I have generated error reports. When I asked how I could be sure who they were they led me to a screen with a ref to no error report. and he cites correctly for me. When I was asked to sign up for control of my computer for them to correct these errors, I refused and hung up. What happens with all those errors that we report to microsoft when our computers generate the error reports and how these appellants knew my error report reference.

The appellant had a thick accent of the India.  He told me he was "Web support". I asked him to provide the name of the person he was looking for and he said that he could not because of privacy. He asked me to give him my name and it would confirm.  I did a name Joseph Blough, (but my friends call me Joe) and he said that was the name of the account.  Joe Blow?  Yes agree India Phisherman mister!

He seems to get angry and began to say things like, "man, I am not taliking about the automatic updates, I want to talk about the manual updates, you have to install yourself.  What, you distrust me? "" "You should just say you are suspicious and I'll tell you im for real man! '"  I told her that I was not at home, he called me on a work cell which isn't even me.  I asked her name and number and I would call back and connect to my computer when I arrived at my office.  He provided the following: (972) 665-6268 x 1101 and he said his name was Chris.

People, I don't call the number because I know he's a crook at work.

They are not Microsoft partners and your refusal was very wise.

It's a scam and with various names and phone numbers, is
    becomes more common lately.
In addition to their money get on your part to do anything of any value,
If you leave them in your computer, which knows what losses they did are
    where confidential information they stole.

So if you have done so, I highly recommend that you do both of the following
    immediately:

1 do a clean reinstall of Windows.

    2. change all of your passwords, especially banks or other
    financial sites.

  • Just got a call from "India", I think, telling me that my computer has thousands of problems and willing to buy a security at a cost of $250.00 permit. Is this really from Microsoft?

I did not understand everything what the gentleman said to me.  He kept insisting that I have purchase a license of security.  I finally told him I had no free $ 250.00 and asked him to return my computer to how he found it.

He began to tell me that I was apparently the Registrant for windows (bad) and I was loading the garbage in the back on the ground, when I tols him would not discuss anything over the phone with someone when I could not check who they were he got snotty with me  I told her to remove my number from their database and if they called again I account him for harassment... and then he raised his voice so I said how dare you call me at 8:30 in the morning and holler at me!

Needless to say that the number was not available when I tried to back ring

I got a call from "Microsoft Security", informing that my computer has been hacked and tried to get me a "pin" entry that they would provide. The number is 253-220-7222, but I was not called again.
