Just installed Windows 7 and no processor...

I just installed Windows 7 on my computer after Vista, only to find out that there more Microsoft Works on it.  Is there a way to retrieve my disks Vista CPU?  Or it would be a legal second option: my son also had a similar computer that it has installed Linux on (he is recently rid of this computer) but we have a Microsoft Works 8.5 disc bracket provided with this computer. Sorry if this is a stupid question... I'm a little computer not disputed - no surprise, huh!

Windows Vista didn't work either, it was delivered without doubt as a bonus to all that the company you bought the computer (either as a special offer, or you paid for it in the comprehensive agreement).  But whatever it is, works is never automatically part of Windows, it is always sold separately.

The works disk that came with another computer is technically only authorized for a computer (in most cases, check to see if there is a sticker that says cases so on the CD).  It's not say specifically, you can install it on your new computer.  Technically, you could probably anyway, but that it would not be "allowed" by the rules... and I can't recommend that you break all the rules :)

But besides that, you may want to consider Office 365.  It has 3 options:

  1. Free web version (go to office.com to use Word, Excel, PowerPoint, all for free, anytime).
  2. Family version (allows you to install the complete programs on up to 5 computers/phones/tablets)
  3. Personal version (allows you to install the complete programs on a single computer)
