    • Although the recommended minimum requirements are 16 GB (32-bit), 20 GB (64-bit), if you upgrade from a previous version of Windows or a previous version, you will need to have at least 40-50 GB of free space to accommodate the installation files.
    • First run Disk Clean up.
    • Archive files rarely used to an external hard drive.
    • Consider data synchronization to OneDrive or similar online service and do a custom installation.
    • Turn off (preferably uninstall) your Antivirus utility before you perform the upgrade.
    • Disable the general USB peripherals (for example - smart card reader).
    • Do a clean boot, and then try again.

  • Application Plugin error - could not find the entry Point (48::72)

    Hi all

Anyone who bought my plugin has reported these errors when applying:

    invalid filter (25::3)

could not find the main entry point for myplugin.plugin (48::72)

They use CS6 on Snow Leopard on a Mac Pro 3.1 10.6.8 so this should work very well (the effect was compiled as a 64-bit using the latest XCode plugin, the Mountain Lion 10.8.5).

I was wondering if anyone here has had this problem, and how they have solved.

    Thank you!

    Christian

We managed to repro this on a machine running OS x 10.7.

It turns out that it was probably due to one of the two parameters of generation in XCode:

Basis of SDK, that I put OS X 10.9, and (most likely) OS X deployment target, which is the default value for the compiler. By reducing the Base SDKS to 10.8 and setting the target of 10.5 deployment. This fixed the problem on the machine 10.7.

Waiting for the user who reported the problem to confirm the re-compiled version works on his workstation. However, I thought that I would put the solution here, just in case someone else has this problem in the future.

    Hi rdoran,
You perform the steps from the administrator account?

To determine which files can be repaired by the System File Checker tool, follow these steps:
    Step 1:

NOTE: When SFC is running, it records its actions in the C:\WINDOWS\LOGS\CBS\CBS. NEWSPAPER. You can find specific entries of SFC searching [SR] tags in the newspaper.

For how, see the SFC analysis details in the CBS. JOURNAL:

    * Open an elevated command prompt.

    * In the elevated command prompt, type findstr/c: "[SR]" %windir%\logs\cbs\cbs.log > %userprofile%\Desktop\sfcdetails.txt and press ENTER.

    * Close the elevated command prompt.

    * Click the sfcdetails.txt file just set your desktop to see the SFC scan details (those with the tags [SR]) to the CBS. NEWSPAPER.

    * You can safely delete the sfcdetails.txt file later if you wish.
Reply back with the details in the log file.

If it does not help to complete the scan, you can complete the steps below and check out them.

You're able to boot in safe mode ?

    Step 2:

For more information on how to log in to safe mode, see the following Microsoft article:

If you're able to boot in safe mode, you can perform a scan of the file system (CFS) auditor.

How to use the System File Checker tool to fix the system files missing or corrupted on Windows Vista or Windows 7

    Step 3:

In addition, you can connect to the command prompt and check the drive for errors, and check if that makes things more simple.

At the command prompt, type the following command and press ENTER:

    Chkdsk /r

Note: If bad sectors are detected when running check disk utility and attempt recovery of bad sectors is verified during the verification of the drive for errors, data in the bad sector can be lost as they tried to recover bad sectors.

  • I installed Windows 7 not genuine, I need to activate it, but I could not find the product key

    * Original title: product key

I installed Windows 7 not genuine, I need to activate it, but I could not find the product key. Could someone guide me please.

If you can't find the product key, you will need to buy a new one:

You can find software OEM System Builder of dozens of online merchants. The current price for OEM Windows 7 Professional Newegg, for example, is $ 140. When I checked a few minutes ago, Amazon offered packages OEM Windows 7 Professional from several vendors at prices ranging from $ 101 to $ 150. When I checked earlier, a package specifically designed for reconditioned PCs cost only $ 50 for a 64-bit copy.

There is no technical limitation to prevent you from using OEM software on your computer, although this software only works for a clean install, not an upgrade. In the past, Microsoft has been remarkably inconsistent in his advice to clients on the question of whether this practice is allowed. (See "is allowed to use Windows OEM on your own PC? Don't ask Microsoft. »)

  • Windows 7 Installer error "Setup could not use the existing system partition because it does not contain the required free space.

Repeatedly tried to install the upgrade to windows 7 and pure install and get the error message on all partitions available "Setup could not use the existing system partition because it does not contain the required free space.  All 3 partitions on a single disk have over 90 GB and separated from the disc more than 65 GB of free space according to the properties of the disk and initial screen during installation.  Tried to reformat a partition empty all reinstall Xp sp3 without result.  What can I do?

Remove the data cable of all drives except the drive that you want to install Windows 7 on.

    Remove all external devices.

Delete all partitions on the disk leave all of the disc as "unallocated".

Boot from the Windows 7 DVD and then install, when you reach the point where it asks you to select a drive, click the "Advanced" option and create a new partition (at least 50 GB) to install Windows and continue with the installation process.

  • "Could not find the main class" Java error on Windows 7, but not Windows XP

    Hi all

It's the first app I try to package and virtualize with ThinApp.

It is an old business application that usually runs on Windows XP SP3 x 86.

The. MSI that I generated with Thinapp works very well when it is installed on a Windows XP SP3 x 86.

However, our main goal to use Thinapp is to install on a Windows 7 SP1 x 64.

But in doing so, the application triggers a Java Virtual Machine Launcher error message saying: "could not find the main class. Program will exit. »

I thought that it was because the app includes a 1.4.2 JVM and that my XP has not any JVM pre-installed, but the main image on my W7 has a 1.7 JVM. But even after I uninstalled the 1.7 and installed JVM 1.4.2 on the W7 machine, I kept getting the error message so I guess that it is not bound.

Y at - it an option that I missed during my MSI generation so that it can run on a Windows 7 x 64?

Thank you all for your help.

    D.

With the help of Lachi, we found that the app natively works on W7, no need for ThinApp it if the goal is just to make it work on W7, from a XP world.

The only change we had to make (and the error was the same ThinApp-ed, which is what I originally shared) is that the application should work with Windows 7 in "classic" mode "of the screen (without Aero and the menu start XP-style). This is because the application runs an old integrated version of Java (1.4) and it makes the system calls seeking specific .dll to display, which are not accessible by default if Aero is enabled.

Please answer with repair options and details on where to go to get there.

If safe mode can't complete, it can be continuous malware (run malwarebytes) so clean, you will probably have to run a repair installation.

Please download the free version of Malwarebytes.
    Update immediately.
Do a full scan of the system

  • I'm trying to upgrade to windows 7 Vista but not like the 40 GB c: partition has only 3 GB free.

TRY TO UPGRADE TO WINDOWS 7 BUT C: DRIVE FULL DESPITE THE REMOVAL OF ALL UNNECESSARY PROGRAMS

I'm trying to upgrade to windows 7 Vista but not like the 40 GB c: partition has only 3 GB free. Removed all unnecessary programs, etc. If you only really have Vista on C: drive but still showing 37GB used. Any ideas how I can release another 6 GB of free space.
    Tahnks a lot

I hate to say it, but it would be a great time for a bigger hard drive.  While 40 GB meets at least for installation you really need more for in-place-upgrading a system using 37 GB.  Setup needs space for temporary files, its own temporary relocation, etc.
