K1000-K2000

Hello, I am new here and has never owned a Lenovo product before. I've also never owned a thinkpad when it was under IBM, well that always wanted a. I'm salivating on the W530, but it's way too big for me carry around, I went to the portable solution extra and ordered a thinkpad Tablet 2 with the bluetooth keyboard. While I'm waiting for my order to arrive, I figured that I would you guys ask a question. What is the difference between video cards K1000 and K2000? What some shaders more, pipes etc.? Why the W530 series uses no cards video Quatro series instead of something like the GTX or Radeon series. Serial card Quatro repeats better for applications such as CAD, Photoshop and Solidworks? When I look at the specs, they still seem slower than first order enthusiast cards, although more expensive. I've never understood the reasoning. I know that they have signed drivers but don't really know what signed drivers are or why they are so important. If someone can explain to me, I'd appreciate it.

Yes. The Quadro cards tend to outperform their GeForce on CAD and Solidworks equivalents. Photoshop not so up to CS5 as it was mainly due to the CPU. CS6 has considerably more GPU acceleration.

Quadros also tend to be better silicon, AFAIK.

  • Quadro K2000 mercury hardware Acclerated encoding

    Hello

I have a question about hardware acclerated encoding with a Nvidia Quadro K2000.

We got a video clip we want to encode in 720 p H264. Graphics card has been recognized by the first, first himself spent the correct hardware acclerated encoder.

However, it does not, is not Visual coding unless I select the encoder software. Driver is downloaded from Nvidia site again.

There is no error message, it just goes to the display of progress bar and after that: nothing, no progress at all, no file is written to disk.

Any ideas? Are there drivers special neeeded? Is the map not supported even though it is listed as a supported?

Just to summarize: after adding more ram, more cards graphics best CPU, HDD plus, the solution was as follows:

Delete logo eps still of the movie file and replace them with a jpeg.

The strange thing here, is that sometimes the encoding was fine with the IP. Now, after having removed the eps, it encodes each time...

So, I have been looking around for more information on adding a second HDD/SDD in my model of laptop computer on the web, but can't find anything on my specific model. Many places say K-series laptops have only one hard drive Bay, and that you use a hard drive caddy optical Bay. Moreover, I found videos of very similar models being dismantled, which seem to have only room for 1 hard drive. However, I was told to support twitter HP want all 17 have 2 hard drive slots. Can I get a confirmation, just to be sure?

    Hey @MrMdr,

Thank you for visiting the HP Forums! A place where you can find solutions for your problems with the help of the community!

I stumbled upon your post on the laptop and wanted to help you! I looked in your question about your Notebook HP ENVY - 17 t - k200 CTO, model #K2Z68AV and concerns with the second span. Looking to 256 GB SATA m2 (MLC) that could be used for storage only. It is a hard drive, but it fits differently than the main hard drive. Hereis a link to your manual page 2 which shows the specifications.

It shows you how to install this on page 68 of the manual.

Please let me know how it goes.

  • Any idea when NVIDIA K2000 and K4000 will be available?

I bought these cards for two new machines based on the promotion on the website NVIDIA for Adobe Premiere and After Effects, only to receive the built machines, cards and installed software and oops, no recognition of Adobe products.  Anyone has any idea if these tips are evaluated by Adobe for inclusion?  I need to know to shoot and get the former 2000 and 4000 (no K designation).  I hate having to come down for a week, if that could be coming soon.

However, after the execution of his program, a file that had rendereded in 1 h 30 in my old system (with the GTX580) took 3 hours and 25 minutes with the unrecognized Quattro and is currently scheduled to take 5 hours and 10 minutes with the recognized Quattro card.

Do a test project very simple and short with a video file that is 'well known' with a 'well-known' resolution and codec, for example an MPEG2 1080 p 30. Run tests coding / made on machines, note settings and time on each race.  Swap the GTX 580 and Quadro K4000 between both, install the drivers, rerun the tests. Let us know what you find.  If the results are as expected - for example the new system is faster - then something is fishy with your source and/or project files.

  • Thanksgiving Deal W530DB

    Hello

Maybe it's a bit random, but I wonder if anyone here has the data sheet for the W530DB Doorbuster deal on Thanksgiving (November 29) 2013? It was a limited case of a 39% percent off the coast day. As I tried to look for the details now, I only managed to find the price at the request of the coupon was $1 349 (of an original price of about $2,200).

I was surprised by such a good deal that day, but because it costs $ 300 above my budget, I opted for the doorbuster on T530 finally matter. So, this is not a technical question and is fairly random, but y at - there someone here who bought in or took note of the agreement and has a detailed specifications of the W530DB this day there?

    Thanks galore.

I didn't do it, but it was probably a preconfigured machine. Most Black Friday deals are not for personalized offers (i.e. CTO) and are not top of the line models.

At that price, it would not have had the FHD, would have had the K1000 graphics not K2000 and would not have had the sensor of Pantone color or upgraded wireless antenna. It was also probably of them with only two slots for memory instead of four, without RAID and probably no backlit keyboard. To get the above options, a machine would be of the order of 1600.

Unless you specifically need graphic card for something, then you have an amazing machine already. I highly recommend upgrading to a quality SSD or mSata SSD to the more sensitive machine. And if you got the T530 with FHD screen, don't look back because I had rather the T530 with display than the W530 without.

  • HP xw6600: How does your match at Passmark Software HP workstation?

    Anthony K.

While some video editing - Adobe Prieimere 2014 and programs such as After Effects can benfit of multiple cores, in many cases, the efeiciency pic is still 5-6 carrots. A Xeon E5 system would be the best a first version can burn out a 8-core, has a SATAIII and USB 3 controller.

It is surprisingly affordable with a little shopping of vigilance.

Examine the value of the sales of your HP xw6600 and adding the alowance upgrade.  the maximum price for a HP xw6600 complete is about $ 350, but if your sysrtem of a median of about $250 and $250, another was avaialable there are plenty of options, including a z420 with a 4-core E5-1620 (3.6 3.8 GHz) >sold for $250.  The K2000 is that the particular system is a great GPU for your use. That system would be as there is quite a bit faster than your current system and have a Xeon E5 LGA2011, for only $70-80 which could become an E5-2670 8 - core @ 2.6 3.3 GHz.   Over time, the remaining budget could add a good SSD 250 GB as a Samsung 850 Evo - $80 and a WD Blue ITB - very good show $50.

In my opinion, this approach - even if it meant a z420 buying and waiting for upgrade is a better tactic in the long term than the upgrade of the xw6600.

The highest appreciation xw6600 183 tested:

    Rating: 2609

    CPU: 8101

    2D: 482 (Radeon HD 6870)

    3D: 2765

    MEM: 826 (16GB)

    Disc: 5115 "Volume 0" - a RAID 0 disk unknown

In comparison, there are 21 z420/E5-1620 / Quadro K2000 on the PassMark, top rated systems are:

    Assessment: 3798

    CPU: 9253

    2D: 820

    3D: 1658

    MEM: 1973 (8GB)

    Disc: 4491 (Crucial MX100 512GB)

So a specification very moderate, $250 is already very well against the best xw6600 z420.

Condidering what the cost of the Radeon HD 6870 and MX110 Crucial is the same added to any system, the cost / performance is best when added to the z420 and future potential with regard to a 8-core processor makes the future z420 much more and with a good best resale back when buying the nest system.

    See you soon,.

  • Windows side

    I have thinkPad W530 with i7 Processor 3740 and nVidia K1000.

Note windows show only 6.6 while my friend has T530 with only the Intel graphics but its rating is 6.7

    Anyone know what's the problem?

Ratings are for the most part useless, because your number is exactly equal to the lowest number on the sides. Discrete switching only simply forces Windows to use only the chip nVidia for ratings purposes. In normal use the machine will run on the built-in processor and then use the chip from nVidia for graphics intensive programs. This gives you the best balance of heat, performance and autonomy.

What are the various subscores you and your friend?

  • GPIB-USB-HS works selectively

    Situation

-an old HP3962A works very well using a PCI-GPIB connector on a PC. Code of Labiew.

-a digital Voltmeter K2000 works well using a hub of GPIB-USB-HS, on a laptop. Laview code.

    Problem:

NIMAX does not recognize the HP3962 when you use the GPIB-USB-HS hub, on the laptop, although it recognizes seveal other instrument, such as the K2000 dvm.

    Thanks for the suggestions, Philippe

After having removed the long 1.5 m GPIB cable and linking the GPIB-USB-HS unit directly to the old HP3562A unit, NIMAX recognizes this instrument (low level).

Direct com on NIMAX does not, but the LabView code (old) written to read the data works.

The bus speed was maybe the question.

Resolved for now, thanks to you all.

Will there be smart labels/groups as in the K1000

    Hi William,.

Please contact us, groups K1 smart feature to group devices based on certain criteria, so it's easier to filter is a great idea.

We have already implemented something similar management Mobile where you can filter devices based on their type (for example devices Android, iOS, Windows Phone etc), see below:

  • Windows 7 and NVMe Imaging issues

    Hi all

I looked around the forums to see if anyone has come across this problem.

When I image of the K2000 on any system that has a player of NVMe (AIO 7440 Optiplex, Latitude 7470). My Imaging speed is horribly slow. I have the image via a gigabit connection and I only see speeds of 10-15MBps. I tested with older machines using the SATA interface, including those that use SSD and my speed can reach about 100-200 Mbit/s.

A number of things that I have tried-
I've recreated environments KBE repeatedly. I use WINPE 10 Driver pack.
Network administrators have verified that there is no problem of network with the K2000.
I installed Windows 7 with integrated NVME drivers and no problem.

I believe it has something to do with the boot environment not having not NVMe drivers. I found the drivers NVMe I could include in the boot environment, but I wanted to see if anyone has seen this issue.

I created a custom Windows 7 disk using the text instructions.
    support.Software.Dell.com/.../185551

    Thank you
    Roland C.

    And I thought about it...

    Download the following drivers of NVMe - 8863.Samsung + is + driver.zip
When you download the driver from WINPE 10 Pack (I'm sure you could do that with 5 of WINPE and 4 versions), unzip it and copy the NVMe drivers in the storage folder. Create the new boot environment by using the K2000 Media Manager. Once created, start K2000 and the image of the machine. You will see the difference immediately. In my case, my Imaging speed went from 10 Mbit/s about 350Mbps.

These drivers only work for Samsung NVMe readers who are being installed on all of the latest machines (AIO 7440 Optiplex, Latitude E7470, etc.), this disc is an option that is available when you customize the machine. I believe that you can still buy active SATA drives, then you won't have to worry about this problem. It may be useful
