  • Update KB2446708 has repeatedly failed to install, citing 66A error code.

Optional updates succeeded where this is important and some recommended to those who do not. Help and troubleshooting suggestions were followed, but in vain. Is there a way to delete all updates failed and regain some lost speed, not to mention allow updates installed?

    Hi Ed,

First try the solution at this link: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=9cfb2d51-5ff4-4491-b0e5-b386f32c0992&displaylang=en&lc=1033.

If this does not work, remove Microsoft .net Framework 4.0 using the .NET Framework Cleanup tool http://blogs.msdn.com/b/astebner/archive/2008/08/28/8904493.aspx.  And then reinstall the Microsoft .net Framework 4.0 http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=0a391abd-25c1-4fc0-919f-b21f31ab88b7&displaylang=en and then install the update, you are having problems with.

If this does not work, try resetting update (including a fixit) components: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971058

If this does not work, try a manual download by putting the KB numbers who fail looking here: http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/default.aspx and download them directly and see if it works.

If this does not work, go to C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution and remove content (but not the folder itself) and then restart.  See if that helps.

Remove updates failed won't find you any lost speed - although if it could be done, it might be useful save you some space (assuming that all who uploaded was saved even if it has failed).  It also will not help install new updates.  It's a totally different question that hopefully will solve the above.  If a solution works for some but not for all of them, then try the other options to see if they can help as well in terms of everything attaches.

If this does not help, please repost in the forum for the correct Windows version from: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_update?page=1&tab=all&tm=1300700638376.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • 46 and counting, success of the installations of update KB2446708 last month.

What intrigues me is that I see 46 facilities that were completed successfully on the history of windows update, but when I go to my control panel to display the installed updates so that I can remove the extras, there is no facility for KB2446708 showing at all, NO!  It seems to me that something STINKS!  Can't Microsoft do things about more? Of course, if the update does not appear in my programs then it will continue to find missing and keep the installation until I have run out of space.  If I could send you some screenshot, you would see the contradion that I face.  What can I do to get out of this temporal causality loop?

  • MacBook Pro hard repeated panics of the kernel

    Hello

I knew panic the kernel repeated on my MacBook Pro (retina, 15 inch, mid-2014). In general, a piece of software will be "quit unexpectedly" a few times (Web Safari, Mail, Finder content). Then, randomly, the system will be completely freeze two seconds and restart.

I tried running with the system in Mode safe, but panicking kernel continue to hinder. Then I erased the hard drive and reinstalled the new El Capitan (and later upgrade to Sierra). I continued to experiment with these error messages and panics of the kernel, which I can only assume means that I have a hardware problem.

I take the unit to a Genius Bar next week, but in the meantime, I was wondering if someone could look over panic report and identify a possible cause? I have never added or changed everything - the MacBook is exactly as it was when I bought it.
