    Hi ChristineBurda,

    1. are you able to correctly install the other updates?

    2. have you done any hardware changes or software on your computer before this problem?

This problem occurs when one of the following conditions is true:

    (a) an error has occurred during installation. The update has not been installed.

    (b) the update has been installed. However, a file was not updated to restart the computer.

You can follow this link & check if it helps:

  • Windows offers several times three updates: KB2518864, KB2633880, KB2572073

How to stop what is happening?

Windows provides three updates on several occasions: they say KB2518864, KB2633880, KB2572073 they have updated successfully THREE times in the history of my update. I ran MS troubleshooting three times. It has not solved the problem. I ran douja and it found no malicious software or problems. I also ran Spybot which also did not find any malware, etc. issues. I have currently Macaffee running also which did not find anything. In the meantime, I'm always offered the same three updates. Really annoyed with it now.

I get 80073712 and 800 b 0100 error codes when you try to update for Windows Vista (KB968389),

Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 and .NET Framework 3.5 Family Update (KB951847) x 86, and update for Windows Vista (KB975467) ISecurity. I tried the patch but no luck.  How can I download these updates?

Download and run the system update tool.

    Try to install updates again.

Note After you run the tool, the Checksur.log file is located in the following location:

    %SystemRoot%\Logs\CBS\

In a default installation of Windows Vista, this file is located in the following folder:

    C:\Windows\Logs\CBS

A general solution, *IF* is no malware problem, would be to run the system update tool.

  • Installation says 'successful', however, same updates needs to install over and over again. (KB2518864, KB2633880 & KB2572073)

    Hi all

original title: install said 'successful', however, same updates needs to install over and over again.

Hope everyone is doing well.  This just happened this morning and try to find solutions but seems I can't find the right one.
So I got the "shield of Microsoft", letting me know that I have some new updates available.
    1. Update for .NET Framework 2.0 SP2 and 3.5 SP1 on Windows Server 2003 and Windows XP x 86 (KB2518864)
    2. Update for Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 SP2 on Windows Server 2003 and Windows XP x 86 (KB2633880)
3 security update for Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 SP2 on Windows Server 2003 and Windows XP x 86 (KB2572073)
I installed the following updates and he "succeeded".  A few minutes later, the shield pops up again asking me to install the SAME updates.  I did it again and once more "managed".  A few minutes later, the shield popped up again (same updates).  This time, I installed it, my computer re-setting, however, the same updates need to be installed again.  I'm ignoring the shield right now.
Thoughts on that?  This means - it is NOT installed correctly?  How can I fix it?
I have a netbook, Windows XP laptop.
    Thank you.

    Hello

It seems to be a mess of some sort on the server. Until that which is high to the square correctly, follow these steps.

We will empty the download folder.

Start > typeRegeditdans cmd & press enter

    type in
    net stop wuauserv

    OUTPUT

NB. which temporarily stops the automatic windows update service. Your next restart of Windows, it will be again.

    Go to Windows Explorer.
Look on your system (usually C) drive and see the name of the Windows folder. Like Windows or WINNT.
    Edit following as appropriate.
If your Windows folder is C:\Windows. Look at this file
    C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution\download

If you find files in there, remove them. This file is where the Windows Update files are stored downloads.

    Points:

    (1) I only wanted to read this:

.... Then, I found that the update had apparently been installed months ago ...

    (a) you can rename the folder C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution, but much better is used this FixIt:

Perhaps this might help and updates would not be on the list of the automatic updates because they are already installed.

    (b)-

    (2) is OK, how I already wrote - "gmreadme.txt" - is only a txt file.

Try looking in history ofupdatesif updates are already installed.

Says Windows usually updates installed and ready to turn it back on - it did not.
The new window updates, explains all the updates above are available and does not seem to recognize that they have already been "installed".
Suddendly machine may not be used, any open window says "not responding".
Tried to install the updates again, but same as above.
    Restart the computer.
I got Thunderbird open and does not and used Firefox to try to access this forum.
Firefox picked up trying to open on this forum and said not reponding.
Same as above, nothing had changed and unable to use what whatsoever.
Uninstalled all the above recent updates.
    The machine works again instantly.
Open Firefox to access forum, he reported problems with the last session on this site and so I started a new session.
    Everything works well and fast.

If I look at 'review your update history'
All the updates mentioned above are presented as successfully installed twice.
If I look at "the new updates are available," all the installed and then uninstalled updates are listed.

So before I try to install the updates listed above again, what known problems are there regarding their.
Why do you have the "check updates insist I had not installed?"
Why updates has not asked to restart the computer?
Why install the updates above make it impossible to use any programs?

However, if an error occurs during the installation of .NET Framework 3.5, please take a screenshot of the error message:

  • Repeatedly asked to install Flash 11 on IE 9 Windows Home Premium 64 bit

My admin account - I install the latest version of Adobe Flash Player 11.  Everything works fine (in this same admin account) until a reboot of the system.  Can I receive messages from sites indicating that they want me to install Adobe Flash.  I do and all is well until you restart.

I followed all the instructions on the Adobe main troubleshooting pages of uninstall, reboot, reinstall, reset through the removal of the files to run %appdat%\Adobe - Flash file and %\Macromedia and then uninstall, restart, reinstall etc.

Yet once, I get a successful installation message and everything works well until you restart.   It seems that many users have had this problem, but I have not found a clean answer. Thanks in advance for your ideas.

I followed a suggestion and downloaded and run Secunia PSI and found no earlier version of Flash Player installed.  I also have Adobe CS 5 Suite installed. I also started to receive messages from HP Software Solution it would not operate until the latest version of Adobe Flash is installed.  I uninstalled the HP pending resolution software.  Uninstall and reinstall Flash failed after having removed the HP software either.

Thank you all for your suggestions.  In response:

    (1) flash didn't become disabled after reboot - it is stayed "validated".

    (2) was running 64-bit IE, no difference with 32-bit or another browser.

    (3) authorities seem to be good in all folders Flash->, BUT they were not correct on the parent folder

% appdat%\Macromedia. Maybe the indications "clean uninstall" supposed to delete this folder.  I did make them say delete the contents of this folder.  I changed the permissions to more extended to all users, followed by cleaning rights uninstall directions then did a reinstall complete and solved the problem.

    Thanks again.

  • NET Framework 2.0 and 3.5 updates detected repeatedly, KB2633880, KB2572073 and KB2518864

It seems that I lived this same problem with Windows Update services month last in terms of detection repeatedly updates.  This time they appear as essential.  My computer on my wireless network is running Windows 7 64 bit Home Premium Edition, which does not show updates available at this time.  The problem is now on my XP - Pro, also running IE8.  The three current updates, KB2633880, KB2572073 and KB2518864 have installed three times since my troubleshooting steps to fix the Windows updates detection did not work.  I ran so far, the cleanup tool NET Frame and Safet Scanner from Microsoft, which withdrew a piece of malware.  This is getting monotonous!  Microsoft has a solution?

Now that I have reinstalled 931125, this update does not reocurr under Windows Update.  So what I had to do was hide remaining ones I didn't install.  For now, until the next question, Windows Update seems to work normally.
