Hi, I got 100% usage cpu choking my system Toshiba laptop L300 Vista 32-bit, cause - (netsvcs) svhost.exe in time real trouble was unknown and tried everything has failed. So I did a complete new installation and fully updated to SP2 then the next update and it required me to download the latest update to terminant.256. My system is now unusable with constantly check and update svchost.exe using 100% cpu. All is well until I start to WU and I restore prior to this Windows Update Agent... Also if I close just the update it is still short in the background using 100% cpu by svchost.exe (ntsvcs) until I have manually stop the service.
I have:
Disabled Windows Firewall and Avast antivirus.
I tried all the things as well in safe mode.
Installed costs.
Followed the instructions found on the net
In offline mode, downloaded and installed the latest update which is the same as that.
Whenever I have restore before this update, it works very well. The download of the update even if I have restore and install only the off-line version, it cripples even with 100% cpu and without end of audit. He made also Defender without end of audit.
How to fix something that is a solid wall. You cannot uninstall or go around it. If I restore before it, that's all I can ever be updated Vista.
I admit, I'm going nuts with this thing. I can't be the only one, it is 100% Windows update agent question.
They have started to issue updates, default update clients cannot manage. Under Vista, install all the missing updates listed in the table above to this page:
On Windows 7, install KB3172605.

check for windows update problem
A few weeks ago, I upgraded my windows 7 windows 10 but because of some problems of material in the pointing device that I've once again to windows 7. After going back to windows 7, I restore my computer to its original factory State and then I checked Windows update, but it is always looking for update, it got stuck.
Please help me for the above problem.

Windows 7 still holding to Patch - July 2016
Recently (in the last few months) during the construction of new machines (Windows 7) windows ' check for updates ' does not work. It just sits there, looking for updates...
Wait 24 hours for the patch, or in some cases have patch won't EVER happen, I started to wonder.
WHAT HAPPENED TO SERVICE PACKS?
Microsoft designed a system of correction which is ineffective and useless. Then why can't I just roll the last service pack?
Install Windows 7 SP1 Rollup July 2016 (KB3172605) does nothing to solve my problem. He's sitting there "looking for patches" for hours and hours.
Seriously what is happening? Microsoft starts to look like a company that cannot trust your security, because their patching mechanism is useless.
Hello world
Happy to say that this is the solution you need (which worked for me):
1. set the correction to "never check patches".
2. download/install Internet Explorer 11. (IE11 Windows6. 1 - x 64 - en) & restart the PC
3 download/install KB3020369 & restart the PC
4 download/install KB3172605 & restart the PC
5 run a check of patches manually.
6. it should now scan for patches and return quickly (10-30 minutes)
Happy patching!

Windows 7 (64 bit) standalone update installer crashes or is missing from my laptop
I reinstalled a fresh copy (original image) of Win7 (64 bit), the update to SP1 using Windows Update and try to install (based on the recommendations of Microsoft of 'most downloaded' website):
KB947821 - analysis tool
KB3108210 - update to Win7 for x 64 systems
KB2670838 - platform for Win7 x 64 update
So far all attempts have failed - my laptop it's there for always with the screen (this one below shows KB947821):
I would appreciate any advice, suggestions or advice to solve this dilemma.
Thanks in advance.
Oops. I took the wrong number KB. It is KB3020369 that must be installed before KB3172605.

Windows 7: stuck on "checking updates...". »
Before you answer, keep in mind that I tried the following things:
1.) downloaded and installed "WindowsUpdateDiagnostic.diagcab" so that the system is set. It did not work.
2.) tried the selected responds Vinod Mr proposed on this page. It did not work. (This is to turn the update services / BITs, renaming 2 slots to * .old, and then turn the services turn it on to reattempt the update checking.)
(3.) I also tried the approach of the selective startup with my Symantec Endpoint Protection and this is to switch off the corresponding services. It did not work also.
This has been the most frustrating experience I had with Windows 7. I do all this in order to update my display drivers, but to do this, I have to make sure Windows is up to date... who apparently can't do because it gets stuck on "checking for updates... »
Can someone, maybe Bill Gates himself, please shine light on it and help out a young man?
Thanks in advance.

Fresh installed win 7 pro does not get updates.
Help!
You need KB3020369 and KB3172605. The rollup of convenience is an offering as an option for the shortening of the procedure to update from 2011 to 2016.
But automatic updates must have the value "Never search updates" until 3172605 is installed.

I did a very stupid thing, I got hacked
I did a full OEM disks sys restore. My problem is that I can't download MS updates updates update runs indefinitely. My ram is @ 66% generally use 20 to 30 percent. I got the new update agent or if my sys SEZ, but no updates where came next. I ran it for 20 hours.
I have re installed my ESET smart security av software running at the most intense found nothing level analyses. the same with win defender & malwarebytes nothing yet. It seems that just the MS Update site is somehow. I had to do an install the IE 11 offline. Unable to receive ms updates. I alone am to blame for this problem. Windows Update problem "error 70490.
A few months ago, my 7 years old Windows 7 update screen is changed while I was watching. The new screen said he had never had updates and had never checked the updates. News for me! I tried: auditor of the system files, the tool update system, KB3172605, KB3020369, 70057, Agent update, stand-alone install all to nothing does not. System diagnostic tests I run Windows Update show 70490 error, a mistake of service record and SURLog.cab problems and RC data store. The report shows that they are not fixed by the test on the first screen, but are fixed on the second screen, but still Windows Update won't never checked and never had updates. I had no updates since July 18. Help!

Problem of update and Windows 7 Professional
I have windows 7 Professional, and in the last two months, I noticed that only one or two updates of many of those who have tried have managed. I then followed the recommended solution from Canadian Tech on August 19, 2016 compared to the installation of "KB3172605". It turns out that it was already installed on my computer. That being the case I am still unable to update. I should also mention that despite a few updates succeed, when I check the update history it says no updates never occurred (which is not true). Any solution?
I've not seen or heard of what you described before. If it was my computer, I would consider seriously limit how long I'd be willing to invest to fix the problem. The alternative is to do a clean reinstall. In many cases, who turns out to be a time saver, and then you have the added benefit of a virginal State system perfectly clean.

Can not get the latest Windows 7 security updates
you want to say thank you in advance to anyone who could help me with this problem. I was not able to install the new updates of security, and I don't want to leave my computer in a vulnerable state, so any help is super duper enjoyed.
I have a desktop running Windows 7 Professional 64-bit Service Pack 1. I bought the parts of the computer separately, so it did not come with a pre-installed Windows OS.
Since about two months ago (when I installed Windows), I was never able to find the updates by using Windows Update. It crashes just on the "check updates" screen I have yet to get error messages, it crashes just on this same screen, with the bar that goes from left to right.
After a week or two, I noticed that Windows has not been activated, and all I had to do was re-enter the product key. Now that Windows has been activated, I tried to look for updates again, same thing, it of just always looking for updates without results.
In the Windows Update window, it says:
Final check of updates: never
Updates have been installed: never
You receive updates: for Windows only
I have some important updates, the value "Install updates automatically (recommended)" every day at 03:00.
I have Windows Update Agent 7.6.7600.320, status: success, installation Date: 17.8.2016 (the same day I installed Windows)
2 updates installed: KB976902 (installed on November 21, 2010) and KB2534111 (installed on August 17, 2016)
I searched the internet for possible solutions to the problem, and that's what I've tried so far:
I tried troubleshooting Windows update with the tool in the Control Panel, it hanged on "Check for updates online", so not much luck with that.
Scanned with Avast Antivirus computer a couple of times, has never found a virus.
I downloaded the WindowsUpdateDiagnostic tool and tried, I got the following:
Problems found
Windows Update, error 0 x 80080005 (2016-10-16-T-12_49_06P) is not fixed
Registration for the service is missing or damaged fixed
Fixed problems to install the latest updates
Fixed problems to install the latest updatesAfter that, still can't anything when I try to search for updates in Windows Update.
I tried to download and install KB3172605 from Microsoft Download Center update, I had read that the update was to make the search for updates in Windows Update faster. Download was successful. Then, I stopped the Windows Update Service. When I tried to install, but I was left with an error message saying that the update was not applicable to my computer.
Subsequently discovered on Belarc Advisor, downloaded and ran the program. He tells me that I have a total of 148 updates security missing, here is the list:

Can I download and install these updates manually using Microsoft Download Center? If possible, in what order should I install them? Are there any updates in the list that I have no need to get, or updates that should be included in the list? Y at - it updated I could get that would speed up the process of search for updates in Windows Update?
How long can it take to find 100 updates + I need help from Windows Update? A long time I've tried have Windows Update check for updates was like 10 hours, without results. Is it worth trying to leave to search for days even? Also can I disable my firewall and antivirus during this time, or is it too risky? I am reluctant to do it, because I SLEEP in the same room as my computer is in (and the cpu fan can get really loud).
One thing that I thought about just today is that I always shut down my computer at night. Since updates are planned to install at 03:00 in the night, interrupting this process by stopping the computer down every night? Should I try to simply put it to sleep instead, for a few nights?
We appreciate once again, if anyone can suggest what to do in this situation. Responses from anyone who has had the same problem and managed to resolve it might also be useful!
Thank you!

Windows 7 continuous update search updates
I have Windows 7 Home Edition and you have downloaded KB3172605 & 3179573 KB and the Windows Update continues to be non-stop looking for updates. Any help would be appreciated as well as any response must be in the instructions very simple, please.
Post proposed by the host to the appropriate forum category (from Windows / Windows 7/download, install, and activate/download and install Windows/Windows 7 / update, backup & recovery). ***
Go to services.msc and stop the Windows Update Service. Then, install KB3172605.

Install kept as minimal as possible, this time through. Only Ethernet driver installed and just installed Microsoft Security Essentials. Two updates listed in section updates installed, one for the current Windows Update Agent and the other for new definitions of Security Essentials.
On install previous, I have tried many, many difficulties listed online and had no luck on any of them. Link Dropbox with my Windows Update Log: https://www.dropbox.com/s/skpn3v4chnwt5dp/WindowsUpdate.log?dl=0.
Could be that appreciated any idea what's ' All could provide.
Installation of KB3172605 will solve your problem. It's never because of the presence of a particular update, but in the absence of one or more.
