    Hello Tallydupp, welcome.

Do you by chance have Google Desktop? Some users have reported interference problems in Winodws 7 while using an older version of Google Desktop.
Try to uninstall it if it exists.

    Hi jjackbcop,

Thanks for posting in the Microsoft Community.

I understand that you are facing the issue with windows updates offer several times over and over again.

    Method 1:

I suggest you perform the clean boot and check.

Place the computer in a clean boot state, then check if it helps. You can start Windows by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

How to configure Windows XP to start in a "clean boot" State

    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/310353

Note: After completing the steps in the clean boot troubleshooting, follow these steps to configure Windows to use a Normal startup of the link report section to return the computer to a Normal startup mode.

After the clean boot used to resolve the problem, you can follow these steps to configure Windows XP to start normally.

    (a) click Start, run.

    (b) type msconfig and click OK.

    (c) the System Configuration Utility dialog box appears.

    (d) click the general tab, click Normal Startup - load all services and device drivers and then click OK.

    (e) when you are prompted, click on restart to restart the computer.

    Method 2:

I suggest you send the link and check (this also applies to windows XP).

Menu start no longer displays options to shut down the computer, someone knows how to change that?   The power options menu did not help.

When this happened to me, it was malware that didn't stop my computer, probably because she wanted to do something with it. I held the power button down until the computer is turned off manually, then I rebooted in safe mode - I run Vista - and ran some virus and malware programs until I found the beast and it crashed. You can also run a scan MS online at onecare.live.com, which was updated earlier this week. Moreover, I had not any data loss or permanent damage.

  • Is it possible to shut down the computer after the call to a draw on Chess Titans?

Is it possible to shut down the computer after the call to a draw on Chess Titans? It does this to me almost everytime I have the King stuck, but when my King is stuck, I lose each time. WTH?

original title: circulation of Chess Titans

If its your turn and you can make any legal move either with any piece, but your King is not in check, it is then deadlock. Deadlock is considered a match draw in standard chess rules. For examples, see:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stalemate .

If your King is in check and you can immediately do a legal process to get out then check it's checkmate. For the person who the King is in check, this counts as a loss. For examples, see:

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Checkmate .

In the two scenarios above, can even vice versa (it may apply to your opponent too).

If the above explains what you see in Chess Titans then the program is correctly following standard rules and it is not a bug in the program. If she does not explain what you see then please explain more precisely the scenario.

  • stop ID10T users of abandonment downloads by shutting down the computer or put it to sleep

    Key issue:
Short of locking all users of the computer, is it possible to use my admin account to stop temporarily to other users of the computer is shut down, put to sleep or into hibernation mode? At least until that I get home from work?

    Explanation:

Normally, all users should be able to put the computer into standby or turn off the console. I want that way normally. However, I share the computer with other people in the House and must work full time, leave the computer unattended during the day.

For the last three days, I tried to download a LARGE file from a slow server an approximate time of 6 hours. Oh, to add insult to injury I can't the server let me resume a download. To allow the user to get on the computer while I'm at work and by downloading the file, I used Fast User Switching (name of the XP, in case it's called something different to 7) to put the computer on the Welcome screen, while my regular account download.

For the past two days, despite myself, leaving a note saying: 'Do NOT stop the computer or put it to sleep', when I got home from work, the computer was off, and the download was incomplete. I got an explanation "you were always telling me to stop when I'm done, I did not forget at this time." Then today I started downloading two hours ago and was only asked "could I please verify my email address?", so I donnГ the computer. When she was done, she put the computer to sleep, which was just as bad as l ' turn off as much as to cancel the download.

Short of locking all users of the computer, is it possible to use my admin account to stop temporarily to other users of the computer is shut down, put to sleep or into hibernation mode? At least until that I get home from work?
