keep losing internet connection on PC laptop of HP Pavilion g6

As above, I keep losing internet connection on PC laptop of HP Pavilion g6 and often have to go out to get it back. I had the laptop for over a year and have had this problem from day one. There is often no connection at all. I'll be on a a Bab beautiful site and then the next it just freezes. Sometimes clicking on dissconnect then reconnect will solve the problem. But most of the time that I have to turn it off, wait a few minutes and then restart your computer. It does not always if I have to do it again. As above, I have had this problem from day one. When I got it home it has no connection to be seen. I took it streight back to PC world, they passed it and connections were there. When I got home, turned on others were there, but not my own. After the market again was mine. After that, it was OK for a week or two, then I started having the problems that I have now. My son sitting about three feet from me on his laptop has no problems at all so I know that it is the laptop and not my router. My wife, my son and my phone are also on the internet through the router when it fires. Now and then it will be OK for a few days, but most of the time it turns off several times a day. It's a good pain as each else with the laptop is great.

Hi @wiggie ,

Thanks for your post, I will do my best to help.

What trust do not forget it is very helpful if you include your exact model of HP laptop and operating system.  HP produces many models of Pavilion G6

How can I find my model number or product number?

It sounds as if after a period of the computer is the ' turn off.

You would check the Please this setting.

Go to the Device Manager

Click on the adpaters network to expand the list

Right-click on the network adapter and choose Properties

Click the Power Managerment

Please uncheck allow the computer to turn off this device to save power if it is checked.

Repeat the above for all types of additional network adapters.

I hope this helps.

What do you mean by "driver support?

If you have installed one of these offers of support software driver, you have installed malware.  The vast majority of them no useful software and installing a lot of malware on your computer.

  • Why I keep losing internet connection?

For a long time, I keep losing the internet connection.

    I lose the connection when:

    • I move to a different location around the House
    • Another computer is turned on
    • I just returned from a sleep mode

Why is this? Because of the router?

    Help, please! Thanks in advance!

    Hello

Your router could be suspicious here, you have successfully updated its firmware as a possible solution? And
I would update your WiFi drivers on computers. How you are positioned in the router?
Are there obstacles in the path?

Actually try updating your driver and disabling the network logon.

Control Panel - network - write down of the brand and the model of the Wifi - double click top - tab of the driver-
Note the version - click on update driver (can't do anything as MS is far behind certifying)
drivers). Then right click on the Wifi device and UNINSTALL - Reboot - it will refresh the driver
    stack.

Look at the sites of the manufacturer for drivers - and the manufacturer of the device manually.

You can download several at once however restart after the installation of each of them.

After watching the system manufacturer, you can check the manufacturer of the device an even newer version.
(Those become your fonts of rescue system manufacturer).

Repeat for network (NIC) card and is a good time to get the other updated drivers Vista
    love the updated drivers.

I would also turn off auto update for the drivers. If Windows Update suggests a just HIDE
because they are almost always old, and you can search drivers manually as needed.

  • Windows 7 keeps losing internet connection?

OK, so, since yesterday, I noticed my internet connection went on vacation, so I'm not used: unplug the modem and router for 30 seconds. (Or more). However, this occurred about 3 times in the same hour. It worked so well for the rest of the day. Now, today, happened about six times. What I notice is that it does not set itself when I unplug, but every time there is a new problem.

There was a "DNS server is not responding" one who came 3 times however.

But at the time it happened.

I'm not a person tech or all what you call them.

So, naturally I don't understand what all this means. What is the DNS server?
What does all this in the middle of the screen capture?

And how can I stop losing the internet connection?

    Hi, Freddy.

Method 1: Manually assign the IP address and the default gateway and check if it works very well.

Before assigning the IP address and the default gateway, make a note of the IP address of the computer. To do this open command prompt, type ipconfig and press to enter. This displays the IP address, make a note of it.

To manually assign the IP address and default gateway, follow these steps:

    a. in the system, right click on network icon tray. Choose Open network and sharing Center.

    b. right-click on Local area connection and click Properties.

    c. double-clickProtocol Internet Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) and assign the IP address manually.

Example: Old Ip address is 192.168.0.1
    Replace the IP 192.168.0.50

    d. that the subnet mask and default gateway are the same.

    Subnet mask = 255.255.255.0

Gateway by default, would usually 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1

    e. click apply then click Ok and restart the computer and check if it helps to solve the problem.

Method 2: Temporarily disabling the firewall on your computer and check if it makes a difference.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/turn-Windows-Firewall-on-or-off

Note: You should not turn off Windows Firewall unless you have another firewall is enabled. Turning off Windows Firewall may make your computer (and your network, if you have one) more vulnerable to damage caused by worms or hackers.

  • Losing Internet connection because of the default gateway is not available.

I keep losing internet connection and when I run the troubleshooter, it comes up saying "the default gateway is not available". I have an HP with Intel dv6985se. I was advised to do the following:
I had the same problems of chance which I fixed it by simple disabling 'SLEEP ON DISCONNECT' SideScalng disconnect

1 Access Device Manager (Control Panel > system and security > system > Device Manager)
    2. expand the network adapters
    3. Select the adapter that you are using (if more than 1 Repeat step 4 to 8 for each adapter)
    4. right click and select Properties
    5 click Advanced
    6. If you have installed Nvidia Ethernet configuration click the button
    7. scroll to the bottom of the list and disable the device sleep on disconnection and receive Side Scaling
    8. save the settings

I appreciate this help info but none of this applies to my computer has. In my device under 'Network adapters' Manager, I do not have Nvidia, Asus and AMD, which is listed under my network cards is "Intel Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN" and "Realtek RTL8101E Family PCI - E Fast Ethernet NIC (NDIS 6.20)".

The help that I've provided says disabling "Sleep on Disconnect" and "Receive Side Scaling"... or those who are in one of my "adapter properties tab advanced options" for both my Intel and Realtek... no where does say anything about sleep on disconnect or side scaling.

I was online with HP cat many times and Ive tried the options they have provided that is basically what I've found here but nothing has worked so far! My computer is 1 1/2 old and is preinstalled with Vista 64-bit. Recently, I have completely restored my computer with Windows 7 64 bit, and ever since then, I can't download anything or talk to HP or any kind of help because I lose the connection. Could someone please help me solve this problem... to be frank and honest he pisses me off beyond words that I never had this problem when I'm on Vista!

I don't know what else I can provide to better help me to solve this problem, but if anyone would like more information on what programs etc, my computer has let me know and I will provide the information. Below, I'm pasting the info I received through my history of troubleshooting like a Notepad of paper Network Diagnostic and Route.Print document.

  • Keep losing the connection Wi - Fi Windows 7

I keep losing my connection Wireless on my Dell Studio XPS 1647 running windows 7 Home premium.  I have a router netgear dual band Dell laptop, xbox 360 in my house and my other computer and panasonic tv all run on the network without any problems.  My wireless card is an intel centrino advanced-n 6200 and my card was replaced, reinstalled by Dell and updated, because they thought it was the problem.  I also turned off the power to the wireless card management to make sure that wasn't the problem.  My internet runs fine for about 10 minutes or less then slow down or completely the loss of connections.  I am at a total loss about what to do next, and would appreciate any help!

Your TV service and the phone can function properly and at the same time, your Internet connection may be down.  I always check the box attached over the outside to see if the Internet light is on when this happens.  Usually he is gone because of something done Comcast.  You didn't say which is your Internet access provider, but you can check with them.

When I call Comcast they me jump through a bunch of hoops to a canned script, that they have, which most is useless, but they said that is what to tell people.  :-(  In my case, I found that unplugging the power cord from the Comcast box for a minute or two, then reconnecting usually solves the problem without having to turn off and restart.  Usually if I simply ignore it for a period of time (usually less than one hour) it will recover on its own.  YMMV

I hope this helps.  Good luck.

Please note that I use the Dongle USB Modem for internet connection in my laptop and my laptop has WiFi support

Also, I tried to share internet from my laptop through the technology Intel® My WiFi for my Nokia Lumia 620 but when I tried to connect my phone sent me a message that says: "your phone could not connect to the WiFi network, because there is no response from the network. Please try again later.

    Hi Sajid,

    Thanks for the reply.

There is no option/feature to share the internet connection between computer and mobile. As Ramesh, said that you will need to install any third-party program or app to perform the task. As I see you have answered in the response of Ramesh with the third-party application names. We recommend not all third-party programs for the task you are trying to run.

I suggest you to contact the Nokia support for assistance.
