• Subvi in front control panel

  Hey people of the world, I have a question about the Sub - VI and other. I am currently trying to take a loop in my program and do a Subvi to make a more modular program. The only question is, this loop contains approximately 8 indicators that shows various data on my front. The function of this program is to test a motor continuous and connect the acquired data. As it works now, the data is stored and displayed on the front panel all the time but when I do a Subvi he loses the display continuously feature the logging data and only display the data once I stop the program.   Sorry if this question was already resurrected, however I do not know how to specify exactly in terms of nomenclature of LV (I'm a beginner in LV) which makes it quite difficult to search forum.

  I need to create an interface with the user specified number of input channels (specified during application, dynamic loading is necessary). Each channel must be controlled by Subvi. I would like to load panels of any entry Subvi course into a container in a main façade (Similarly for the secondary, but multiple loading VI, not alone). Is there a container capable of this? Is this possible in LV?

  You can use several sub-panels. Unfortunately, the number of sub-panels must be defined during the development. You can create a method to browse through your different channels. This assumes the loading and unloading of the multiple sub-panels you include in the user interface.

  Another alternative would be to use a table or something similar. You have your subVIs post updates of the code of the user interface through the queues, registrants or user events. The tables are much easier to manage when your number of items varies. If you need to have the user interface to pass information to the subVIs it can also use queues, registrants or user events.

• iPhone in Australia of bending problem

  I have two iPhones, iPad and apple TV. I bought iPhone6 and a soft case for it on the Apple Store in Sydney 6 months ago. It is only when moving to work I keep the phone in my front pocket and put it on my desk as soon as I get in the office or at home. I use it with a lot of attention (after all what you pay 900AUD)!

  Recently I was cleaning the phone and out of coverage, and noticed that there was an elbow. My friends noticed the elbow with cover, even if it's only a small curvature.

  I called Apple Store today and customer service agent told me it is a defect with the iPhone 6 and 6 + and would be considered "accidental damage". I disagree that it is "accidental" as it was used very carefully and never once has been involved in an "accident". Then he started asking me questions like - "you put the phone in the Pocket before or back pocket"? I said I do not sit on the phone, only keep in the front pocket.

  His next question made me laugh but I can see where it came from-"you wear tight pants? I said no.

  '' Do you use a soft case or a case that might caused the elbow ''? As you can see, I bought the rear Softcover at the Apple Store when I bought the phone.

  Then he talked a few options which all sounded all the same and ended by me booking a appointment that someone at the store can check the phone and see if the phone could have attended an 'accident '. I accepted with joy, but he he closed by saying "your appointment is booked, however be prepared that it will consider accidental damage."

  So this nomination I'll just for formality? How can say on the one hand Apple Yes, 'we know, this is a known fault that the phone is looking' and on the other to say "it is considered accidental damage" so that they can ask customers to pay for more after the purchase for $ 900? Since when Apple or (any other phone) is it acceptable that we always carry the phone in our hands and never put in the Pocket? And why have we not been we said about the known defects before selling?

  I like Apple products, but this type of customer service makes you rethink! I wonder if it is still acceptable to the ACCC (Australian Competition and Consumer Commission) standards and if someone were to go to them before? I hope that the customer service agent, I booked with see reason, but even in an effort to "do what is right", I am ready to go to the ACCC.

  It is not a defect.  This has been much in the news.  It looks no more easily than other phones of its size.

  If the iPhone is defective, then Apple should replace.  Is damaged, then they won't.  At your appointment, they will determine that.

  I have a problem with 2 computers and its kind of a large.  Hard to know where to start so I'll keep it short, but I think it may concern even Microsoft, because it involves the use of what I believe to be false "terms of service" or small print and I knew even where the source of this problem is, but I really need help! Myself and others use laptops we bought together.  We live in a family, but laptops, a TOSHIBA and a HP/COMPAQ F700 satellite, as well as what I call a wireless router belong to the USA! We are connected through this wireless device, a PRISM which is perhaps a bit older, but of course seems to work, it is plugged into a modem cable motorola belonging to someone else in the House.  To make things moving along, he came to our attention that A: our systems periodically change without our permission, by that I mean that the toshiba that was purchased at walmart brand new, came with an Intel Celeron, and I think THAT the wireless card IS an atheros brand.  I KNOW that was the case with the Compaq regarding the wireless adapter, and Compaq was bought at a rent to own store and came with a 1 GB ram AMD processor.  For some reason, we are under some form of control Admin, and our system is changing periodically on BOTH computers to say his family chipset intel and our wireless adapters will go to realtek USB 2.0, once again on BOTH computers.  When this happens, our user accounts admin, that we had as an administrator user accounts AND I have unlocked the hidden via the cmd prompt and hold SHIFT + ENTER thing, will be signed in some way limit our ability to do things.  LAST FEW DETAILS, I promise you: the so-called matrix memory of intel as magically appeared with software RAID of surveillance and we saw our event logs, which we prob didn't know existed, being transferred by a remote user, and we have never consulted the remote adjustment, except in order to turn them off, as well as file sharing options.  However they continue to change when this happens.  Yesterday, to finish that, I found strange things after doing a thing of complete system repair, not for the first time, this time on the compaq.  After the repair, which seemed fine at first, I was embarrassed to find a few shortcuts readme present in the recently amended on the start menu folder.  I followed them to the folder locations that led me to the prog. files, THE SIMS 2, and various subfolders with S.W.R. claiming to be from MICROSOFT and don't mention any particular O.S. except with reference to .NET and some virtualization programs that we noticed the menu running task.  OH, I shouldn't forget that with the processor changes in both pc, THEY BOTH now say that they ar x 86 client or PC workstation and a recent attempt on the repair of the system or pressing f8 on the toshiba somehow led me to a weird command prompt which began with X : ??  I'm prob a few things set aside even if it is really long, but the SIMS 2 folder is very disturbing because a person who lives here once gave us a CD on an old computer that has not been used for at least 3 years and we have certainly not installed this game WE NEITHER of these new computers.  I SUSPECT SOME things but don't know what to do.  I TRIED to get our product off the coast of the TOSHIBA key but was said previously by a repairman it seems to have BEEN DELETED!  The records in question, according to me, are always on both pc and we executed the software suggested, including microsoft security databases, s.s.and destroy, and the malewarebytes thing, as well as to have a repair shop gives us some tips. They said several things, like the toshiba tried to boot from the drive cd/DVD, then boot pxe or something and someone had changed the wake on lan option, and maybe other things I do not remember.  OK SORRY FOR ALL this THAT REALLY, but I wanted to make sure that I gave as much information as possible because we never wanted our PC clone, virtualized, or something like that, whatever realtek usb 2.0 is, it's another icon of the wireless connection in the tray on the lower right AND THE COMPAQ is REMAINED CONNECTED WITH the off switch wireless?  Help!

  Thank you for your gracious reply. It certainly sounds to me like your computers are compromised. As I said, the only way to fix now is to restore as long as the plant once more after you back up your data and then set them up by the suggestions below. It costs you nothing but time. I'll also give you my general information on the configuration of the network wireless safely. Unfortunately, you must have control of the wireless router to do this. If you do not, then consider doing your own Internet connection and wireless router. Addition to the steps of General safety below, make sure that file/printer sharing is DISABLED.
  
  The result of all this is to keep on the front of your mind is that security, physical access to a machine trumps all. If you do not trust the people with whom you live and/or people who visit them, you have to keep the computer with you or in a locked environment that no one else can enter. And of course the locks can be chosen. Or find the best people to live with. I understand that this is not possible in your real world, but I'm telling you all the options.

  Computer security - any computer running an operating system is accessible by a person with 1) physical access; (2) time; (3) jurisdiction; (4) tools of. There are a few things you can do to make it a little more difficult but:

  1. define a password in the BIOS that must be entered before starting the operating system. Also to set the supervisor password in the BIOS so the BIOS configuration cannot be entered without it.

In XP and Vista, you can use the Security Console or MVP Doug Knox or the program MS SteadyState to set restrictions as you wish. SteadyState now supports Vista but not Windows 7. Mr. Knox security console may still work in Win7.

  Please understand that these are technical answers to what is essentially a technical problem and there are ways around these precautions. It is a problem of family / interpersonal which cannot be solved by technical means.

  Establishing a safe wireless router - have a computer connected to the router with an ethernet cable. Examples given are for a Linksys router. See the manual of your router or the router mftr's Web site. for the parameters by default if you don't have a Linksys. Open a browser such as Internet Explorer or Firefox and in the address bar type:

  http://192.168.1.1 [Enter] (it is default IP address of the router, which varies from router to router then check your manual)

  This will bring you to the login screen of the router. The default username is blank and the Linksys default password is "admin" without the quotes. Enter this information. You are now in the configuration of the router utility. Your configuration utility may be slightly different from mine. The first thing to do is to change the password by default because everyone knows the default passwords for different routers.

  Click the Administration link at the top of the page. Enter your new password. MAKE A NOTE SOMEWHERE THAT YOU WILL NOT LOSE. Re-enter the password to confirm it, and then click Save settings at the bottom of the page. The router will reboot and show you the box of connection again. Do not fill in the user name and put it in your new password to enter the configuration utility.

  Now, click on the link wireless at the top of the page. Change the network name (SSID) wireless by default to something, you'll recognize. I suggest that my clients not use their surname as the SSID. For example, you might want to name your network wireless network "CastleAnthrax" or similar. ;-)

  Click on save settings and when you get the prompt that your changes were successful, click the wireless security link which is just beside the Basic Wireless Settings link (where you changed your SSID). Most computers purchased during the last 4 years have the wireless hardware that will support WPA2-Personal (also known as WPA2-PSK). This is the desired encryption level. If your wireless hardware is older, use WPA. Don't use WEP, because who is easily broken within minutes. So go ahead and set the Security Mode WPA2-Personal. Do this and enter a password. For example, you could use the password ' here be dragons, beware you scurvy dogs! The password is what you enter on all computers that are allowed to connect to the wireless network. MAKE A NOTE SOMEWHERE THAT YOU WILL NOT LOSE.

  At this point, your router is set up and if the computer that you use to configure the router will normally connect wireless, disconnect the ethernet cable and wireless of the computer should see your new network. Enter the password that you have created (exactly as you wrote it with all capital letters and punctuation) to join the network and start surfing.

(The public perception of Microsoft is at a low of all time after the launch of Windows 8 and the sacking of Sinofsky. I agree with you that the fool had to do, but he admitted that you had mucked it all. (And which has proved to be the case).

  This update contains the most requested features and updates to existing features, with some bugfixes mixed in. This is based on feedback from customers.

  This is what Microsoft calls the new normal. Usually feature updates and new features were not implemented until the next full version of Windows was released on a 3 year cycle.

• Outsourcing of the controls on the front panel for a panel floating Subvi

  I already found a few similar topics, but I still don't know which is the best way to solve my problem. I will try to describe my problem in detail first: I have a main VI that acquires data from a device and displays these data in a large waveform graph. I have also a few controls on the front panel to control my device. First, I placed all of these device controls (digital, sliders, etc.) as well as the chart inside the front of my main VI. However, due to limited screen space now I would like to make the largest possible graph and so decided to "outsource" some controls out of the main façade of VI to several panels front-end Subvi.

  I would then press a button in my main VI and it would open the Panel before the floating of the Sub - VI corresponding with outsourced controls when required. However, everything must be absolutely transparent. It is important that floating panels to run in parallel with my main VI, that is the main VI must continue to operate. That way I'll have my data constantly updated in the chart in my main VI while I can change some settings of the device through the controls placed in my SubVIs. These changes will be immediately applied (for example as soon as the main VI calls this slot - VI in its main loop).

  It is important to the visibility of the outsourced optional control panel, i.e. If the Subvi front panel opens with the user that it will pop up and the user will be able to change the paramers device using the. But then the user should be able to close the front panel (hide) the Subvi to see the entire chart again without the Panel floating in front of her (of course control values must be maintained when the Subvi front is not visible). Then the new button is pressed in the main VI that opens the dialog box not modal Subvi containing controls and it can redefine new values of device.

  A global variable will, also.  Write you in one place and read the value frequently to somewhere else (in the election). So you can see easily to any value change.  However, mark will waste a lot of time processor.  This is why I have proposed to use a queue or a notification utility.

  Yes, the Subvi can keep the façade open until the user closes. And there should be no flickering.  The biggest drawback I see right now is that when you expect an event in the Subvi, the mainVI cannot stop without talking to the Subvi to stop.  So you'll need another channel of communication (again a global, a queue, a declarant or an event) to tell the Subvi that she must stop.

  Start Firefox in Firefox to solve the issues in Safe Mode to check if one of the Add-ons is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Tools > Modules > themes).

• Open and close the Panel the Subvi front

  Hi all

  Run LabVIEW 2011 on Windows 7 x 64.  I am trying to get a Subvi front to open from my main PC with the touch of a button, then close with a button press in the Subvi.  Here's the piece of my main FP who calls the VI and opens the FP

  Locations is defined in another loop and all loops are in a flat order.  I made this way because I want to start with the first press and not stop my main loop to run.  So I don't know if I can run in the same line as the event or not, I've moved the element to the left loop around a lot.  Anyway the VI of openness seems to work very well.

  The problem arises when you try to close the Subvi for the SECOND time.  The code is here:

  

  As I said, the first time I open and close the VI everything works as it should, hopefully.  Then, I am able to reopen but now 'empty' button does not work and I can't close the window or even to open the block diagram to probe anything.  I tried to understand this point for a while, any insite would be greatly appreciated!

  Found my problem, I had the wrong boolean on one of my other events.  If this seems to be a good way to open/close a Subvi if anyone is interested!

  I have a Subvi in my MainVi which calculates and displays things continually. In the MainVi, I have a button which, when pushed should open the Subvi front panel and display what ever he did at this point in time.

  I am able to simply display its façade but not able to display the calculations he made.

  If you your not reentrant VI, you need to change the input reference VI open to match options. You have specified '8' and as explained in the help, it will generate this error if the Subvi is not reentrant.

  I meet a strange bug. In my code, I use a Subvi to control a piece of hardware. The Subvi has commands for all functions of my hardware.

  I changes the value of one of these controls in my main façade by running a reference to a button on my main façade in the Subvi, grabbing the value of the button with a property node, then update the value of the Subvi control using a node property signage.

  This works very well when my Subvi front is open, but does not work the Subvi front closing.

  I am new to labview, so any help is appreciated.

  This event triggers a series of writing for the real hardware. The material is sent only a command when something changes.

  My code is made up of handlers inside functional global variables. In this way, I can send different parts of code of different orders (example: reset and reset) with the events generated by programming.

  If you had used the dialogues of error, you would have seen the paths of access to the VIs you build are not valid.  The screws are always included in the EXE file, so you don't have to do any special stripping of the VI EXE path.  A fake wire to your case structure determine the path, and it works perfectly.

  Just dual-band is the path if you try to get the EXE directory.

• Looking for a way to programmatically set the visible front part when opens a Subvi

  I'm looking for a way to programmatically set the visible portion of the front panel, when a Subvi opens.  Did not find all the messages that are related, but I do not know how to ask the right question.  To be clear, I want to write a VI assistance programme through a list of subVIs to ensure that background images are all in the same place when to open their respective subVIs.  I hate to play manually with scroll bars before I save each of the screws...  I'm thinking I need to find the top/left of the background image location (know already do) and then to set a property of the VI FP some offset or these values, but I can't find the corresponding property. FP:run - timeposition:custom looked promising, but only affects the location of the window, and not the area of the front panel displays the window.

  I should have added that the idea of using the background image does NOT change the origin.  Therefore, always be close enough, as your controls and indicators won't move, just the image.

  I personally use the OpenG VI and the open method of front panel, when I am in your situation.
