While trying to reinstall Windows 7 on my Dell Inspiron 1545 of the reinstall DVD after you have installed a hard drive again, I got this message: error message "the computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error" after starting the system on Windows 7 Recovery. Tried F10, SHIFT F10 and nothing happened. Then I tried a suggestion of virtual Agent to press F8 to get to advance Boot Options, but this option does not appear! Help!
For Dell cptrs, you will need to press F12 to access the unique Boot Order Menu(= a temporary setting), little after the Dell logo appears on the desktop. U hv only 5 seconds to do, b4 the cptr will automatically initialize to top with the internal HARD disk.
....... F12 is usually used to start the cptr since the DVD player or a plugged in USB-flash drive with a Win 7 install or recovery media.
To permanently change the boot order, you must similarly press F2 to access the full Boot configuration Menu. The default boot device is the internal HARD drive, but this can be changed to DVD player, USB, disk, network drive, etc. F2 is usually used to start the cptr of an external hard drive(= USB HDD) that contains a bootable Linux operating system.

Hi, Mary
I'm using the Enterprise version that it froze during installation, so I waited around 9-10 Minutes still nothing
so I started keys at random because I was waiting for a long time then restarted my PC and now I can't start my pc.>:-( >:-( >:-( >:-(
Boot from the Windows 8 DVD or USB media that you created
Click Install now
Accept the license agreement
When the option is displayed to select a type of installation, click (Custom advanced)Select the disk partition where you want to install Windows 8 click Next.
You will receive the following warning:
The partition you have selected may contain files from a previous Installation of Windows. If so, these files and folders will be moved to a folder named Windows.old. You will be able to access the information in Windows.old, but you will be able to use your previous version of Windows.
(At all costs, do NOT click on anything in Format, deletion or Partition name.) So even do a custom installation, your personal files are still kept. Click OK
The installation program will now begin installation. During installation, your computer will be restarted several times.
Once the installation is complete, you can complete the Out of Box experience as the choice of your laptop, create a username, password, your time zone. You can then proceed to download the latest updates for Windows and reinstall your applications and drivers.
You can then retrieve your personal files from the Windows.old folder and reinstall all of your applications and drivers.

I bought a new computer and I get this error message. I can't speak to the seller until Monday and I have no disc to re - start. Any ideas?
If you continue to try to get going, you can void the warranty.
I suggest that you, you have to do anyway, wait until Monday and contact the seller or manufacturer of the desktop computer.
See you soon.

How can I configure my windows 7 after restoring my laptop to the factory conditians?
My laptop had a blue screen and I couldn't get rid of it, I went into safe mode and restore my computer to factory conditions. When the computer says "the installation program starts services" you stop and I couldn't turn it back on for 15 minutes. When I turned on and tried to contained my setup, a message keeps poping up "the computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error." Windows Setup cannot continue. To install windows, click ok to restart the computer, and then restart the installation. "But no mader, how many times I reboot my laptop, the same message appears. What should I do? I've restored my computer several times and never had this problem. You should try another recovery.
New computers coming often pre-installed with Windows 7 have what is called a recovery partition. This is used to reinstall an operating system in the case of a system failure. To access it, you need to start when you start your computer by pressing a function key. This can be either F1, F2, F9, F10, F11, F12 key DEL or tab. See the manual that came with your PC for instructions on how to reinstall Windows.
If your recovery partition is not available or damaged, you must contact the manufacturer of your computer, and request that a defined recovery disk you can use to reinstall Windows 7. They could practice a small shipping and handling.

Satellite P300 - 18 M - Windows Setup cannot continue
Hi, my first post here, hoping for any help.

When I do the initial installation I received a message all in settng upward of Windows Vista Home "the computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error." Windows Setup cannot continue. To install windows click on 'OK' to restart the computer announced then rstart installation. »
I tried a few times more full-time catering and the third HARD drive it installed, but...
either he starts, I get to the password screen then all invent locks, the mouse pointer freezes then the screen becomes full of horizontal lines.or
I've had a few times in windows for a few minutes (2-5 minutes) then the mouse pointer freezes, 3 seconds later the entire screen is full of horizontal lines, everything locked can only turn off the coast.
Toshiba software error, so no warranty claim and advised that I buy the DVD (£29.90) that I ordered it, on a delivery of 14 days of recovery.Any other help or suggestions much appreciated as im not confident of this DVD, being a brand new sealed unit, why corript of Vista in the first place.
Thanks in advance
Andy
Hello
In my view, that the P300 is equipped with the ability to drive HARD recovery. This means that you could restore the operating system of the image that is stored on the HARD drive.
To do this, you will need to power the laptop and must press the F8 key.A start menu should appear, then you should choose the first option called fix my computer.
Then, you must choose the option called Toshiba HDD recover or something like that. It should be the last option.
This procedure helps you reinstall Vista again.
This facility could be that you can burn the own recovery disk using the preinstalled software called Toshiba Recovery Disk Creator. But if the recovery of HARD drive does not work you will need to use your orderly recovery DVDs and have to restore it again.
If the laptop will not properly work after using Recovery then DVDs I recommend to contact the ASP again and to explain the whole story.Good luck

Hey dkeeney2330
· try a restore system before this
http://www.windowsvistauserguide.com/system_restore.htm
If necessary do in safe mode
Windows Vista
Using the F8 method:
1. reboot your computer.
2. when the computer starts, you will see your computer hardware are listed. When you see this information begins to tap theF8 key repeatedly until you are presented with the Boot Options Advanced Windows Vista.
3. Select theSafe Mode option with the arrow keys.
4. pressenter on your keyboard to start mode without failure of Vista.
5. when Windows starts, you will be at a typical logon screen. Connect to your computer and Vista goes into safe mode.
6 do whatever tasks you need and when you are done, reboot to return to normal mode.

I have this error message and called technical support from microsoft, we have tried to reinstall Vista again once I had tried three times with the same error message. It would freeze to "complete installation." even let him all night to see if he needed more time to complete on its own, but nothing helps...the technician told me I have a hardware problem, but when I installed XP on it everything works correctly.
It's a new pc and a clean install of Home premium. I re-post this question since yesterday
Hi evan9074,
So was the question then? You can run the Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor to see if there are compatibility issues that you have with hardware or software that would prevent an upgrade to Windows Vista.
I hope this helps.

I upgraded my card mother cpu ram and hard drive. I reinstalled windows xp home edition has got all of the updates. After 9 latest updates download and installtion was going well until I rebooted the computer and go to page window showing all the icons that I get a blue screen and the computer restarts its self and does not stop. How can this be corrected?
Hi KevinRy,
Welcome to the Microsoft Answers site!
Unplug all external devices.
Try to start in safe mode. If you can start in safe mode, and then do a system restore to restore the computer to an earlier point in time.
Change the recovery settings to disable automatic reboot, if you are able to boot up to the desktop computer:
1.
Right-click my computerand then click Properties.
2.
Click the Advanced tab.
3.
Under Startup and recovery, click settings to open the Startup and recovery dialog box.
4.
Clear the automatically restart check box, and then click OK many times necessary.
5.
Restart your computer so that the settings take effect.
Now, when you are going to close and a fatal error occurs, you will see at least and it won't cause an automatic restart.
Please reply back with the error message you get because it helps us to resolve the error.
Kind regards
