  I have intermittent starting problems. Technician at the shop said that it is important to reproduce the problem so that they can provide recommendations for repair. This mac is still under warranty and if I want to do the repair, it must be respected, that is me being left without a computer for a few weeks.   As a first step, I suggest to use the Combo Update 10.11.6 to replace any system software that is corrupt.

  The Combo update is a complete installation, as opposed to an incremental "delta" update, so you have to overwrite all files are damaged or missing. It does not matter if you have previously applied. All your data and settings must be kept, but that said, you should always have a backup.

  It seems that your screen displays some graphical anomalies when you connect to your user name. I would use these troubleshooting steps in the following article on the resolution of screens:

  Restart your Mac in safe mode to reset the default display resolution.

  If booting safe mode doesn't resolve the problem, reset your Mac NVRAM and SMC to reset the video ports on your Mac to their default values.

  Print > save as PDF - use an excerpt (part of Mac OS X), so Adobe Reader should have no effect on that at all.

  As for the error "file corrupted", simply uninstall the Reader app will not affect it. Follow these steps:
