Key icons no longer appear on the taskbar

Key icons, as power Source / battery capacity, the volume and amount of data read for a dowload of Outlook e-mail suddenly stopped appearing in my taskbar.

Sign says they are set to display, and I tried turning them OFF (they do not appear) and turn it back on, and they do not always appear.

At the same time stupid icons, like the phone symbol for Internet Dial Up (which I NEVER use) began to appear in their place.

Most worrying is the remaining capacity of the battery, that I use often my laptop to a power source.

I use a fully updated Windows XP Pro on a Fujitsu Amilo Pro laptop.

  • How can I remove an item from the death of the select icons and notifications appear in the taskbar?

When I open "Select icons and notifications appear in the task bar" one of the things it lists is "GLBD565.tmp" which seems to be left by the installation of a software product.  The icon is not active and I doubt if it still exists, but it appears in the list.  That list is maintained and how to remove the dead of her spots?

The entries to Customize Notifications cannot be removed selectively. You can, however, clear the set lists by using the following registry change.

    1. Click Start, type regedit in the Search box and press ENTER.

    2. Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
      Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\TrayNotify HKEY_CURRENT_USER
    3. In the Details pane, click the IconStreams registry entry.
    4. On the Edit menu, click delete, and then click Yes.
    5. In the Details pane, click the PastIconsStream registry entry.
    6. On the Edit menu, click delete, and then click Yes.
    7. Exit Registry Editor.
    8. Restart the Explorer.exe process. To do this, follow these steps:
    9. Press CTRL + SHIFT + ESC.
    10. On the process in the Task Manager tab, click the process explorer.exe and then double click on end process .
    11. On the file menu, click new task (run), type Explorer and click OK.
    12. Exit Task Manager.

  • Longer appears in the taskbar. I want that the taskbar with all the windows open, time, date, etc. should appear when firefox is opened.

THE TASKBAR APPEARS MORE WHEN FIREFOX IS OPENED. I HAVE NO WAY TO SEE THE WINDOWS OPEN. I HAVE NO TIME, ETC. ALSO THE ADDRESS BAR IS GONE SO I HAVE NO WAY TO ENTER A NEW URL. IT IS SIMPLY THE CONTENT OF THE WINDOW TO FILL. I HAVE WINDOWS XP SERVICE PACK 2, I THINK. RESTORE THE TASKBAR!

Press the F11 key on the keyboard, you're probably in mode full-screen .

    Thank you

I'm using LabVIEW 8.6 to generate an executable file. I use 16 x 16, 4 bit color icon. The shortcut is on the desktop, but it does not appear in the project view, it does not appear to the left of the name of the application in the taskbar or in the upper left corner of the front panel.

Previous posts have mentioned using 16 x 16 bit icons, but I already do. Is there something else I could do wrong?

It is included in your project file? You have selected using the icon when you build the .exe? Check the icon in the project, it is best if it is made for all 3 color resolutions.

  • Windows Update KB2538242; Update icon continues to appear in the taskbar

    Good evening

The Windows Update icon continues to stay in my bar tasks, since the update referenced in the subject line was supposed to be available.  I went to the Windows Update site, but the info for this particular update indicates the "update of size" is 0 bytes in size, and download time is "0 minutes

A couple of days, a MS tech support remotely connected to my pc and supposedly fixed this problem, but returns the Update icon in the taskbar!  Someone idea of EVERYTHING happening here and WHEN this problem will be corrected?  By checking my "Add/Remove Programs" section in Control Panel (with the show updates check box), I don't see the update above listed anywhere.

Thanks much for any info on this!

  • My "speaker" icon no longer appears my my taskbar.

I am running Vista SP2.  A few days ago I noticed that my PC speakers did not work.  I tried to reinstall the driver from the manufacturer (HP) to see the "speaker" completely icon disappear from the taskbar after restarting!  I also tried to update the audio (Realtek) driver and video driver (the speakers are physically inside the screen) of the manufacturer.  I have also reinstalled the High Definition Audio Codec.  After all this and a half day of start of the system, nothing has helped.  The instructions on the web site of HP said I should see the "audio, video, and game controllers" listed in Device Manager.  It is not, so I'm confused if it's bad instructions from them or my D/M is messed up.

    Hello John Hilden,.

A very informative page of Microsoft, Tips for solving common audio problems, basically covers everything you will need to take a look at this issue. Take a look at that and to use the troubleshooting steps are there. If you need assistance, please let us know.

  • When I open a program, another icon appears in the taskbar. How can I change to make the correct icon?

I tried to change the default program that appears when I open the .gif or .jpg files, so I made successfully by using the control panel.

Then when I opened a PDF file (with Adobe Reader X), the icon that appears in the taskbar is my default program for .gif and .jpg files (in this case, paint).  I checked the options of the program by default under the control panel and it does not say that .pdf files will be opened by Adobe Reader if it is not the problem.

When I check the properties of Adobe Reader X, the icon used is the appropriate icon.

I uninstalled and reinstalled Adobe Reader software, but it still happens.  I restarted the computer.

So why Windows 7 displays the icon of the paint when a .pdf file is opened?

I ask here because the control panel and change the default programs is a Windows 7 problem.

    Thank you
    Keith

Oh believe me, it would drive me crazy too.

It's probably a long shot, because as far as I know, the taskbar should not use the shortcut icon to the start menu to choose which shows... but we will try.  Just kill this reader shortcut in the start menu and make your own (just open Adobe C:\Program 9.0\Reader and do a right click AcroRd32.exe choose "send to: desktop (create shortcut)" and then falling in your Start menu.)  Try it pin to the taskbar too and then open a PDF file maybe.
I think I know the registry keys control this icon, but I really hesitate to recommend snooping around in it.

    See if this work...

Right-click in a space of taskbar oprn > select Task Manager > processes tab > right-click on explorer.exe > click on end process > Applications tab > click New task... > of Opeb, enter explorer.exe > OK when.

You check office. There the icons? If so, reboot, still exist the icons?
