Hello

Thanks for those tips, I've considered that everything that had happened in the last weeks and remembered that my mouse was the first to show signs of problems when the red light on the bottom went dark and brilliant then a few times.

I swapped the front mouse with a type Wireless and it seems not however solve the problem since replacing it with a different mouse to lead the problem disappeared. In my view, that the old mouse has a hardware problem that shorted supplies USB causing both mouse and keyboard stop working.

allowed for a few days, so I guess that was the problem.

    Good evening

My touch screen worked fine a second, stop working the next day. Just the keyboard worked, so I rebooted and updated and when we turn back, the touchscreen still does not work. I stopped him once again, when he came back on, or the touch screen not the keyboard worked. It's okay if it is anchored or separated. I don't know what to do next. Still, it starts as usual and connects to the wifi.

    Hey @Cherylrios ,

Welcome to the forums of HP.

I understand that the touch screen and the keyboard of your x 2 Split have stopped working.

Without any type of input devices, it would be impossible beyond troubleshoot a hard reset. To do this, remove the shelf and hold the power button to 8 + seconds force a stop down.

  • Missing notification icon for wireless keyboard and mouse in the systray area.

Missing notification icon for wireless keyboard and mouse in the systray area. Was working before the hard disk crash. Had to reload Windows Vista 64 bit OS. Have computer model gateway GT5678.

Chances are good the software to include these icons in notification tray cam pre-installed on the bridge.  If you still all original gateway software, try to see if something in the menu start / all programs of the gateway seems as it can contain controls for these settings and run the program to check and see if it does.  If none of the gateway software help (assuming that all this is still installed) and re-installing the drivers did not work and there is no controls at the keyboard or the mouse, so I know what else to think.  These icons are not available with Vista - they were installed by a third-party device or software driver.

I'm sorry that gateway could not help you.  They are those that you need to do to solve this problem, because it is something that they installed with the original computer which is not re-installled after you change hard drives.  They should know what software for it and power point yoo to a download site, or you send a disk with this software.  We can't really do anything else to help you.

Everything is OK, when they are not connected, and they work fine when they are connected after boot.

Someone has any idea how to solve this problem?

    Hello

I don't think there is a way to solve this problem. Also, I assume it is the related issue of the BIOS. Is perhaps the time to be up-to-date and use new and compatible equipment. ;)

    Thanks for the information,

I have a few links that may be useful for you. Here is a link to information on the reduction of heat inside the computer. Heat is one of the main causes of the computer freezing and becoming unresponsive.

Here is a link with some troubleshooting for lock upward and performance problems. I also recommend doing a clean boot on the computer. You will thus limit the start up programs that might cause a problem. Here is a link with instructions on how to do a clean boot.

  • PC runs, but does not start. Monitor, keyboard and mouse with no signal.

PC runs, but does not start. Monitor, keyboard and mouse with no signal. Pretty much. And when you want me to remove the battery of the bios, or whatever, it seems tight and hard to get out because it is surrounded by other elements.

All fans work, the power/battery or anything that works I think that, since there is a fan on the right where it is and it seems to work. I remember what happens before, I don't know, but before that, there are many gels. This error below was made before all this happened, but I managed to run f8 and then run normally until it freezes again. Then, after that, it runs but does not start. No beeps etc. The best fans will have plenty of vouches and Bravo to wherever you like me to vouch or maybe send the great service that you provide to administrators if that's even possible, haha.

    Thanks in advance.

It is a sign of a lack of food.  Looks like you have a desktop computer?

Power supplies run about $50.  It is a rectangular box at the corner of the system in which the power supply will from the outside.  It's a pretty standard form in most of the PC and with a little investigation thorough replacements can be found.

It is usually held in place by 4 screws and can be held in place with a spring clip.

Most essential, is that you need to buy a replacement with the right number of straight plug forms to adapt to your PC.

This seems more complicated than it really is and takes about 5 to 10 minutes to do the replacement.

Look at the power output of the power supply failure and buy a new, more powerful.  New desktop PC usually come usually with a diet under size and what are the causes these failures is too strong a request for devices you have connected.  So, buy one with a higher power rating.  Usually about 500 Watts does the trick.

If you do not feel upwards to this task, a technician should not charge you much like this.

  • Windows 7 - USB keyboard and mouse do not work once Windows starts

    The following happens occasionally:

The keyboard works perfectly in the BIOS, the post OFFICE and when the Windows 7/64 Ultimate starts (I can tell the [Numlock] led shines). But when you see the Windows login screen, both, USB keyboard, USB mouse and stop working.

I can say this from the [Numlock] LEDS go off and, mouse and keyboard, does not.

There is no discernible specific deadline. Even wait minutes does not get the mouse or the keyboard back from work. In this case, the only way to get both mouse and keyboard, back from work is to reset the machine.

I noticed this strange behavior with several keyboards, mice and different motherboards. So, it doesn't seem to be a problem related to a particular device.

Independent since I also noticed the following:

    • I am currently using a card mother GIGABYTE Z68XP-UD3-iSSD. If I activate XDR (caching system with the small SSD disk) then Windows 7 starts up very quickly but keyboard and mouse get disabled for about 5 seconds when the login screen appears.
      .
    • During the installation of Windows, the keyboard rarely has not activate during the POST at all.

I noticed that several people share the same problem. Is this an inherent problem USB HID? Or is there a bug in Windows that should be fixed?

    Hello

This might be a question of power, where Windows is shutting off the power to your USB ports. Try this:

    Open the Device Manager
Click on the tree "Universal Serial Bus".
For each "USB root hub" do the following-
    Right-click on 'USB hub root'
    Select Properties
    Click the power management tab
Make sure that the box "Allow the computer to turn this device to save power" is NOT checked.

Try restarting now. If all goes well, that will take care of the issue.

  • Satellite A660 - keyboard and mouse start clicking on self

    Hi all

I bought a Satellite A660 yesterday, and he begins to show a problem with the keyboard and mouse as well. The two begin clicking one for himself, and after some time, stops, but again. I did all windows 7 updates but didn't solve.

Anyone know what I can do? Regardz Alex

I recommend you to install the recovery image again (recovery disk with F8 at startup option).
After that do what you will get new out-of-box state. Do not install the updates. At first check to see if the problem persists.
If so, contact your dealer as soon as possible and ask for Exchange.

  • Need help to get my mouse recognized, all started after the installation of the center of the keyboard and mouse

Original title: Microsoft mouse and keyboard Center

    Hello

I'm sure this question has been asked and answered before.
But I just bought a mouse Microsoft Sculpt comfort, downloaded and installed M and K Center. But it does not recognize my mouse, I plugged the mouse to my laptop until I downloaded M and K Center and it worked fine, but all I want to do is program the side button.
I use a Lenovo ThinkPad X 61 with the latest drivers for Bluetooth and Win 7 Pro.
Is there something I need to do to get my mouse to be recognized by the centre of keyboard and mouse?
    M

    Hi Matt,

    Please write to us.

I recommend you to uninstall the drivers of mouse from the Device Manager, then use this link http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/en-us/p/sculpt-comfort-mouse#support to install the drivers. Please select the operating system and the correct version before installing.

Same thing applies to the mouse and keyboard Centre has as well, use the same link to install the updated drivers after you uninstall from the control panel.

  • PowerEdge 840: USB keyboard and mouse not working not.

    Hello everyone.

Yesterday, I pursached a used Dell Poweredge 840 to function as a backup server, I'm having a few problems with it but I can't understand.

I installed the server with Windows Server 2003 x 86 edition and downloaded the drivers on the Dell site. It works perfectly, except for one problem:

USB keyboards and mouse refuse to work.

PS/2 works fine however, but any USB keyboard or mouse will not work.

Flash USB drives read very well, therefore I used to recover some files on the machine before, but it was connected to the network, USB keyboard and mouse do not work.

They are not recognized at startup and do not allow to enter the setup of the BIOS after Windows has started, that they are not always recognized. Windows displays the device as unknown device.

I tried to boot from a live CD of 14.04 Lubuntu, in which the USB keyboard and mouse do not work either. Only PS/2 wants to work.

I have tried different types of USB mouse:

    • Microsoft mouse
    • Acer OEM mouse
    • Mouse laser Logitech M-U0007

None of them could work, although they work fine on my laptop, the main file server which is a model of HP and Dell Optiplex desktop computer.

I tried a few different USB keyboards as well, but they refuse to work.

I ended up borrowing a pair of keyboard and mouse PS/2 to configure the server, but I want it to work with my USB keyboard and mouse.

Just for the record: the USB flash drives do not work very well, it's just the keyboard and mouse is not working.

Anyone know how I can get there?

    Thanks in advance,

    Dominique

    Hello.

Unplug all devices connected to the USB and PS/2 ports. Unplug the AC power cable, wait about 1 minute and then press in and hold the button for about 15 seconds. Reconnect the power and power on the server. Connect the keyboard and mouse to the USB ports and try again.

This is equivalent to the old rule of iron of computing: If you have important files on your PC, then you need to back up an external medium regularly. Problem request not do or wait until you have a major problem. Fortunately, Windows 7 gives you a loop hole. Here's how it works:
    1. get a disk external 2.5 "in a USB case.
    2. connect it to the PC.
    3. set your BIOS so that it uses the DVD drive as its primary boot device.
    4. start the computer with the Windows 7 repair CD or with your Windows 7 installation DVD.
    5. press a button if you are prompted to start from the DVD.
    6. When prompted, select "Safe Mode Command Prompt".
    7. connect as administrator if you are prompted.
    8. Select repair when prompted.
    9. Select command prompt.
    10. save your files or folders on the external USB drive (or a flash drive).
If you are not familiar with the commands of copy in the command line environment, ask a friend gifted in computer science to help you.

After solving the problem of keyboard and mouse, do you a favor and use the USB disk as backup media. On a regular basis.

  • Delays in the keyboard and mouse

As I ran my Windows 7 update on 11/10/12, my keyboard and mouse are delayed intermittently.  This happens in gmail, hotmail and other web applications.  It doesn't seem to be a problem in word or excel or other programs Ms.  I uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox 16.  When I type and letters to catch up later, they are not accurate. Any suggestions?  My laptop is an Acer Aspire 5820 T.  Thank you.

Looks like you may have a virus or other malware. Get your updated antivirus program and start safe mode.  Note that some viruses can hide from your normal antivirus program, so you really need to scan mode without failure.  To enter in Safe Mode when you turn on first, press F8 on every seconds until you get the menu, and then select Safe Mode.  Then run a complete system scan.

If that suits him fine. If this is not the case, use system restore to go back to an earlier date at the beginning of the problem.  To run system restore, click Start-> programs-> Accessories-> System Tools-> system restore.  Click on the box that says show more restore points.
    -
You can check the corrupted system files.  Open an administrator command prompt and run SFC if the above does not help. Click START, and then type CMD in the search box, right-click on CMD. EXE, then click on run as administrator. Then from the command prompt, type sfc/scannow.
    -
Finally if all else fails, you can look at the rather cryptic system event log.  To do that click on start-> Control Panel-> administration-> event viewer tools.  Once in Event Viewer system log-click and scroll entries looking for these "error" with indicator see if you can find guidance on where the problem may be.
    `
When you get your system in good working condition, I invite you to back up your system up to an external hard drive and it puts regular periodic updates.

I hope this helps.  Good luck.

  • Lock keyboard and mouse or never dies updated 64-bit logic

I recently updated my computer to Windows 7 32 bit, Windows 64-bit. Continues to feel something strange. My mouse and keyboard blocking either upward or right dies. I tried to dust off my PC, I tried to reinstall the drivers, the search for new drivers, even reformatting the PC, but nothing works. I was told that there could be something stopping electricity to travel on my USB slots, I find this doubtful however. As I've said a few times they simply to lock, the red light of my still shines laser mouse and my keyboard lights also light up. If I reconnect to another USB port, sometimes they work. The pc makes the little noise that when something is connected. It is even said that it installs the drivers... There is a 50% chance of it remains nonfunctonal or he started working for a while yet. Sometimes it's just one or the other who turns off, it is not always both at the same time. I also tried connecting USB keys and a portable hard drive USB slots that malfunctoned to see what is happening. They get registered very well, but if I try to put the mouse and keyboard in his place, I get no such results until I restart.

    Hello

    (1) did you check connect the keyboard and mouse to another computer?

    (2) what is the number of brands and models of mouse and keyboard?

    Method 1:
I suggest you to run the fixit and check if it helps.

Hardware devices do not work or are not detected in Windows
    http://support.Microsoft.com/mats/hardware_device_problems/en-us

    Method 2:
I suggest to start the computer in Mode safe mode with network and check whether you are faced with the same question. If the problem does not occur in Mode safe mode with networking you perform the clean boot to find what service or startup item is causing the problem.

    Step 1:
Restart your computer in safe mode with network and check if the problem persists.

If it works fine in safe mode try performing a clean boot in order to find the cause root.
    Step 2:
If the issue happen not in Mode safe mode with networking, try to set up your computer in a clean boot state and check to see if the same problem happens.
By setting your boot system minimum state helps determine if third-party applications or startup items are causing the problem.
How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista or Windows 7:

Note: After the boot minimum troubleshooting step, follow step 7 in the link provided to return the computer to a Normal startup mode.

  • Connection keyboard and mouse USB Wired stall

    Hello

My computer repeatedly interrupts the connection to my Wired USB mouse and keyboard.  Usually around one every 30 seconds, the connection falls for 1 to 1.5 seconds, then comes back.  Meanwhile, the cursor hangs - I can't click anything, and I can't press any keys on the keyboard.  For example - when I type, I have my keyboard will stop working for a while, and no text will appear.  This is particularly problematic when I play games.

I tried to reboot the computer, reset the SMC and the mouse and keyboard.  I also tried all USB entries on my mac (4 in total), and the problem persisted with each of them.  This leads me to believe that it is either a problem with all the USB inputs, or a software problem.

I have an iMac 27 inches, mid-2011 with OS X El Capitan 10.11.6 (specifications: 3.4 GHz Intel Core i7 processor, 16 GB with 1333 MHz DDR3 memory and storage capacity of 2 TB).

I use a wired USB (Logitech G402) mouse and keyboard USB Wired (Razer BlackWidow Stealth).  I have the latest version of Logitech Gaming Software and Razer Synapse installed for support.

    I would appreciate help.

Check if there are updates available driver.

To check if the problem is with the USB to your Mac controller, test with a different keyboard or mouse.

To check the extensions conflicts, etc., try the startup mode.

    -----

Restart in Safe Boot mode by holding down the SHIFT key at startup. Secure boot is quite slow because the operating system performs some cleanup and verification tasks, so give it time. Once you're completely connected, restart normally.
