Keyboard broken on T410

I broke 2 keys on my Lenovo T410 recently and I will try to find replacement keys or even a new keyboard to replace the broken one, although I seem to be unable to find a dealer in Switzerland who can provide Lenovo keyboards. Tried to call the Hotline but when invited to press 1 or 2 it did not work (tried several times and on multiple calls) and then the call disconnects. Can someone tell me a dealer of keyboard in Switzerland? TX

Normally when I have Thinkpad go I was able to get the parts off Ebay or ricardo.ch

Shops like digitec.ch or Microspot.ch also have original parts from time to time, I would check there as well.

  • IdeaPad Y400 keyboard broken after installation of Ubuntu. Sent in, Lenovo has sent back still broken.

I have a Y400 Ideapad, purchased in December 2012, delivered with Windows 8. He has recently due to a malfunction after trying to install Ubuntu as a secondary OS. It was very difficult to get installed Ubuntu because UEFI and Secure Boot really tried to stop him, but I have finally installed it and the two operating systems, has been working for about 24 hours. Then, Ubuntu was able to start. On several occasions. Then I started Windows and it seemed that he was working again, except that from time to time when I tried typing, the keyboard type keys I had not touched and then stop responding for about 30 seconds. After that, it would still work for a little while.

I ran OneKey Recovery to try to solve this problem, wiping my hard drive and reinstall Windows 8 from scratch. Still doesn't solve it. He actually glitched once while I was still setting to the top of my Windows profile, before he had even started for the first time.

So I sent my laptop for Lenovo and, a week later, they sent back with a new keyboard (despite me telling them that it probably wasn't the problem). He worked for the next few days, but as of today, he started glitching again, much. I don't want to send my laptop for Lenovo again because I need for the class I'm taking. Also, when they sent it the first time, they have not even put it together right. The rear panel was not at bottom, and panel below which was actually folded so that one of its tabs fit on the side of my laptop instead of being inside.

I really need to solve this problem, but I'm doubting the capacity of Lenovo to do, and I don't want keep it will send if it simply means that I won't have a laptop for 1-2 weeks and then I'll get it broken back yet more. Also, I need even Ubuntu, even if they do not fix it then I have to reinstall Ubuntu and it will probably break again. Not to mention, they will probably wipe my data from it.

    Found a thread discussing this:

    http://forums.Lenovo.com/T5/IdeaPad-Y-U-V-Z-and-P-series/IdeaPad-Y400-keyboard-auto-typing-and-out-o...

Turns, the Y400s have a defect. If you select always "on USB" in the BIOS / menu UEFI, it messes up your keyboard. I have activated it when I was trying to get my computer to recognize a USB boot.

I'm surprised a Lenovo support is not already aware of it. I talked to Lenovo about a dozen employees, including a supervisor and a representative of the customer relationship and no one suggested she could relate to my BIOS settings.

  • Clip on keyboard broken in Satellite A200

Hi there of the computer guru! First time poster, I was replacing my speakers in my laptop satellite A200 when the Clip that keeps the keyboard inside the motherboard cable broke.

Now, the bit that broke is not the part attached to the motherboard itself, it is a plastic clip that pushes the cable in and the sort of clips in the main motherboard for the cable clip.

Any help would be great as im sick of using an external keyboard.
    Thank you in advance.

I just need to know what the clip and where to get one of. Thank you

  • Keyboard broken on Satellite Pro 410cdt? Erroneous characters are shown

Hello guys, my oldies Satellite Pro 410 CDT notebook, with BIOS updated to 6.20, which I am trying to install in the w98se SO. I have a few problems I cannot solve:

    1. I formatted a 4.3 GB of a booklet of 70 TB HDD, into two partitions of 814 MB and another with the rest. In partition D, the major one that I copied all 410 as w98se drivers for its installation. These options I did in the Pc with Partion Magic Tower and the Explorer of Windows XP.

Reinstalled HARD drive in 410 CDT, the screen shows me the following message is displayed:

"THIS BASE WAS ABANDONED BECAUSE THIS MACHINE DOES NOT HAVE ROM BASIC, I USED TOSHIBA BASIC.
However many I looked there manual reference is not made to this message, can they tell me that this happens?

    2. when I format the HARD drive in another Pc I need to book a space in so that it is a system to make its copies in hibernation? That is, in the booklet of 70 to 100, they save 32 MB at the end of the HARD drive. Everything I need to resevar for 410 cdt and in this place?

3 when I start one laptop with a windows 98 without ramdisk boot disk, which allows me to load the most basic thing in MSDOS, I check that the keyboard isn't as must, that is to say, some of the keys they show on the screen characters that do not match them, others prove two or three at the same time not do anything about it either by supporting the fixed cursor, for example, rely on the 'DIR', the display shows "dioprt" keys, back, he is not yet, if I press the button Y on screen PY appear, and if I messing P also apararece ON PY, etc..

    4. when I installed the HARD drive it into one that before she had installed W98SE in my PC, there seemed no point message 1, but once the loaded WORD of the keyboard also met as described in point 3.

The truth is portable it wants to recover for office work and a little more, and depues of enough hours I could not solve all the problems commented. Please, if you can help me I would be eternally grateful.

Thank you and best what is the Spain.
    Pako.

    Hello

I m not 100% from one point because I've never seen this error message but I studied in the internet and somewhere has suggested that this error may whether or not poster because the boot partition was not enabled Active.

2.) I don't think that you need to book anywhere on the HARD disk for hibernation mode. Hibernation mode all data and settings are saved in the local file. It s a part of the operating system.

3.) for me it's not easy to tell if the keyboard is bad or only the software environment can not detect the functionality of the keys properly. To make sure if the keyboard is working properly you should test in the Windows operating system

  • Compatibility of the broken keyboard Pavilion dv6

    Hello

    I have a keyboard broken on a:

    Laptop HP Pavilion dv6-6110ez (LS222EA)

I checked the keyboard is faulty by testing virtually everything and then disconnected - manic BIOS, beep stops. In the contrary case, the PC boots, so it bascially functions and also perfectly fine.

There are also a few messages in the forums with similar symptoms - false characters appearing, "auto-repetition", etc.. Seems to be a classic problem, but makes the PC unusable without an external keyboard.

The replacement part is 640436-BG1 - Swiss layout (the original HP & Flextronics P/N is 634139-BG1).

But this part is not available to the user of part of HP or through HP replacement parts shop, or at the local (Switzerland) offical HP parts supplier.

The exact part is available from 3 Parties at an apparently inflated price, but not locally (--> customs issues!)

I can get a similar piece (570228-111) from a local supplier at a price reasonable. They claim that the compatibility is a fairly wide range of HW dv6-6xxx and 7xxx dv6, dv6-6110sw dv6-6117eg, which seem to correspond to the models mentioned in the service and maintenance guide relevant dv6 and (http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c02842252.pdf).

The local official HP supplier can also deliver this one but wouldn't listed no compatibility.

Keyboards are certainly pretty standard and interchangeable enough individual within the same range of models (makes economic sense), if someone can give me some advice on what replacement keyboard would work in practice?

    Work P/N 570228-111?

    Thanks in advance.

    -Patrick

Thanks for the tip, this is the cheapest around a good margin, but they offer only in the United Kingdom and I live there :-(

He also says "Call for availability", hmmmmm...

I think I'll just grit my teeth and pay the "part replacement premium" after all. At least the 'proper' Party will certainly work.

  • T410s lid open/closed sensor

Is there a way to trick the T410s to think that his cover is closed when it is actually open?

When the T410s is set to External display (projector) only, the complete boot sequence appears on the external display if the lid is closed.  If the cover is opened the sequence starts past to the external display on the screen of the computer, and then in the last part of the sequence.

I would like to have the complete sequence directed to the external display when the cover is opened.  I have my T410s sitting in a sliding keyboard of my office, under the table with the lid open to 180 degrees so that I can use the keyboard of the T410s instead of an external keyboard separate.  It gives me a keyboard with a switch and it also gives me a clean table in front of my screen for administrative formalities, etc.

    Thanks for your comments!

go into your bios, under "config"->"display option"->"device Boot screen.

Choose the analog (vga) or digital displayport or DVI digital depending on how the external display is connected.

  • How can I repair my broken Magic Keyboard and Mouse?

My niece who is 23 years younger than broken me my Apple Magic keyboard and mouse Magic Mouse from Apple for my iMac, and all of them are not in stock because they are used on Mac computers, and I don't want to lose a keyboard and a mouse, another Mac as on my Mac Pro. She said I was due, but I SLEEP, then all of a sudden, I heard the noise. Is there warranty for the keyboard and mouse? How can I replace it with Apple because she says it's worth $ 5, and piano of plastic doll is worth $ 500 and the cheap plastic. Should I go to the Genius Bar because the keys are gone, and the mouse is broken.

Apple does not cover such damages, regardless of warranty.

You can buy new online through a variety of websites looking for them online, that they do not have to come from Apple.com. Stores of brick and mortar like best buy or Wal-Mart can take so if an Apple Store is not an option. There are also alternatives and sometimes a lot less expensive replacements through various vendors such as Microsoft and Targus just to name a few.

  • Satellite Z30-A-1CZ - broken key on the keyboard

    Hello

I am proud to use a Toshiba Satellite Z30-A-1CZ., I bought this winter in Germany.
It is a wonderful machine and work or surf is an absolute joy.

Last week I broke accidentally (left arrow) key on my keyboard.
The key cap is broken, it does not have to clip, the Clip of withholding key and the Cup rubber are still ok.

Can you help me, giving a hint, where can I buy new key, while I can appreciate even more the work?
To return to Germany for the guarantee is not a solution for the moment.

Now, it's horrible, and working on it is a pain

I hope that your team can save my key? You are my last hope.

    Best regards

You can try to contact the ASP from Toshiba in the country where you are resident or currently stay.
The ASP may be able to provide unique key hats...

Another idea: visit a few independent computer stores / downtown dealers.

As I know the keyboard Poretege Z30 uses a key town CAP, editing which should be accompanied by other keyboards...
then perhaps you could get such a ceiling for another similar keyboard key...

  • The broken on Satellite 3000-100 keyboard

Hello, I have a problem with my laptop satellite keyboard. Some keys are broken and I want to replace them, but it's really hard. Now I want to change the keyboard, but I don't know how to do this.

What I have to call a technician to Toshiba or can I change myself?

I'm sorry for my bad English ;)

    Thanks, Luca

    Hello

    > Do I need to call a technician to Toshiba or can I change myself?
Usually, you should always contact the technicians for laptop for these jobs. I mean there is a small risk that you could damage other parts.

On the other hand if you have a good laptop experience you might also replace the keyboard.
What you need is a compatible keyboard.
It could be ordered in the Toshiba ASP in your country.

The keyboard is closed by 4 screws that are hidden under the plastic cover.
Pull the right side on the cover of the band and lift. But be careful because of the cable on the right side. Then gently release the cable from the connector on the tape cover, then lift the cover of the band on.
Remove the four keyboard screws that attach the keyboard and then slide the keyboard toward the back until the keyboard cable is released under the superior logic.
Disconnect the keyboard connector and second VGA connector, then lift the keyboard up and out.

The procedure is not difficult for someone who has already disassembled a laptop. But once again; If you don t have the necessary experience, then don t go and ask a technician for help.

    Good bye
