• Keyboard does not type the correct characters after upgrade to Windows 8

  After the upgrade to win 8 from win 7 on my laptop, that some special character keys don't work in the exact way. For example, when I press SHIFT + @-> I get "result and vice versa.

  Also the sign of the backslash works. It gives the character # and hash gives me character £.
  Any help?

  Another possibility is the incompatibility with the constant guard of Comcast program, which is not compatible with Win 8.  I had the same problem (1-0 on the main keyboard keys don't work), but once I uninstalled the constant guard, everything worked again. (Of course, I had to reinstall Norton.)  Thanks to a person of a forum package for the suggestion!

  Check the physical state of the keyboard cable & its connections, unless it's the built-in keyboard of a laptop.

  Go to control panel, device, Group seized keyboard keyboard Manager.  Search for error icons & info then try to right-click, update the driver.

  Go to the manufacturer's support site & get their recommended driver update, then install that.

  If nothing else worked, then go to control panel configuration, device, Group seized keyboard keyboard - Manager do right click Uninstall and then let Windows redetect & reinstall the keyboard from scratch.  This may require a reboot.

  I'm sure you know very well that if there is a problem like yours you can not do a lot to resolve. If the keyboard buttons don t work so the most that it can just be a mechanical malfunction.

  I put t think you can fix that. You can try to connect the external keyboard and check how it works. If there is no problem I guess that the internal keyboard needs to be changed.

• Microsoft Wireless Multimedia Keyboard does not completely work in Vista

  I have the MS Wireless Multimedia Keyboard 1.1 installed on my PC.

  I recently had a few separate issues with my computer and technology at Geek Squad did some work cleaning on my PC for best performance and to get rid of a bad program.  I am running Vista SP2.

  On my keyboard, there are a series of buttons on the top which opens to different folders, or programs.  I had to open Excel and open Word.  The others are default Media Player, email, IE 8, My Documents and my pictures.  Everything worked correctly and opened the program folder / to, before cleaning.  Now mail, IE 8, and Media Player buttons still work, but others did not.  However if I open the Microsoft Keyboard program buttons become functional and remain so until I restart the computer. The keyboard works fine otherwise.  Y at - it a boot option which can have been withdrawn inadvertently during the cleaning process, which is the cause and if so how can I have reconstitute?

  I have a Tosh Sat S50d - A - 10 H, and the keyboard has stopped working.

  I can't type anything in Word, Notepad, or do a search... Research is essential because there is no start menu and have Windows 8.1.

• keyboard won't type shift characters after upgrade of Windows 8

  The top row of shift characters and numbers will not work since I upgraded to Win8. Can I use the numeric keypad for numbers, but I have to copy / paste from a Word document to connect to sites since I can't use the symbol @. I have a Pavilion notebook dvv-7030us, Win8 running. I spent in the support page drivers and downloaded all the drivers updated available. I changed the language of the keyboard to each available English version. I ran the update of the BIOS as well. Nothing works so far. I went to the devices page and run diagnostics - he says: this device does not work correctly - no he isn't! Not the end of the world that I can't use the top line characters but it IS very annoying and a waste of time, having to copy / paste a word document whenever I need to use wildcards. Curiously, the works for keyboard just fine in MS Word and, thank God, on the first page of connection to start my computer.

• El Capitan keyboard does not not after reboot

  I have a Macbook Pro 13 inch with OS X El Capitan 10.11.6

  After one of the recent improvements, I met a problem, if I take my mac, the keyboard and the trackpad to respond enough lag (if I constantly try to move the cursor, he'll have a time and then for like half an hour it will completely stop responding and after this the other repeats). It only happens after reboot and only on the login screen. So if I put my mac to sleep and then wake up, everything will work perfectly. Same thing if I managed somehow to connect, once the keyboard and trackpad respond correctly. The only button that works fine after reboot is the power button, but it doesn't help much, because it charges does not solve the problem somehow: as soon as the user selection screen, keyboard and mouse stops responding again (or should I say "start answering from time to time").

  Try again in Safe Mode.

  Start up all by holding down the SHIFT key. It takes five minutes longer because it is a disk first aid on the way up, and you MUST provide your user name and password, even if you normally the automatic connection.
