  Hi guys.

  As you know in 10 anniversary update windows, you can switch between outputs sound when the headphone is plugged directly from the sound icon in the taskbar, but it does not work as it should. If the headset is unplugged then the sound comes from the speakers and they are plugged in when the noise is coming from the headset and I can't select speakers. It shows two devices, but when I select one of them the speakers are selected. Also I tried to playback devices, but still, I can't put the headset as default playback device.   If you remember, I had problem with the IDT driver after upgrade to windows 10 and other updates. I'll be back to tell you good news. Finally, I solved the problem partially and I'll explain what I did.

  Today, I found that there is some audio drivers in the microsoft catalog site, so I went out there and looked for a codec high definition audio. A list came and saw that there are three tempo IDT Audio driver that are compatible with windows 10. They are all IDT Audio driver version 6.10.6504.0 and they are made in 2015. I downloaded all the drivers of three and tested. The first two of them does not solve my problem but the last which is "Tempo driver update for codec IDT high-definition" made in 08/05/2015 with 13.1 MB did the job. I must mention that you need to install this driver on generic windows sound driver for good results. If you install hp IDT drivers probably do not get good results. After installing this driver now I am able to switch between outputs audio (headphones and loudspeakers). The driver can detect my headset exactly as what it is. He shows me an output until I plug in my headphones and it then adds another exit in the helmet. I put my headphones or internal speakers as default playback device which I couldn't do with other drivers. There are just two problems that does not matter much to me, and I can't ignore them. The first is the light of the button mute on the keyboard does not work with this driver which is not very important, and the second is that there is no Equalization of beats in this driver and instead there is an audio driver IDT, which is very similar to the equalizer, but it beats not affect only the internal speakers the headphones that is more important to me because the sound via the headphones is very clear and good. If there was some ablity to HP to change this driver and add audio beats and allow also the light on the button mute then it would be perfect. The link for this driver is here:

  I have Toshiba Satellite U50T-A-100. My keyboard just in case work yesterday. I've had it for a year and a half and unfortunately the warranty is only a year (he had already fixed once again under warranty).   Probably the last updates from Microsoft, as well as updated for ELAN touchpad caused some problems and so you cannot use the touchpad or keyboard...
  You could solve this problem using the mouse external USB and loading of the last restore point.

  I had trouble getting my laptop satellite to initialize. Recovery disks & pressing F keys weren't working so I decided to open the laptop to see if there are any loose connections. To my surprise, the laptop seems to work again once I had the USB keys and put back them in! Unfortunately, before that I did, I opened the keyboard and peeked inside.

  When I booted up and tried to use the keyboard keys half of their work and the other half seem to think that they represent two other keys for example if I type the letter 'E' I get '3' and '-' as a whole. After 5-10 minutes the entire keyboard will become totally unresponsive until I restart again. Of course, I think I've done something here because this problem since I opened the bottom of the keyboard. This could be a hardware failure I have caused or is anyway that this issue can be resolved without replacing anything?

  Try Firefox Safe mode to see if the problem goes away. Safe mode is a troubleshooting mode, which disables most of the modules.

  I have a combination and connected mouse microsoft wireless keyboard to my laptop.  The mouse recently 'died' and replace the batteries with new Energizer batteries did not help.  I bought a new Logitech mouse and installed the new USB connector and the mouse worked flawlessly.  However, the wireless keyboard does not work now.  If I reinstall the 'old' or the original USB, the wireless keyboard connector works fine.  The new mouse does not work with the original USB connector.  So now I have two USB connectors that are connected to the computer to make the functional keyboard and mouse.  Is there a solution to eliminate one of the USB connectors?  I realize that the brand of the mouse and keyboard are different.  This is the problem and if so can it be fixed?

  Well, you answered your question yourself. They are different products, so you need 2 USB receivers.

  The alternative is to get a replacement of microsoft mouse if it is still under warranty, they usually do.

  I tried to get an external keyboard (USB) to work with my Z830 running Win 7 (64-bit). I've tried three different keyboards to USB in ports and also a wireless keyboard.

  The keyboard works fine, but I can't the numeric keypad right of the keyboard to work.
  It allows me to move the screen IE when the NUMLOCK is turned off but when the NUMLOCK is turned on, it does nothing.

  I looked in the bios and changed the parameters relating to the features of legact and also the numlock option, but to no avail. The numeric keypad on the keyboard worked on other machines.

  Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

  I'm not quite sure that all this, but my hypothesis is code KBC m is missing in the BIOS.
  Satellite/Portege Z830 keyboard does not support keypad so maybe that's the reason why the numeric keypad on the keyboard can not be activated.
