Keyboard driver Qosmio G20 preventing standby / Hibernation

I can't get my G20 to go to sleep more. Error, said 101 keyboard standby preventing driver. I've deleted and reinstalled several times. Also tried the latest driver from Microsoft, but one installed is the most recent. It was working until I installed a few new applications. I also see a message during said DWWIN box. EXE DOF does not not because of the judgment.

Hello

For me it looks like you have a software problem. To correct this quickly go to start-> programs-> Accessories-> system-> restore computer utilities. From here choose a restore point that you know is older, then when you have installed the software and this problem started. Then restore from there. It should essentially put the computer back a few weeks or however long you choose and go from there. At this point, the program affecting your computer must not be installed and it should work normally. If you have problems make me know. Have a good day and I hope that solves your problem.

  • Keyboard gives erroneous characters of standby / hibernation

    Dear all,

I have an Acer Aspire V5-471. It is fully updated with Windows8.1 and all the MS later updates.

The problem is that sometimes when the computer from sleep / hibernate mode, the keys to generate incorrect characters. It is a major problem when trying to enter my password to logon.

I thought it might be a hardware or driver problem and checked the keys and uninstalled/reinstalled drivers, all to nothing does not.

I then connected with another account and worked well, I created for the first account and who then worked fine until I put the computer to sleep (lid closed). When it happened again, I just changed my user, switched back and it's OK even once in the first count.

So it seems to enter the mode standby/hibernation somehow corrupts a keyboard user account assignment.

Has anyone else had this problem? I searched the site and cannot find all similar occurrences.

    Thank you

    Chas.

No he never had this problem until recently.

I found this article from a search:

    http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/windows_8-security/why-cant-i-sign-into-Windows-8-w...

Seems to be a problem in microsoft with keyboards.

If I try to open a session that get incorrect password.

I click on the back of the switch user screen then click on my login information and can connect OK, it seems when the computer from standby the brining, the KB is considered to be bad for the hotmail account, go to user switching screen seems correct.

I'll try the proposed to the last SYSTEM RESTORE and see if that fix it.

  • Downloading and installing Tuner driver - Qosmio G20

Excuse my ignorance, but I downloaded a file zip on the Toshiba site containing files for installing a tv tuner driver (date updated 11.24.05) for my Qosmio G20 - 139 (PQG21E-01500NEN). The instructions say: '... .cochez the contents of the zip file for details of installation, but I can't find/identify a file that provides instructions on how (there are a few I clicked on this offer a warning about opening files, so, being a novice in these things, I chose to not continue).

Can anyone advise me on what file contains the installation instructions, or how I should go about installing this driver?

Thanks in advance for any help.

    Hi Eduar

I t's not done this before, but as you can see there is no any file setup.exe and install the driver on the usual way. Go to device manager, chose the device and properties you can use the option of installing the driver.

You can also start the Add Hardware Wizard.

  • System drive Qosmio G20 with an image or a clone backup

On another thread, I asked problems with Acronis True Image to backup and cloning of my system (C) disk. Whenever I'm trying to clone my system disk or recover an image, I can create and restore the image, but when I install the player recreated and tries to start, I get as much "windows did not start successfully, I would like to start in safe mode... last good config known... or normal. All the options to return to the screen.

I have two drives 100 GB sata, with the first disc of the op system, programs and the second with my data and therefore has set up the raid as two independent disks and the raid console option disabled.

After trying another product of cloning with the same result, I guess there is something in the Qosmio implemented that is the cause. I read that Qosmio Player is installed on a hidden partition of Linux on the system drive and am wondering if it may not be picked up by the cloning and imaging software and that may cause boot failure.

So I have two questions. First of all, nobody knows why I might be problems starting from a clone or recovery using third party disk image backup software and second, anyone successfully upward and restore a G20 Qosmio Player system, and if so with what software and do you perform all the special functions.

    Thank you very much.

    Hello

Well, I use the Toshiba Recovery CD to restore the operating system on the Qosmio G20.
It has also 2 x 100 GB, but under my computer, I saw only one a HARD drive. I created 2 partitions with the ghost (second option on the recovery CD).
However, I have now 2 partitions but after this procedure, the Qosmio player has been removed. I though that I need to install again simply because of the Qosmio player but I tried to install the Qosmio player after the recovery procedure and it has been successfully.

2 existing partitions and I also have a Qosmio player on my laptop.
But one thing is very strange; I can't locate the partition in disk management.
    But everything works ok

  • Keyboard mailfunctions Qosmio G20

I use my computer to play some Internet games and doing school work on it (mba student). When I play Internet games that I use the arrows too direct autour in-game. Now, I've used my Qosmio for this about a month's time and my verse up arrow has already begun to malfunction.

He suddenly began yesterday to ignore pressing me on it, as I have to press very hard on it and it still does not not more then maybe 20% of the time. So, yesterday, I'm out of the game (one of the reasons for I bought this computer). Once I had a few problems with the 'G' key also, he worked only from time to time. The button "G" started working normally again and makes for some time now, but for how long it would last this time is uncertain. ".

Huge annoying having to push a key up to ten times to write the letter, especially when you write some big as documents raises often do... Someone else has experienced a few keyboard problems, or I just got one of the models of Monday?

Is the key just temporarily anomaly as the G - key?

Yes, I agree with you Dilli. This looks like a malfunction of the keyboard.
I think that it s not a bad idea to replace the keyboard and to check if the problem persists with after the replacement of keyboard.

Sometimes certain keys on the keyboard may not work correctly because of the loose keyboard cable connection, but in your case I think that it s a simply mechanical problem.

In my opinion, only a call to the ASP is necessary.

  • Qosmio G20-126: remote control and keyboard shortcuts media do not work

    Hello all,.

I think have deleted by mistake all my HKLM startup. I managed to restore the necessary executables to start manually but it seems to me miss a very important piece of the puzzle. More precisely the file executable (or Department) responsible for the Qosmio multimedia shortcut keys and remote.

If anyone knows which executable (or service) is responsible for the press shortcuts keyboard/remote control I would appreciate their help to remedy this situation. Also if anyone has the startup configuration by default (see msconfig) to a Toshiba Qosmio G20-126 that would be also a great help for me. Just in case I missed something else.

    Laters,
    Lee.

    Hello

One question; Why you n t use the tool system restore to restore the OS to the point where you have changed the registry entries?

It is a simpler method to restore the settings!

If could also try to reinstall first the common Modules, then the controls.
This application which you can download from the Toshiba driver page!

  • Failure of the system hibernation, "Terminal Server keyboard driver"

In Vista, SP2, coming from hibernation, I get an error message: "the device driver for"Terminal Server keyboard driver"prevents the machine entering hibernation...» If the problem persists, you may need to update this driver. »

In Control Panel in Device Manager, I try to update the device (HID) conventional keyboard driver and it is up-to-date. Also, I tried to update my graphics (ATI Radeon HD 4350). It is also updated.

Puzzled here and you would appreciate the help. Thank you!

    Hi Wally,

This problem can occur if a program installs a kernel mode driver that attaches to the standard keyboard driver (I8042prt.sys) and is not compatible Plug-and-Play I/O packages (IRP) requests. Examples of programs that exhibit this behavior:

    ·         PGPdisk version 6.02 and 6.5 (installs Pgpmemlock.sys and Pgpdisk.sys drivers)

    ·         Adobe Type Manager version 4.0 (installs the Atmhelpr.sys driver)

So, if you have the above-mentioned applications installed on your computer you can try to update the drivers available for the respective applications or uninstall and reinstall.

    Hope this has been helpful.

  • Qosmio G20-114: what are the features of hard drive?

I just deleted one of my harddrives to my G20 114 so that I can work on my data while my laptop was being repaired.

My plan was to put in a case of hard drve 2.5 "usb. I was also going to use a spare hard drive 100 GB I need to act as a backup of the operating system drive.

However, it seems that the arrangemnt pins on the drive, I removed from my Qosmio is different from what I'm used to and it does not seem to hold in the external box. I guess also for this reason that the spare drive I used to fit into the Qosmio. I guess I must be missing something as this may not be the case here. They use some sort of different player in these machines or have I forgot something obvious?

    Thank you very much

    Hello

AFAIK the Qosmio G20 was delivered with S - ATA drives.
The HARD drive is fixed by 4 screws on the HARD drive carrier.
Did you remove this media from HARD disk?
This is perhaps a question why the HARD drive does not fit into the case.

  • Qosmio G20: How to format the HARD drive?

    Hello!

I bought Qosmio G20 last week and now I want to install Windows XP MCE (not recovery, but a CD in Windows XP CD) on this subject but I have a problem formatting of hard drives. There are two hard disks, and when I try to put in the form of Win 98 it is said as "formatting is not supported on C:" or "formatting is not supported on D:". I want to do before installing new windows because I want to create multiple partitions, but to do that I need to format the disc first.

Can someone tell me what I need to do to format discs in this way?

    Hello

You cannot format the HARD C drive because the operating system is running on this HARD drive.
What you can do is to use the 3rd party software that creates the partitions on the HARD disk on the system running. I use partition Magic 8 to create and manage partitions.

  • Installation of Linux on Qosmio G20 - RAID refusing hard drive detection

    Hello
Did anyone had success in installing linux on the qosmio g20? I have two drives of 80 GB each. RedHat Setup is unable to detect the readers for me. I realize account I need a driver disk to get, maybe this works - drivers who do I really need - there are tons of SATA drives - or maybe about it, I'm going the wrong way - any help will be apprecitaed.
    Thank you

    Hello

I didn t try to install Linux on Qosmio G20 but friend of mine told me he has success using Suese 9.3 because there is also the RAID (Redundant Array of inexpensive (or independent) Disks). On this way, you can use two drives in combination for fault tolerance and performance / fault tolerance is the ability of a system to respond gracefully to a hardware or software failure unexpected.

Sorry but I have no more information.

    I have the Qosmio G20-114 P - M 770/XP MCE /... Part number: PQG20E-00D003EN

I've upgraded to Vista... and receive a message from driver error driver Toshiba common Module is blocked because it is incompatible with Windows Vista.

I was running Windows XP MCE. Download a newer version of the driver that would work on this machine and with vista?
I found a later version of this driver for other models...

    Hello

No, you can download the latest version of common for Vista modules because the Toshiba has not released drivers Vista for the Qosmio G20

This error message is displayed on your laptop, because the common modules only work with XP!
If you want to upgrade XP to Vista you must first remove all incompatible applications.

    Hello

Mylène for the long post - but think if give good info, I poss of correct answer:

After the crash of QOSMIO G20... managed to reinstall of XP Recovery DVD-ROM. Immed after, looked at the config with Win Explorer and two hard drives all present and correct. even copied a picture of my images on the D: drive, just to make sure that all aok.

Then downloaded SP3 and tried to install - it reported failure and then shut down the PC. After attempts to get again - until finally resorted to reuse the Recovery DVD-ROM.
Come back XP again - but now, while the BIOS sees two hard drives (reports size, Fab details, etc.), as far as Windows is concerned, it does not exist.

Tried to initialize in disk management - no sign there.
He was then released, put it in a shopping cart, connected to the office and initialized and formatted - then returned to mobile... zilch!

Your kind suggestions and recommendations could save just the remaining strands terrified of hair of a violent end...

    A lot of TIA

    Hello House,

Normally, if the BIOS recognizes the HARD drive, but not Windows, this means that the HARD disk is not formatted, but it must be visible under the Windows disk management.
    You see it now?

If not it is not easy to say what the reason are you should try load default settings in the BIOS and save it. Then start Windows and check if HDD is visible there too.

In the worst case, it s that a malfunction of the HARD disk controller, but what you can test if swap you the two drives and put them in another location.
