Keyboard lost a few keys on Satellite P100 PSPA3E

When I write with the built-in keyboard, some keys are lost. I have to write slowly and check what I write because some keys are not recognized.
I update the driver available al.

I note that in the original operating system in Control Panel, there are two keyboard.
I change the operating system to Windows XP Professional, original. I do the cd of drivers with the old systm to operate and install the new. I do all the present update in the toshiba site. I can't find a driver for the keyboard.
The new operating system, in Control Panel, recognize only one card.

I hope that someone help me, because there's a serious problem.

Best regards.

Hello

I join s1s and also think that you are the first user who reports thereon on Satellite P100. Because of this, you cannot write any serious problem here. Serious problem is something else.

I used the P100 several times and I must say that the keyboard on this laptop model is not good for me because some keys are narrow and I can't write on my laptop Tecra where all the buttons are the same width.

In any case, I also recommend you to use the keyboard a bit slower. There is no separate driver for the keyboard.

Do you know where to buy Windows XP today?

    Any help wil be appreciated.

    Hello

No, as far as I know, you can download a picture of Toshiba.
There is an online platform where you can order a Toshiba Recovery disk but I think your unit is too old.

However, you can try the site:
    http://backupmedia.Toshiba.EU/landing.aspx

If it is not possible to order the disk, you need to install the Windows system and the single drivers can be downloaded from the Toshiba driver page.

I'm not sure how to activate the infrared but I got this cable look like an infrared receiver, but you don't know where it's going.

I used the remote when I bought the laptop from 1st but it was a few years ago...

    Hello

I think that infrared doesn t need to be activated. It s must already be enabled.
But the remote control can be used within Windows Media Center.
I think this will work because my friend of mouse remote control with Windows Media Center as well and it worked well.

  • Good question after Windows update on Satellite P100 PSPA3E

I encountered a problem with my sound card after a Windows Update. It became an old analog tuner with problems of dust on his volume knob. (this is a reference "sounds like" for those old enough to remember) I updated the driver to the most recent DriverGuide.com, no joy.

I even did a complete system restore "with the"product restore disk."" Which fixed the problem until Windows updated the right files for trash again. I don't know what files do the dirty on my card since most of the windows system updates are performed while I "continue to work! Anyone with ideas?

    Thank you

    JD

    Hello

What operating system do you use? XP or Vista?

Satellite P100 PSPA3E must use a sound chip Intel high definition audio Conexant CX20551-22.

I recommend to remove the sound card in Device Manager after installing Windows updates.
Then restart the computer and install the latest audio drivers available that support the sound chip HD Conexant CX20551-22.

First of all, you should try to use the driver for the Toshiba page. If this does not work, check the Intel page!
Please don t forget to restart the laptop after windows update finished.

  • A few questions on Satellite P100-188

Hi, I have a few questions about my new machine I bought recently so please bare with me during their reading...

    (1) I already owned the P30-145 and the sound was superb. The P100-188 is supposed to have the HD + sound stronger. I don't think so... This thing is much quieter and more slender compared to my previous machine!

    (2) the Nvidia badge sticker is missing inside! Normally I would not be embarrassed, but there is a small indentation carved especially for her with nothing on it! - and so a strange look.

    (3) in the bios, there is an option to change the amount of "fan noise" makes the machine. I've set it to 'performance', which is the option to forget noise and go full steam ahead. However, the fan harldy lights! Every now and then, he gives a quick 2 second air burst.

The other day, I was playing the new game 'fear' that works amazingly I would say. But STILL the fan doesn't seem to turn on a large part. I worry a little bit, I must say.

If anyone has read the lot of this right, thank you. Also could you please answer if you had similar problems with yous P100s.

    Thank you

    Hello

    1. as far as I know this unit P100 speakers are placed under the keyboard.
On other units, the speakers are placed above the keyboard. If you use the keyboard it of possible you hands cover the speakers. It is also possible that the volume of the speaker is a little lower because of the miniaturization of portable. However, you cannot compare different notebooks series because strains have another advantage than the other series.

2 I read your first assignment on the missing sticker and I can t believe that such thing is a really a problem for your. I'm don't know if all the P100 was delivered with or without the sticker, but you can contact the dealer where you purchased this device and ask him a label. However, my laptop has not even a sticker, and it's not a problem for me.

3 if the fan is set to performance so that means that CPU notebooks will run with a full performance, which is possible. In this case the CPU is going to produce a lot of heat and the cooling module must run with maximum performance to cool the CPU and decrease the temperature. If temperature decreases the arrested fan or run with low performance. It is a simple fact.

  • Satellite P100 PSPA3A - Touchpad and function keys not working not

    Hello
I'm new to the forum so please excuse my lack of computer skills.

Where my problems began, is that I deleted the driver of my computer keyboard.
I reinstalled and now works with the exception of the function keys.

I tried to install Hotkeys out of the Toshiba web site without success. It will not be loaded on the computer for me.
I also reinstalled "utilities" and in doing so the touch pad mouse has stopped working.

Is someone able to offer, for me, what should I do to fix this?

Thank you very much in advance for your help.
    Sam

I never heard of a keyboard driver deleting, but if some of your buttons work so I think the software is very good. It may be a loose keyboard connector is loose, which is located under your keyboard around the buttons 'Fred '.

I return the phone to the place of purchase and get them to fix it. Less pain for you and an easy solution. Keep it simple, everyone!

    Good luck.

  • Satellite P100 PSPA3A does not start

My son P100 (model no PSPA3A - 17E00P) does not start when you press the START key. I tried to start with and without the battery, but all that happens is the operation turns upward (as do the lights of Harmon/Kardon speakers) for a second, but no fans, disks or such beginning at the same time. THE HARD drive light is not going on either.

    Clues?

This could be due to many things.

Try reinstalling the RAM or different combinations of RAM.
Then remove the battery and AC power for a few minutes and plug it back in that hide them.
If all else fails, it may be a faulty motherboard or video card or cpu.

  • Satellite P100 PSPA3A: Replacement of battery for the RTC

I got an old P100 Satellite System for 3 years. Model # PSPA3A-01R00P.
There is a problem with the clock that he fails to keep time / the correct date.

I contacted my local Toshiba Service Agent inquiring on a replacement RTC battery and was advised that the cost would be $460.00 as it is necessary to replace a complete circuit where the battery is soldered in place.

I guess it's the fault, even if the laptop does not indicate that the battery is defective.
I can't simply afford to spend that kind of money to try to solve the problem.

Any suggestions to remedy the situation.

    Hi Tim

The replacement of the motherboard is always a costly affair, and in my opinion, you should consider various possibilities.
In my view, that a mobo of second hand could be an option for you.
I mean you could google or look on eBay for some laptops second hand P100 with a motherboard works.
I think it would be much cheaper than new.

But listen buddy maybe a RTC battery replacement is not necessary. Maybe the CMOS battery is empty and can be recharged.

AFAIK, you can reload the RTC battery runs the laptop for about 18-20 hours.
Connect the laptops battery and adapter to the machine leave it connected for a longer period.

I wonder if it will help regards

  • What Satellite P100 series includes P100-106?

I have toshiba satellite p100-106. At the back of the machine, my model is PSPADE - G 018010, 3.

When I want to check the version of the bios, some other software or drivers writes article p100-106: what is your PSPA0E, PSPA3E, PSPA6E model. But there is not PSPADE as mine is. I checked it 5 times and it is not 0 it is letter d on my laptop.

    What to choose?
    Thank you

    Hello

I'm not 100% sure, but I guess it works in this way:
Your laptop is delivered and pre-installed with the Vista operating system. Your operating system is complete and new. I don't think that you will find no updates in this short time. BIOS is also the most recent. Other units (Satellite P100-PSPA0, Satellite P100-PSPA3 and Satellite P100-PSPA6) are WXP and they are all supported in Vista. Because of this priority is to support these units due to the installation of Vista.

When the new update will be available for your device, you'll find it under http://pc-support.toshiba-europe.com/vista/, but at present there is no update.

What to choose? Nothing! Be happy with your new toy.

  • How to change keyboard on Satellite P100?

    Hello
Yesterday, I had an accident: spilt Coke all over my satellite p100-115.
Now my keyboard sticks to many buttons. I wanted to clean up. The first button, I've pulled out was RET. But now I can't it again.
Is there anyone who could explain to me how to get out in it the right way?
Or: Is there a way to change the keyboard? If Yes: how much is a new keyboard?

And are there Tips how to clean my keyboard shortcuts? They are also sticky. :/

    Hello

Unique key replacement help much. The entire keyboard needs to be replaced. Like Stefan said please contact partner in your country. You can try to exchange it alone but you will lose the warranty.

I recommend you to make a call and ask how much the replacement will be fresh.
In any case, the keyboard is set with 6 screws and placed undercover KBD, but is not easy to remove this cover. It is fixed with a screw and I don t know exactly where this screw is placed.
