Keyboard not repeat when key held down.

How can I get my wireless keyboard to repeat the letters when the hold key for example 1000000000000000000000.

Seems to be a common fault from what I've read.

Best regards, John

Hi John,.

not a fault, for Apple, it is a feature of easy support use of accented characters and your keyboard behavior depends on the application using your.

More information is here:

How to type accents and symbols emoji on your Mac - Apple Support

In particular the section "repeat a character" describes what is boring to you, I think. But it's exactly like it is described there. For example in text editor you don't tap and hold the letter 'a' for abdelkrim repeated... but in the Terminal, it'll work.

I agree that the copy of the key to the clibboard and using command-V to repeatingly insert is not a very satisfactory solution. More like a workaround solution.

Best regards, Lars

    When I type characters (as well as the arrow keys and backspace) etc they will not repeat when the button is kept pressed and you must wait a few seconds before being able to repeat a character or go back and delete a mistake!  This has been a problem since I accidentally leaned on a button and he kept extensible - a message box emerged by asking (I don't remember verbatum what he said) if I wanted to stop this does not happen - and in my drowsy State, I felt just OK!  I disappeared in the 'control panel' and changed the character of repetition and time short and fast many times and it never changes nothing!  I noticed that when I connect to my computer the character repeat works normally.  I'd appreciate any help because it is frustrating and annoying say the least!  Thank you, Danette

    Hello

    1. have you made changes on the computer recently?

  • Table update do not command button is held down

    Hi guys,.

    My application gets the data and then returns it in a table that is updated after each set of data is read. This part works fine, however I also require the user to be able to hold down one of the two buttons to control the function of an actuator control (forward and backward). Explain it further, when one of these buttons are pressed a voltage is output, releasing the tension is reset. However, the key is held down the table does not continue to date, when the button is released the table then updates through all the values in the queue. I understand that this is most likely a problem with holding the button causing the other user interface events are not processed. I therefore tried to use ProcessSystemEvents(), ProcessDrawEvents(), and experiments using an async timer to control the update of the UI through PostDeferredCallback(), all this without success.

    If anyone can help with a solution that would allow me to run both of these functions required at the same time it would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks in advance

    Ben

    Problem solved by simply swallowing the event, I am able to perform the functions desired!

    I just used my mac. I bought it on January 2014.

    A few months ago I couldn't connect to my mac more. There is nothing special on my mac to record.

    He was showing the wrong password when I tried to connect to my mac. It is overheating sometimes without help.

    So, I brought it to the apple store and they said that the shift key is down and therefore superior letter is all the time. and they could not help me open on the inside. Apple store guys suggested me to display somewhere or send it to the factory.

    My question is

    (1) what should I do

    (2) if I send to the factory or should go to the repair shop.

    you guys have an idea what the problem with my mac?

    I suggest you send to the factory, or if you have an apple authorized dealer / repair shop to fix the SHIFT key first, then a glance as to why the fan is still running hot.

    Maybe something has damaged the keyboard (shift key) area and also the fan internal.

    You can't have something special on the computer, but I'd always spend extra money to repair.

  • Yoga 2 Pro - keyboard is not activated when you open the lid of the screen after sleep

    My Yoga 2 Pro has very often problems to activate the keyboard when I open the screen.

    That's what I do:

    -work with Yoga 2 Pro

    -Close all applications and after that, I close the screen

    -After some time (maybe a few minutes or several hours) I open the screen

    -It will take a few seconds until the screen is turned on (which is expected)

    -at least 50%, the rest keyboard disabled. The backlight cannot be activated and the laptop does not notice any key. I'm unable to log :-(

    -J' I need to close the screen, it takes a few seconds - and when I open the screen for the second time, the keyboard is enabled - not always, but usually. But sometimes the keypad remains disabled, although I try the procedure several times. If that happens, I need to restart the machine.

    All the drivers are up to date.

    @Lenovo: Please indicate how to solve this problem! It's very annoying open-close-open-close-open-... the display up to what the keyboard is finally activated!

    Hi Danielle,

    The first two thoughts that come to mind are supposed to check and "fiddling" the following:

    1 Control Panel > keyboard > Ketboard Repeat Delay and/or keyboard repeat rate.

    2 panel > Ease of Access Center > facilitate the use of the keyboard > disable filter keys or to adjust the applicable rates, if you want to use them.

    I hope this helps.

  • Is it possible that I can do a button repeat its actions while the mouse is held down?

    Is it possible that I can do a button repeat its actions while the mouse is held down?

    You can try the following:

    MouseDown Manager for the symbol:

    sym.setVariable ("t", setTimeout (myRotate, 100));

    function myRotate() {}

    function myRotateInner() {}

    loop should start here

    rotn var = sym.getVariable ("rotn");

    If (rotn = undefined) rotn = 90;

    Console.log (ROTN);

    sym.setVariable ("rotn" rotn - 90);

    var mySymbolObject = sym.getSymbol ("Symbol_1");

    mySymbolObject.$("box").css ({}

    'transform': ' rotateX ("+ rotn +" deg).

    ' - webkit - transform ': ' rotateX ("+ rotn +" deg).

    "transition':"2s ease. "

    "- webkit - transition": "2s ease."

    });

    loop should end here

    }

    myRotateInner();

    sym.setVariable ("t", setTimeout (myRotate, 2000));

    }

    and mouseup:

    clearTimeout() (sym.getVariable ("t"));

    Please note that we are there tie mouseup the symbol, so if you release the mouse outside the limits of the clearTimeout() symbol will not call and the box will continue to run. You will need to take care of it in your programming logic.

  • Kill the MouseEven.CLICK event when the mouse is held down?

    I studied games on Facebook and trying to emulate mouse events management. For example, in ChefVille, you can click on the objects and drag them around. But if you hold the mouse down you pan all the game environment and when you release the mouse button a click is NOT on the object under the mouse. In my tinkering the click event will be triggered by the release of the mouse button, no matter how many time keep the button pressed. How can I keep the trigger CLICK event if the mouse is held down for a certain period of time?

    I don't know that you can cancel a CLICK event in the middle of what is happening (click = MOUSE_DOWN followed MOUSE_UP), but you can start a timer on the MOUSE_DOWN event and its event handler to set a Boolean variable that can make your event HANDLER function used to decide or not to treat a CLICK event.
