Keyboard problem after a drink spilled on my Satellite A100

I accidentally deleted drink in my laptop A100. now the ENTRY and H keys do not work correctly.

How can I fix it?
Help, please.

I don't have repair shop in my area.

Hi Janet,.

Unfortunately, the only way to repair your laptop will replace the keyboard. Generally all the liquids that enter the keyboard leave a residue which shorts the contacts inside and makes one or more of the unusable keys.

Fortunately, the new keyboards are not that expensive to buy and are also relatively easy to replace. See instructions here:-http://www.irisvista.com/

Kind regards

    Hello

the problem was already discussed in another thread: http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=18082

The last message was probably the solution for the whole of the case. The mentioned user that "TfncKy.exe" belongs to the Toshiba Hotkey utility that only needs to be removed and reinstalled for this problem.

In addition, it would be wise to check the registry with CCleaner for example before you reinstall the Hotkey utility.

  • Water spilled on my Satellite A100-680

    Hey!

I have an old (well okay, for me) veeeery Satellite A100-680, it's almost 6 years, and for about a year now it did not work properly. Whenever I look at a video on youtube which is longer than 5 minutes, it crashes.

It's one of the problems - but I accidentally spilled perhaps half a teblespoon CLEAR WATER on the keyboard, and I took out the battery as fast as I could and started wipeing with a tissue.

Then I tried with a blowdrier before I put it in the Sun to dry and now it is completely dry, but the keyboard still does not - I'm writing with another keyboard that I have connected to the laptop. But still, he supported his own letters and for example when I press BACKSPACE it presses ENTER.

The carpet of mouse, or what you call does not work either and when I start the computer it said something about does not connect with the Intel prosessor.

If I ruined my computer for good, or can I do?

To me, it seems that the parts are damaged: keyboard and touchpad.
Maybe the spilled water caused some shortcuts that has damaged the connection between the Council and the parties or parts

Not sure if one only keyboard and touchpad replacement may help you resolve this problem. In the worst case, the motherboard needs to be replaced, but only a technician can provide the answer to this question once the equipment has been tested and verified

    Hello

There is no special application that could control the laptop fans!
The Vista and BIOS itself control the cooling modules!

I do not know if these tips will help you to solve this problem, but you should definitely check out if m your use of the latest version of the BIOS.
But don t mix the different laptop series! Do not forget that you have chosen that good BIOS and the good Bios update procedure.
In addition, try to install all the updates Vista available! The Vista operating system supports an update automatically option. Try this!

  • Satellite L855 - 12N - keyboard problem after upgrade to Windows 10

    Greetings friends,
the problem goes like this: I have a TOSHIBA satellite, L855-12N, Series notebook.

After updrading to win 10, some of my keys (a, n, enter) did not work initially.
If I wait for awhile, they start work later.
I find that I continue to press a button, (for example the button "a") for a long time, I see that he started to answer, then stop again and then answer - stop, until finally it works OK.
I tried to update the drivers, uninstall and then reinstall, but it doesn't seem to work.
Anyone know what's going on, or have any suggestions?
    Thank you.

    You are 100% it's a matter of Windows 10?
Looks more like a hardware problem, keyboard should replace.

Go into the BIOS and test the keyboard in there.
If it goes into the BIOS and then replace the keyboard.

If it's a software problem, try uninstalling the driver for the touchpad Control Panel, then reinstall it via Windows Update.

  • Keyboard problems after upgrade to Windows 10

    Hello

I have problems with my keyboard as by chance after I had updated to windows 10. Right now my "6" does not work and when I press '5' key he made just the following '5666666666666666' and keep repeating 6s forever. If I press the left button down 'ctrl' it is also the exact same thing as the number five keys when you press. I ran utility troubleshooting of windows, so that my driver was updated, and can not solve the problem. Now I'll have to use an external keyboard to type this message. I wonder if I'm to potentially the keys being stripped or is it a problem of windows 10. It causes work very well when you type with the on-screen keyboard and an external keyboard. I have messaged microsoft and they told me the following:

    Method 1:
Try changing the keyboard layout of the English (United States) type language in the search bar and try to change the layout of the keyboard and check if the problem persists. This is to check if this is due to the keyboard layout of the related issues.
    Method 2:
Try to install the drivers for the keyboard in compatibility mode and check if the problem persists. This is to check if this is due because of compatibility issues.
Now, to install in Compatibility Mode, follow these steps:

    a. Locate the executable file (.exe file) for the driver installation program.
    b. right click on the file and then click Properties.
    (c) in the Package name properties dialog box, click the Compatibility tab.
    d. Click to select run this program in compatibility mode for check box, click Windows 8 with which it is compatible with in the run this program in compatibility mode for the list, and then click OK.
    e. double-click the executable file to start the Setup program.

problem is that I don't know how to do the second method

    Any suggestion would be great

    Thank you

    Hello

There is usually no associated with a built-in keyboard driver. Looks like something is off with the material.

It is unlikely that this would cause the actual update of Windows 10. It is possible that the connection between the buttons '5' and '6' are short-circuited, the computer stop typing "6" after a few hours.

If you have a handy toothpick, run it on the sides of the 5 and 6 keys while the machine is turned off. It can clear all grime, press 6.

  • HP Pavilion 17: keyboard problem after BIOS upgrade

This isn't a terribly troubling problem, but I will mention it if HP is the reform of systems of thought from these forums.  I recently downloaded and applied the update of the BIOS HP with HP Support Assistant.  After, my keyboard does not work on the login screen Windows 10.

I connect using a PIN code but can no longer enter the PIN code using the keyboard.  The figures of the 'line' number work very well, however, and as soon as I'm connected, the keyboard works normally.

And, Yes, I have switched Num Lock

    Plug the power adapter.

Press the power button and then press the ESC key.

Now, press the F2 key to enter the interface of PC Hardware Diagnostics UEFI.

    Select the Firmware management

At the next screen, choose BIOS Rollback.

After the update, I found that my wireless HP came with the computer, keyboard no longer allows me to use the number keys and special characters above the letters. Device Manager displays 5 entries on the keyboard, including a PS2 Keyboard tab. Whats up with that? Move to the numeric keypad to enter numbers. If I need a special character, I must enter using the keyboard on the screen. Any suggestions? The other lists all have to do with a Microsoft IR keyboard. So, what is a Microsoft keyboard driver problem or a HP keyboard driver problem?

Fixed! After going on the Microsoft IE10 Support Forum, I found that someone else reported the same problem. Xfinity (Comcast) has a program called constant guard that is part of their suite of security with Norton Security Suite. After you have uninstalled the constant guard, the character number and special keys knit IE10 Desktop. I've not had to uninstall Norton Security Suite.

  • Keyboard problems after install "Microsoft Keyboard Layout Creator"

I bought a new keyboard, a Skyline 895 defender and she did not have some important buttons (such as <> |), so I installed MSKLC 1.4.
But it turns out it was a big mistake. Now I have problems with key combinations such as ctrl + c and ctrl + v.

    The questions are:

Sometimes there entry offset, sometimes the information is not copied to the Clipboard, and sometimes after pasting, I get a random amount of info pasted.

Basically, MSKLC makes my keyboard very unstable and I can't work with my workflow. I've been frustrated because of the randomnes which seems to happen on my PC after installing MSKLC 1.4.

I tried on another pc without MSKLC keyboard and it works perfectly, no lag, no randomness in Clipboard action.

It seems that MSKLC has a bug with combinations of keys. Is there a solution for this? Uninstallation of MSKLC will fix this problem and what are the good alternatives to MSKLC? Or do I have to reinstall windows because of this?

    Thank you!

Hello and welcome to the community!

The most common thing to do after an update which results in problems is to perform an OS reload. Sometimes the update process have errors and others... with a reload often cure the problems.

Official methods, which will be controlled as to what exact OS versions are available:

Non-official methods, which are cleaner and allow you to choose a version of the OS that maybe your carrier (or anyone they control your offers) delays in approval:

Of course, before you start this, you want a good backup link, a manual copy of the memory of your device to your PC and complete documentation of your configuration (identification information of account, adding applications, configurations, etc.). Sometimes, restoring a backup returns unit corruption even, must be eliminated and reconfiguration from scratch can solve that.

Good luck and let us know!

  • Some problems after installing Win 2003 Enterprise on Satellite L310-4012

    Hi friends

I have a laptop L310-4012 and trying hard to install Windows 2003 Enterprise on this subject.
Went through many articles and has even had a long discussion with Customer Support on this one, where it was stated that they do not support Server 2003.

I did most of the installation on my own and most things work except for fingerprint and SD card. Have tried many things but I am not able to use it.

Apart from that, I see unusual things happening as

    1. I'm not able to close down the machine after uisng camera. If I don't use camera, it works fine
2 CTRL + ALT + DELETE. The task manager has grayed out
3 seems as if the laptop doesn't work that fast.

Need your help guys to decide as to whether I should use windows 2003 or not

    Ritesh

    Hello

I m wondering that you have installed Windows Server 2003 on a laptop. Why do you need a server on a laptop OS?

However, maybe I can help you:

    (1) If you have used the web cam, the software is already started and you should see an icon in the taskbar. Right click on that and close the software. Then you should be able to stop the laptop.

    (2) what you mean with gray? You can also start the Task Manager, if you right-click on the taskbar and select Task Manager.
But I believe that there is something wrong with the operating system. Normally this has nothing to do with the laptop or the hardware.

    (3) have you installed the chipset driver? I think the reason for this is why Server is not supported on mobile phones, and therefore you can t find drivers.

If you really need this OS to test something that I would install on VMware or Microsoft Virutal PC. On a virtual machine, you must not install any driver.
