Keyboard tends to repeat difficult maaking typing accuratee strikes

OK, so I fixed the subject line to show my problem. I have many more diffficulty type exactly with my dm1z I have with any keyboard previously.

Any ideas on why the dm1z is so prone to this error and how immprove accuracy?

dm1z

Windows 8 x 64

I worked on the problem I have been experiencing is called "bounce keys. Some keyboards have a rebound more than others, with result the accidental double-presses.

The solution is to go to

Control Panel > accessibility > change how your keyboard works > turn on filter keys > turn on bounce keys.

Now the next problem is, minimum time windows allows for the option "how long should the computer keystrokes?" is 0.5 seconds. Which means, unless you're a very slow typist, it is very difficult to type 'school' with this set, because you will tend to receive 'Sam '.

So, to lower the BounceTime less than 500 ms...

1. turn on the options mentioned above, save and exit.

2. start regedit (in the run menu or start menu)

3. navigate to my reply to Panel\Accessibility\Keyboard Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Control

4. set the following values:

AutoRepeatDelay = 500
AutoRepeatRate = 50
BounceTime = 35 (in MOH I find 35 is fine, but you can reduce if extra needed)

5 restart the computer to make the new values to take effect and everything should work well, at least it did for me!

How can I solve this problem?

    Advice please.

    Hello

To be honest, I don't know what you're talking about.
If your keyboard does not match the language of the keyboard, then you should change that and should add new language.

In this case, you will be able to switch between languages, using SHIFT + ALT shortcuts

Of course, you can also remove the other languages. In this case, the SHIFT + ALT will not function.

  • Keyboard does not appear what is typed

I recently bought my laptop and the keyboard makes me crazy...

    1. I have to hit the S and sometimes button R very difficult to get them to sign up, well given that it could be because I'm not used to the keyboard... but I think it goes beyond that.

    2. it sometimes stops showing what I'm actually typing and start cycling through the Qwerty (for example ' ~ 1234... ") qwertyu... jkl;' ("etc.). I particularly noticed in Skype, but also happened in IE a couple of times. It is not often in each program - in other words, Skype can show random letters, but in IE, I can type perfectly normally.

    3. in collaboration with the above problem, it will sometimes enter the incorrect letter in a word - letters that are too far to just be typos on my behalf...

    Can someone help me?

    Hello

What cell phone do you have?
Have you tried a BIOS update?
    If this isn't it!

In very rare cases, the update of the BIOS might help the case, there seems to be a problem with keyboard and in this case, it must be replaced but a service technician.

  • Dell laptop "on the keyboard of the screen" NUM LOCK - typing Unicode ASCII does not

We use passwords that require the inclusion of the ASCII Unicode for connections.  In the past, computers Dell laptops with Windows 7 ultimate (64 bit) using the keyboard (OSK) screen provided us the ability to ASCII Unicode using the numeric keypad and the combination of the Alt key and the numeric value of type.  However, the new Dell laptop computer running Windows 7 that have the ability to access the OSK to connection but the Alt + Unicode does not work.  What is the reference for this?

    Hello Alberto,.

Thank you for giving us the opportunity to help you.

I understand that you are unable to type ASCII Unicode characters via the keypad on the new Dell laptop. After having past the post and check online this seems to be a question of character that is specific to mapping laptop manufacturers. Different laptop have different character mapping.

I would like that you press 'key Fn + Ctrl key + key LShift' simultaneously to enable and disable the entry of special characters.

Based on the combination above does not help, I would ask you to contact Dell Support for more information on the mapping of characters to the new laptop. Dell support will also be able to provide you with the exact combination, you will need to type the ASCII Unicode characters.

You can also post the query on the Dell Forums:

Feel free to post on the Microsoft Community, in case you have questions and issues while working in Windows.

When you type 't' 't5' letters come and type 'y' "y6" when rises. Nothing has been poured into the laptop. I suspect that it overheated. Thanks for the help.

    Hello

It seems mechanical mistakes here since all 4 characters are close together. The first thing I would check to see something such as metal, wet... or even a piece of something is sitting under these keys. The second thing, I would check to see any damage to the power cable under the keyboard. The next book you shows how to remove the keyboard and then put it back:

  • HDX16 with VISTA keyboard repeat letters

My HDX16-1140us with VISTA (Home premium) reeepeatsss leettters whhen I tyyype; yeess likke just thiiss is helll! Sometimes he, s the first letter so that 'rent' the P has disappeared!  Please help. Thank you a show

    Hello @upsetuser ,

    Welcome to the HP Forums!

I understand that your keyboard repeats letters when typing.

Make sure that the sticky keys is not enabled. To check if it is enabled press SHIFT 5 times repeatedly and you should hear a beep or receive a pop up on the activation or deactivation of the sticky keys.

If StickyKeys is not enabled, perform a hard reset on the phone. Turn it off, remove the AC adapter and remove the battery. Press and hold the button for 30 seconds and reinsert the AC adapter and the battery. Turn on the laptop and test.

The language of the keyboard reset may also help:

    1. click on start.
    2. click on Control Panel.
    3. click on clock, language and region.
    4. click on the region and language.
    5. click on the keyboards and languages tab.
    6. click on change keyboards...
    7. on the general tab, make sure that English (United States) - U.S. is selected in the default input language field.
    8. click on any other keyboards in the list of installed services.
    9. click on remove.
    10. Repeat for all other non-English (United States) keyboards.

Finally, reconnect the keyboard cable. There is no guide service available for your laptop so it will require a careful disassembly of the laptop to disconnect the keyboard connections and reconnect them.

If none of this works, you may need to try a restore system before the issue started. To do this tap F11, while the laptop turns on to access the HP Recovery Manager. Select the option system restore and choose a date before the problem started. After restoring to test the keyboard. A recovery of the system (reinstalling Windows) should be the last resort before you send the laptop for service.

If you decide the laptop needs to be repaired you can contact HP telephone support at 1-800-474-6836 in North America. For all other regions click here.

    Hope this helps!

I would suggest trying the following methods and check if it helps.

    Method 1:

Put the computer in a clean boot state, and check if that helps.

How to solve the problem by running the clean boot in Windows Vista:
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135 Note: once you have completed troubleshooting, perform the steps in the step 7: to reset the computer as usual.

    Method 2:

Change keyboard settings and check if it helps.

    Method 3:

Try to update the keyboard driver and check if it helps.

Updated a hardware driver that is not working properly:

  • Want want 360: 360 - repeat the letters on the keyboard

I saw this question desccribed (rightly) in many other places - my keyboard randomly inserts a copy of the letter as I type. But I do not see a ffix everywhere (just did again). I tried to change the keyboard settings, downloading updates, etc, etc. It's actually the THIRD computer HP Envy in a row to have this problem. He is going back to Best Buy if I can't find a solution.

    Model 15-u010dx

    Windows 8.1

In fact, that won't do, but thanks for trying.

    The solution is actually this:

I tried all the other suggested fixes: changes/updates to BIOS; keyboard settings, uninstall the drivers, etc. The link above, which will take you through the evolution of the "rate of key Bounce" in the registry was finally the fix.

  • Keyboard - keys repeat

My old (and brand new keyboard will only repeat a key (any key) every 2-3 seconds.)  I bought a new keyboard and it does the same thing. I then tried changging options delay key repeat, but it also made no difference.

I'vve also tried ussingg the parameters "key bouncee" under acccessibilitty.  There is no heelp either, like the time the fastest that you can set 0.5 seconds, sso, I ended up having to presses keey missed to aaltoggether, unless I slowed down my typing speeed ddown.

  • HP ENVY 13 2 detachable x: HP ENVY x 2 keys repeat random

I just bought the detachable Envy 2 x 13 a few weeks earlier. I had problems with the keyboard on the first day.

Keys randomly repeat themselves makes typing anything including passwords, a nightmare. I fixed that last sentence about 6 times for duplicate characters.

The following sentence is seized with Burr:

This keyboard letters Inn dupplicate liikes mode completely randoom and I never knnow when it will happpen is just that.

I saw a thread where the BIOS Rev F.08 solved these problems. I have F.06 Rev. I try to install this BIOS, I get a message that there was an error reading BIOS, and it closes.

This is getting VERY frustrating. I tried to adjust the repeat rate in the Panel WITHOUT effect.
