Keyboard types wrong characters and bizarre on Tecra A2

I got with my Tecra A2 keyboard;

When I hit the 'e' key I get this: 22:06 07/27/2007;

When I hit the key 'a' I get 1za 1za 1za.

When I type 'z' I get 1za 1ZA 1za and so on.

some keys are fine and I got the right letter. I already checked the regional settings and all is well; I updated my BIOS and I didn't work; I used the CD recovery and I didn't work.
I went to Device Manager and uninstalled keyboard driver and nothing; I reformatted my HARD drive and nothing; I noticed that when I went into the BIOS and there tried to activate 'FN' and I could not turn on or off; It's off by default;
I tried FN + F11 or F10 and I did not work. What could be?

Any help? Someone had the same problem?

Hello

sounds like a serious problem of material. You can try the following command to check if just the internal keyboard making trouble or your machine is defective: it just connect an external keyboard (ps2 or usb) and check if you got the same error.

But these days you have to bring your machine to a service partner chartered local for a checkup of material because I think that your keyboard is faulty and that the hardware components of your machine must be checked.

Point of here´s a link to find the nearest repairer:

Hi, stupid problem, but I can't fix this, my @ key is the "key and vice versa so when I press SHIFT-@, I get" aaaagggh

This means you accidentally chose the wrong language on your keyboard.  The United Kingdom and the United States have different keyboards.  If you choose UK instead of U.S., you will see that these two keys are swapped.

To resolve this problem, I come to your regional language settings in the control panel and the switch instead really live you (UK or US).

  • Keyboard displays wrong characters

Just bought a Pavilion 15-e045sa.  It was fine at first, but now when I type in the keyboard I get 3rd. It looks like with all the characters of the top line:

    • e 3F
    • r 4r

I have already restored the computer laptop back to factory settings, updated the BIOS and checked the usual regional settings etc.  What else is there to do?

    Hello OldBooty,

Welcome to the HP Forums and I hope you enjoy your stay!

I understand that the keyboard will be seized of the wrong characters when you press some keys. I'll do what I can to enlighten you on this issue.

My information is based on what you gave me, more precisely, that:

    • e 3F
    • r 4r
    • t t5fv

Regarding the first two keys, the extra button that appears is the key top. The third key does the same thing, but includes also two keys below. I was able to look at the keyboard of this computer to examine the issue. Unfortunately, it is a hardware problem and the computer must be repaired. As it should be in the warranty, please contact HP phone support to do this. You can use this Web site for information about how to contact HP properly, based on your region: Contact HP worldwide

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns. Thanks for posting on the HP Forums. Have a great day!

    Hello

    ·        Since when are you facing this problem?

You can try to connect an external keyboard and check if the same thing happens on this as well. You may need to change the configuration of the keyboard and check if that helps, follow the link given below to do the same.

    Change your keyboard type

  • keyboard types wrong letters in mozilla tried to reinstall, new keyboard works normally in opera, chrome, safari, does not

types of keyboard wrong letters I can press the e key and each time a different letter appear in Mozilla, types of keyboards, normally in Google Chrome, Safari, Opera and IE I have no language bar (the only keyboard language), no combination of keys does work, Ctrl + Shift, etc., Windows 8

    started only recently

    have reinstalled, uninstalled, rebooted, etc..

The combination of default keys to rotate the disposal is the Ctrl + Shift or Alt + Shift key combination that is used in Firefox to the menu items, so it is quite possible to accidentally changing the layout.

To avoid an unintended switch, assign a specific keystroke (Alt / Ctrl + Shift + number) to select keyboard layouts and remove the key combination to rotate (Alt + Shift or Ctrl + Shift) layouts

  • Problem of annoying keyboard typing wrong characters

Sometimes when typing my email address instead of the ' @' sign contained a double ' sign appears and it is impossible to get my keyboard to give me the correct sign. I tried to turn the caps on and then turn off; using the SHIFT key. and many other hit but have to close on the web, in total, which is frustrating to say the least. Does anyone else have this problem? Is there a solution? Thanks for your help

This is the region for the keyboard setting and has nothing to do with the shift keys.

The "key and the @ key are in different positions in different international keyboards."  Similarly, the result of the use of shift with the 3 button gives different results in different regions.

The solution is simple and is also easy.  Just follow the steps precisely.

Control Panel, tab language, region, keyboard & languages, change keyboards, services installed, select the keyboard so that the word "keyboard" is highlighted, click on Add..., find the country the keyboard was bought for, expand the list, so you can see check boxes of the options available, tick one of these boxes.  Press OK. Now select the unwanted country setting that was in the list before hand and remove [you could not do this before or you would have nothing to say the keyboard how to behave while you were doing the rest of the procedure].  Press OK twice.

    Comprehensive work.

Change the language, it's not what you need to do. Go to the control panel
    | Region and language. Click the keyboards and languages tab and then
Change keyboards. Choose the correct keyboard (American or British).

  • Special characters and accents on the smart keyboard?

How to type special characters and accents on the smart Pro iPad keyboard? For example, I like to write "Róisín Murphy" with accents in the name as shown here. But I can't find a way to do it. Are there not as a software keyboard that I can draw on screen for those?

    Thank you.

If you have your English keyboard, then you can use the standard Mac shortcuts.  For acute, you more e option, then the basic letter.  e is more e, then e option.

If you have your keyboard to something else, like Italian, then it might be different.  That your keyboard is set to?

  • Specification of the Type density (characters per inch) and line (lines per inch).

Density of type, including characters and spaces, must be not more than 15 characters per inch. Type can be no more than six lines per inch. How do I would put these limits in InDesign?

but I guess I somehow need to address hyphenation and justification settings so that the maximum does not exceed 120 CPL.

There is no setting that allows you to set the number of character lines. You could get the CPL average via a script, making it easier to set the width of text frame in order to get an average of the target.

This AppleScript (OS x only) displays the average for the selected text:

Tell application "Adobe InDesign CC 2014"

    Try

ls from each line of the selection of the value

cc of each character in the selection of the value

define a CC / ls as integer

display the dialog box ("middle characters per line of the selected text is:" & a) buttons "OK".

    in case of error

box dialog display ("Please select some text") buttons "OK".

    try to end

    tell the end

installed a keyboard and wireless mouse and the mouse works fine, but the keyboard types the wrong keys! Any ideas? Thank you

Wired or wireless - is usually not serious unless the wireless can get more interference.  If the keyboard is close to the receiver which is connected to the computer and you get the strikes hurt - my suggestion is to try first the keyboard on another computer.

To do this, * not * require you to install specific drivers.  Simply unplug the combo of a computer and in the other and see if the keyboard works correctly.  Then, you can troubleshoot from there.

  • When I type some characters often do not appear but if I wait for awhile and tap them again once they appear.

This happens in all programs that I can type, (e-mail, WP). Sometimes I can type the characters if I come back, space or both using the arrow key and then forward and try again.

    Laura V:

Thanks for your help. It was a very frustrating experience, not being is not in a position to have all the I type characters appear. I did a full scan and who was clean. I was not able to boot mode safe then I deleted all the programs that I installed for several months, but the problem of many characters not appearing not when I typed persistent. I was about to bite the bullet and to restore an image of my C drive from a hard drive external when I decided, just for completeness, to test the keyboard. I unplugged my wireless Logitech keyboard and plugged an old keyboard. Eureka! Typing all appeared OK. What a relief. I think that the rf in my wireless keyboard transmitter was at fault and that it was not send all the characters I typed. I should have checked the keyboard first, but it was only 3.5 years old and I couldn't believe that it went wrong so little time. All's well that ends well. Thanks again.

  • Keyboard keys stick, type other characters

wwhile type, send SMS, keyboard, the bad characters types or sticks starting to type by itself.

It is with the on screen keyboard? If so you may have a defective scanner and should be at an Apple store for testing. The test should be free. All repairs depends on your warranty status or AppleCare +.

  • How can I type the characters printed in green on the keyboard of Acer aspire switch 10?

My (Northern) keyboard on my Acer Aspire switch 10 has some characters printed in green. This includes the backslash character I need desperately. However, I can't find any information in the manual or elsewhere about access (type) these characters. Help, please!

I tried now. With the help of the button Fn-type only the characters printed in blue. The backslash is printed in green, as is the Danish æ and 0-slash (o). Explaining the problem to my wife, she wanted to give it a go. And to my surprise it resolved in less than a minute. I had missed that the backslash WAS ALSO printed in white on the same key as + and? so, to be able to type it, all I have to do is pressed the Alt - Gr key pressing this key. Stupid of me to do not see it the first time around.

Getting back to the question initial on the characters printed in green, I came to the conclusion that it is "conversion" of the keyboard in a Danish provision of individual countries by specifying this keyboard layout in Windows settings. Similarly, there are a few characters printed in red. I assume these are Norwegians.

This type of complexity, that's what you get when manufacturers want to reduce country-variants for as little as possible, I guess.

    So all is well here

For reference, I enclose a picture of my keyboard

  • my keyboard strokes are not made, unless you type very slowly and hold down the key until the particular letter is displayed

my keyboard strokes are not made, unless you type very slowly and hold down the key until the particular letter is displayed

    Hi Kdooley,

Are a. When you facing this problem?

    B. using a laptop or a desktop computer?

    C. is - what happens with specific applications?

    D. don't you plug a different keyboard to check?

    Method 1

I suggest you to connect this keyboard on another computer and see if it even. If the problem persists, try Method 2

    Method 2

Try to change the rate of repeat on the keyboard and check if it helps.

    1. Open keyboard by clicking the Start button, clicking on Control Panel, hardware and sound, tap keyboard.
    2. Under character repeat, move the repeat rate slider to the left to keyboard characters repeat more slowly, or to the right to make them repeat faster.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/change-keyboard-settings

If the problem persists, then it might be a problem with the keyboard itself.
