Keyboard USB not detected

My old PS2 Keyboard was fine, but whatever I do my computer does not detect my new Microsoft USB keyboard at startup. I get the error message "keyboard error or no keyboard present".

I currently have two keyboards on the go, one to start the computer and the other to type with. It's stupid.

Any help would be welcome, even if I don't know I missed the obvious solution.

Alan

-If I understand correctly - your problem is that, until Windows starts, your USB keyboard is not detected?  After that it starts - it is, and it allows you to type?

If the answer is Yes - your problem may be a simple BIOS setting (nothing to do with Windows) or a lack of support for USB devices at startup.  Can't tell without knowing more about the computer (brand/model of the system as a whole or the motherboard - depends on whether it is a third level machine (Dell, IBM, HP, etc.) or a system of fragmentary, put in place by you or a friend/etc.)

    Hello:

You can have a TI USB controller.  See if this driver USB3 works...

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=CP-104401-1&cc=us&DLC=en&LC=en&OS=4063&product=5192630&sw_lang=

If this driver does not work either, please complete the following steps so I can know what model USB3 controller motherboard in your PC is using.

Go to Device Manager, find the other devices category, then click on the USB controller needing drivers.

Then click on the Details tab in the upper part of the window USB controller.

Now, you see a drop-down list of property and it is set by default to the Description of the unit.

Drop down on it and select the second item in the list (Hardware ID).

After the first string of characters you see in the window.

  • keyboard USB not recognized.

    Yosemite on iMac 27 in.

Following a system freeze (screensaver is the alleged perpetrator), the usb keyboard is not recognized.  The mouse works in all ports and when it is plugged into the keyboard. IPhone recharges also through the keyboard. Recovered last time after several reboots and keyboard buffering in after start-up.  This time, no luck. Next steps?

    Hello

I had EXACTLY the same problem.

New iMac and USB keyboard. He works first and the iMac would stop then find the keyboard.

I tried to reboot several times, but that did not always help. My Bluetooth mouse doesn't work. I get to the login screen and I can't type my password (because my keyboard is not be found). I get a message on my screen that the bluetooth keyboard is "impossible", when I don't have a bluetooth keyboard and my USB keyboard is plugged. I tried all USB ports, no luck! I just found a strange way around the issue. I used a keyboard extension cable to plug into the same USB keyboard and it works now. No logical sense... I hope that this might work for you too. Good luck!...

  • Intermittent problem "USB not detected" Genius Traveler Laser 315 mouse.

Original title: the USB mouse not detected

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My problem is this: I have a Genius Traveler Laser 315 mouse which I brought last summer and it worked perfectly on my laptop. Recently I bought a new laptop, on which the mouse no longer works.
The problem is very awqward, because the behavior of the mouse on the new laptop is completely random: repeatedly he actually worked perfectly when it is plugged-, but most of the time (e.g. After restart of the operating system or unplug the mouse and in him plugging back) it didn't. This behavior is even more strange, because on my old laptop and several others, the mouse still works perfectly.
My opinion is that the problem is with USB drivers or a mouse, but when I tryied another mouse and disk external DRIVE on the new computer laptop, they both worked very well. I even copied oriented drivers on my old laptop to the new usb, hoping that I could solve the problem in this way, but the result was the same (on two laptops, the OS is Windows 7).
Another possibility is that one of the sons of the mouse cable was broken, but I passed that, too, because I've tried twisting the rope as much as I could while he worked on the new laptop and it has always worked well.
The USB on the new laptop computer Sockets all work (I tried all).

I know that the simple solution is to buy another mouse, but rather what's wrong with it (or my new laptop) to spend the money to replace a mouse I know it's functional, because I feel that this money would be lost, I have no guarantee that the new mouse work (if I wanted to buy a new (, I'd still go for a genius) and, for that matter, I would be really happy if I could solve this annoying problem.

If you have an idea where is or where could be the problem, or how could determine to hit or where I could get more help, I would be grateful for any comments.

More details that might be useful:

-on all laptops I tried the mouse of the operating system is Windows 7 Ultimate (and my old BONES and my new laptop was installed on the same CD)
-the old laptop (on which the mouse works) is an Acer Aspire 5630
-the new laptop is a Dell Inspiron N5010

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

OK, sorry, this is the mail that I sent to the support of the engineering team. But it provides a good background.

I tried all the 'classic' fastening means (I'm not really sure, but I think that I also reinstalled windows AFTER seeing the problem)

    Any ideas? Thank you!

EDIT: I mean REALLY not detected, not even as an unrecognized device by the "undetected".

I have tried them all. The only strange thing that happened was when I opened the mouse: strangely, he started working beautiful (I disconnected and reconnected it several times and it has continued to work). Of course, the miracle did not last, but at least now I'm sure that there is a problem with the sons of the mouse - I think that one of them might be slightly broken somewhere inside the mouse, or immediately after the release of the cord there. Now, the question is why is my new laptop the only one who refuses to detect the mouse.

The new most plausible problem is far beyond the scope of this forum, I'm going to look elsewhere, but I thank you again for your time and patience!

  • Satellite L500-247 - mouse USB not detected

    Hello

I have a Satellite L500-247, Windows 7. Long ago, I tried to use a USB mouse and it worked (plug-and-play) without problem. Yesterday, I tried to do the same thing and I tried 3 USB mouse, but no one works with me. I don't even get the window that says new hardware found. I plug in the USB mouse and nothing happens. I tried to put them into the other USB port, but also the same problem.

I can plug in the USB and the laptop can detect it smoothly but with the USB mouse, the story is different. I don't know why :(

I think that there is a problem in the USB voltage or sth like that!

    Can someone help me!

    Hi laith12,

Probably there s something wrong with USB drivers or something, but I doubt s it s a hardware problem USB ports because USB key will be detected

Did you install additional software or the USB mouse driver? In some cases they could make problems with USB devices so I n t install the mouse software and a USB keyboard.

What you can do is to remove the USB ports on the Device Manager and restart your computer. Try also updating the driver from the official website of Toshiba chipset.

    Hi bleduri,

I can't wait to hear that you have questions.  What is the exact model of the (M1132 MFP Laserjet, Deskjet) printer?  Given that the PC does not respond when you insert the USB it is possible that the PC port or printer is defective, but it is also possible the problem is with conflicts of USB or software related issues.  Please follow the steps in the following link to isolate if hardware is defective, other or software device conflicts are listed as being the issue. • USB not detected at all

    Hello world

New to the use of VMWARE, but I'm doing a project. Since I use a 64-bit operating system and I need a 32-bit I use virtual machine to run windows XP.

I have read many topics and continuously see people saying ' go to vm > settings ", and I'm completely confused to where it is. I have looked through my computer for him and do not understand what people point also.

My camera is the MSP430 and it is detected on my windows 7 64 bit, but it fails to connect to my xp. Previously, he has worked perfectly well, but suddenly, he refuses to work. On my tab devices, one who is stuck, I have that sounds and cd disk to network. Previously, he showed my key USB and my MSP430.

If anyone can give me direct instructions to solve this problem, it would be great.

    Thanks in advance!

Edit the vmx file and set the values to 'true '.

and while you're busy - also fix your browser - it does not display file extensions properly

    Hello

    Got a USB6221 running hotel.

The problem is I have to be the device power cycle or to remove and replace the USB wire to get the detected device when I start windows XP.

Research in the Device Manager, the action mentioned above the hang of "Data Acquisition hardware" and there is no other problems... until I turned off the pc and commissioning the next morning!

Incidentally, the 'Acquisition of equipment of data' are automatically detected on a PXI system with a built-in controller.

Has anyone else had this problem?  Anyone offer a solution?

    Thanks in advance.

  • Need still restarts desktop Acer Aspire - keyboard not detected at the login screen

    Hello

    I have Acer Aspire ATC-605-UR13.

In the course of the last 4 weeks, suddenly the keyboard is not detected at the login screen. The mouse works.

Still, I have to restart to make the keyboard work.

Any idea of what caused it? Perhaps any software installed that do?

P.S.: Btw, I tried a new keyboard, the same behavior. I have concluded that this is not the keyboard.

    Thank you!

This problem has been reported after that install some recently released update of windows... Currently the ability to perform a restore of the system to an earlier date. You can also try to uninsatlling updates of windows manually from Control Panel > windows update.

  • Since the L7680 installation my usb ports are not detected...

It seems that something in the registry has been changed.  My Western Digital Passport (mass storage device) is not detected is not my SanDisk Micro (2G).  Western Digital will work in the USB from the printer, but don't the SanDisk.  I've lost the use of all of my USB ports on my computer processor and montor.  They used to work before installation.  I uninstalled and reinstalled, I check startup items in MSCONFIG.

I read on the Microsoft support page which the hkey_local_machine\system\currentControlSet\Control...

should be set to activate, but I do not have this folder in XP.

Western Digital does not know what is happening, or not SanDisk.  HP really gave me the run around way to uninstall and reinstall, but I didn't get an answer that solves the problem.

It seems to me that since it was drivers from HP which caused my other unit to pass unnoticed, HP should be able to tell me how to solve this problem.  I do too much research for a new product.  I know I'm very frustrated, and since this is a new printer I still have time to take it for something that's going to work.  I had a Dell that has worked well, I wanted to just an upgrade.  I guess I could have updated by Dell.

Just about the evacuation, someone has an idea what the fix is for my USB not detected ports that have been replaced by the reader on this printer?

I added a new HP printer to my set all my ports no longer works. None of my flash drives or removable hard disks worked. I tried everything and then read "ports must be updated". My computer is older than three years and the ports of origin are 1.1 and are of most new USB 2.0 devices. Long story short, I went to microcenter and bought new ports ($11.00) and add them to my computer. All ports are now functional.
