keychain problems

Hello I have recently updated to Sierra and I don't know if it's a coincidence, but I keep getting pop ups related to the Keychain. They vary, but two of the most common are "ACCOUNTSD WANTS to USE LOGIN KEYCHAIN" AND 'SPOTIFY WANTS to USE KEYCHAIN' there have been many other ones

I also get the following what has been since before the update:

THIS MAC UNABLE to CONNECT at the rate of a PROBLEM WITH MY ADDRESS to iCLOUD. I use to use my iTunes account address

I would add that went into Keychain Access and noticed that the lock has been released. When I then lock it I get the same popup "ACCOUNTSD WANTS to USE LOGIN KEYCHAIN". Put my password and then opens again this padlock

  • Password for an Outlook of business account (which I stored in the keychain) problems...

A few months ago (when I got Microsoft Office 2011 yet, but have since upgraded to the 2015 version), I used a family member company e-mail address and password in my own Outlook 2011 so that I could see the community "Bulletin Board" that they use to work on their Windows computers (i.e. employees after things they sell for cheap).

I deleted all the data Outlook 2011, when I went from versions of Office, but I forgot to remove the e-mail/password combo in my iCloud keychain.

Like many enterprise, the IT Department. that all environments the employees change their computer passwords every now and then, if computer scientist he says member of my family that there is 'something' still trying to access his account and would need should be deleted so that she can change his password.

I found two iCloud Keychain passwords in Keychain Access, which has preserved its e-mail and password. I should ask before I came here, but I re-wrote elements of keychain to replace his info with a bunch of text "null". Then I deleted the items. My computer is always defined on synchronize Keychain in iCloud.

My question is: if my actions of change/remove these from my keychain allow him to finally change his password? Or are these items still stored in iCloud somehow for backup purposes and they can always try to contact his company servers?

    And what should I do?

If you have deleted them from keychain access and it is synced to iCloud, entries will be deleted since the iCloud keychain. She should be able to change his or her password.

  • Time machine on network not connection

So, I just had to get a new cable from drive hard installed today after an update failed due Sierra said cable.  In any case, I got the MacBook comes with a new cable and a new installation of Sierra.  I plugged the time directly to her Machine and did a migration assistant restored.  I then put back on my Mini in a network as it was before and tried to Time Machine a backup just to test and got this error

Keychain-25299 error when creating a system keychain to the user name "Jeremy Blanchard" entry and the URL "afp://Jeremy%20Blanchard@Jeremy%20Blanchard%E2%80%99s%20Mac%20mini._afpovertcp._tcp.local/Time%20Machine%20Backups".

Anyone has any ideas on what to do?  It shows up as a drive, I made sure I used (same wrong password) and open Keychain Access and check passwords in there to make sure they are correct.  Any other ideas on what to do to get my backups Time Machine working again would be greatly appreciated.

When you are doing a Migration Wizard restore but use a reformatted hard disk it can spoil the UUID of naming and more complicated things. But how that is the origin of keychain problems, I'm not sure.

My advice is to just get a new drive and start again. Make a clean backup costs and I think it should work.

  • Why is customer e-mail apple suddenly not remember passwords from email accounts other than iCloud?

I have MacBook Pro 3 to all the excellent - 1 since 2009.  Suddenly the Apple Mail Client is asked for a password for each e-mail account, except for the iCloud account.

I know that the email and password is correct, because my iPhone 6 s email client continues to download and send emails from all accounts in mail without problem.  In addition, I can go directly to the e-mail page in the browser, for example, www.hotmail.com to that email account and the MacBook Pro connection directly on this page.

I tried to close all the computers down to reboot hard and using disk utility to check the disks.  I also changed all the other 3 accounts 3 times: and won't do again - too much work and does not.

I downloaded Malwarebytes for Mac directly from Malewarebytes and updated definitions and ran the program.  The results were negative.  This shit started after RAW last download security in which a group has found a security flaw in one of the types of files to Apple.  I can't help but wonder if that had anything to do with it.

Anyone had this happen; and someone has other suggestions as to what's going on please?

    John

PS I have a time Machine that is supposed to be back up all 3 of Macbook Pro. (1 to) but I have never tried to use a backup, then it would be something new for me, if anyone thinks it's necessary.

It is quite common. Mail most likely simply lost the password and must be entered again. However, sometimes it is the Keychain Access.app.

Windows in the Menu bar select connection doctor. You will see two entries for each account - 1) reception and 2) sending SMTP.

The Red icons will tell you where the password is missing.

    • Incoming is set on the main window of account under the account information tab

    • The outgoing is set under parameter edit SMTP.

    CHANGE THE INCOMING SETTINGS

In the window account under the account information tab, enter the password.

    Click to save your password.

Check the connection doctor to see if your incoming connection now works.

    CHANGE THE SMTP SETTINGS

In the window accounts > outgoing mail SMTP server: Select this option to list edit the SMTP... of popup.

Select account from the list. (It is not uncommon to find additional SMTP servers listed. When you delete the account, E-mail does not delete smtp info. You may need to do some cleaning in the list to remove the extra cost).

    On the Advanced tab:

Apple uses by default the default ports (25 465, 587), but some servers prefer a custom port. Check to see which port they recommend. For example, Gmail like 465, 587 Outlook.com.

Check if your server requires SSL.

Username. Enter the full e-mail address for example.  [email protected]

Add password if it is empty. (If you have configured authentication two step, you will need a password specific app)

(there is no registration not required when adding password here0)

Open connection doctor to the title of the window in the menu bar.

Think you that green light now for your SMTP account?

    If you still have problems...

    Keychain problems

This to fix the repeated requests of password...

    Open Keychain Access, in Applications/Utilities

Search for your account. You might find several. Normally you have not more than two. An incoming and an outgoing.

Registration by e-mail have blue @.

    Example:

Delete all entries. The keychain is not smart and keep all the old entries when you add / modify a password.

Open Mail and enter the password of your account. Enter account account information and settings to modify SMTP Advanced tab tab

    Password should stick now.

  • Keychain, iCloud + problems of Photos on MBPro since changed password and password set firmware

    Hello

I recently changed the password for the connection on my main account on my MBPro and added a firmware password, but that doesn't seem to work properly: whenever I reboot Keychain keeps asking me to access the local keychain and all iCloud apps are disabled. I also have problems with pictures. FYI my boot HD is encrypted with FileVault.

I put details on the issues below, as well as what I tried so far (based on the collected suggestions from these forums) as well as some newspapers Console elements that seem strange.

I don't know how to proceed at this point that some options might make things worse if not done does not correctly (or in the right sequence). I'm tempted to disable Firmware password, go back to the old password, or turn off FileVault to see if the problems goes, but I'm afraid it might make things worse (and I would like to have these features runs later). I also have the opportunity to reinstall the OS and return to a previous TimeMachine upward.

I would appreciate anyone's help on this one.

    Thank you very much.

16 GB RAM 256 GB SSD + 2 TB external HD.

    Mac OS X 10.11.16 (15-1004)

FileVault is running on the boot disk (SSD).

    Firmware password has been set.

I have a Time Machine backup (on a second external hard drive).

I installed a functional copy of Mac OS X on an external hard drive 3.

I do not use iCloud keychain.

I have another admin account that works.

    Problems:

    (1) Keychain: whenever I start the CommCenter ask the session keyring password (I must then enter the previous admin password).

I wonder then if I want to update the local keyring: to do this I have to enter my new login password in the "current password" and then I type the same new password fields. Once I reboot the problem reappears: exactly the same sequence, as if the information could not stick. Might have something to do with the FileVault and Firmware password.

    (2) iCloud: after having rebooted and enter my passwords from keychain as described above, none of the iCloud applications work (email, Messages, Contacts, calendars, reminders, Notes, find my Mac, iCloud drive, etc.).

He tells me tells me he is not able to connect to iCloud and asked me to try to do it in the preferences panel. When I tried to connect there, he couldn't connect to iCloud and told to try again later.

    (3) photos: at the launch of Photos he says he cannot open the library system and propose to choose a. When I choose the right pair, it opens fine, but a ton of photos are most referenced correctly. All images come my an external HD (the iPhoto library is also on the same HD), and nothing has changed in the structure of folders.

What I tried (after the Time Machine).

    1. I installed Mac OS was last updated.

2 - I activated the guest account and tried to connect: it only works Safari.

    3. I logged in using another admin account: no problem with Keychain and all iCloud apps work. Not tried Photo since this account is not a library and is not configured for access to the main account.

    4. I tried to boot into safe mode: is not work (might have something to do with the password FileVault and Firmware).

5-return to the main account I ran disk help and fixed permissions: discs seem to be ok.

    6. in the key string App I locked and unlocked keychain using the lock in the upper left corner of the application. When asked for my password I just typed my user password. When I rebooted I had the same problems.

    7. I've tried updated the password in the keychain app by entering the old password and then my new password for connection in the other two fields (new password and confirm). Still problems with iCloud and after restart I have the same problems of Keychain.

8 - I tried resetting my default keychain: I got an error, because I don't have the permission to do so.

9 - I tried to create a new keychain session and making it the default keychain, but I keep getting the same problems (iCloud does work does not + issues of password even after I reload).

10 - iCloud: I tried to close the session from iCloud, then enter my iCloud ID and password, but it says no more: it cannot connect or that the Mac is already connected to this account. I closed the session again, iCloud used Safari to manage my AppleID (https://appleid.apple.com/), listed devices associated with and my MacBook off the list: I always have the same questions even after reboot. I even tried to delete the iCloud account since the Internet Accounts preferences panel, but it is not listed. I tried to add it, but he said that the Mac is already connected.

    11. in Terminal, I glued the special order in some discussions (find ~ $TMPDIR..------(-+ flags sappnd, uappnd, schg, uchg o! - user $UID o! - perm - 600-) 2 > & -| wc-l | pbcopy) and got 21 to 22, and a result the first time earlier.

12 - looking at logs just console after reboot, I see a couple of things that seem odd that appear multiple times with slight variations (I paste only an example):

Yes. "BitDefender" is worse than useless and you should get rid of it.

Please remove "BitDefender Antivirus" by following the instructions on this page. I can't guarantee the effectiveness of these instructions. If they do not work, see the developer for more information.

Back up all data before making any changes. Never install a software "anti-virus" or "anti-malware" again.

  • Keychain password problem

    Hi all

Recently my begins keychain to ask me to enter a password when I want to see some passwords (password of the show). I always used my password to check passwords in my keychain. But after El Capitan, he has not worked for me. I changed my password in Keychain Access. I deleted the old keychain and created a new, but it keeps blocking of access.

That's happened? Can I reset password in Keychain Access?

Manage the OS X always ask to use your passwords in keychain

    Tutorial: The problems of Keychain

If you can not access your keychain , or you forget your password If you can't in your keychain file because you have forgotten your password or the keychain file seems to be corrupted, there are two options.

First of all, if you have forgotten your password, you can use the utility "S.o.s. keychain" to make the Keychain password the same as the password for the connection. This can be accomplished by the following process:

    1. open Keychain Access (located in Applications/Utilities)

    2. go to the "Keychain Access" menu and select "Preferences".

    3. click on the tab "first aid".

    4. make sure that the "Synchronize login Keychain password" is checked

    5. close the preferences window

    6. go to the "Keychain Access" menu and select «S.o.s. keychain»

    7. Enter your user name and password

    8. click on the button "fix."

The second option is to completely remove your keychain then re-create. This routine is useful if your keychain is corrupted or otherwise unavailable. This can be achieved as follows:

    1. launch Keychain Access (located in Applications/Utilities)

    2. click on "Show keychains" in the lower left corner of the window.

    3. Select the problematic Keychain in the left pane.

"4. go to the 'File' menu and select 'Delete the keychain"(Keychain name)' "

    5. check all control options, and then press 'OK '.

    6. create a new keychain by going to the 'File', then 'new' menu and selecting

    "New keychain.

    7. you can now do this keychain by default if you wish by selecting it, and then

going in the 'File' menu and selecting 'Make "(Keychain name)' by default'

Log in as root and the repair In some cases, problems with keychains can be solved only when you are connected as a superuser.

First of all, you want to enable the root user:

1 OS X Lion mountain: enable and disable the root user

2 OS X Lion: enable and disable the root user

3 mac OS X 10.6: allowing the root user

4 activation and using the user 'root' in Mac OS X

After activation of the root user and the connection under this account, open Keychain Access again. First attempt to repair using S.o.s. keychain and failing that, drop and re-create the Keyring as described above, by being logged in as root.

Constantly asked for the stored passwords If you are constantly prompted for passwords in various applications that you specified do not forget in a keychain, keychain "login" may not be enabled for one reason or another.

Navigate to ~/Library/Keychains/ (it's the library within your folder folder staff user). Find the file named "login.keychain" and double-click it.

Otherwise, select the "login" keychain in the Keychain Access application and make sure that it is the default Keyring by going to the "File" menu and then selecting 'Make 'Login' by default'

Disable the synchronization of trousseau in applications having problems If specific applications are problems when you access material protected by password, the keychain may be to blame.

The above comes from an article published on MacFixit.com.
