L440 kills the wifi network

Hello

A few days ago, I bought Lenovo L440.

I have problem with Wi - Fi. WiFi works perfectly with other devices: phones, tablets, laptops. When I connect to wifi with L440, wifi works from 5 to 30 min. and then crash. L440 kills the wifi network. All devices cannot connect to wifi up until I have to reboot the router.

I've read about this problem, but I can't find in the Manager of tasks "discovery.exe" or LenovoEMC Storage connector Contral Panel.

p.s. Win8

Post what you did to solve the problem. There are a lot of users having problems with wifi to l440.

    Hello

I bought an Officejet 6600 and effortlessly connected to my wifi network, print and scan for a day. And there are two days that he stopped conntecting to the wifi network. In the meantime, our router turned off and turned back on. That's the only difference.

First of all, the printer would not even detect the wifi network. I solved that by changing the configuration of the router (Cisco 3925 EPC) and passed under the Setup wireless "Wi - Fi protected setup" to "manual". I can now see the network on the printer again.

But after that I've selected my wifi network and enter the WPA password, the printer tells me that the network connection is impossible. I printed a page of diagnosis, which told me that the problem is perhaps related to the MAC filter. But I have no MAC filters. I also tried to pass of WPA/WPA2 to WPA only, but that doesn't change anything.

I also tried to set the mode wireless via the USB cable, but no avail. Everything seems to work, until the moment when he tries to connect to the wifi (screen with 'configuration' with the large antenna and pulses of radio waves).

Should I give up and bring it to the store? I'm getting desperate!

Thanks for your help in advance,

    Raphaël

OK, to make sure I understand - the printer connects effectively to your wireless network, and well it works for a while once the printer goes to sleep, your computer or router may not wake.

If this is the case there are a few things that we can try:

    1. in the settings of your router, make sure that the multicast is enabled.

    2. set the 2.4 GHz router to 11 channels.  I know it sounds weird, but please try.

    3. set an IP address of the printer:

-Print a the front of the printer Network Setup Page. Note the IP address of the printer.
-Enter the IP address in a browser to reveal the internal settings of the printer.
-Choose the network tab, then wireless along the left side, then on the IPv4 tab.
-On this screen, you want to set a manual IP address. You must assign an IP address outside the range that the router sets automatically (called the DHCP range). If you do not know the range, change the last set of numbers (those after the last '.') 250
-Apply the subnet 255.255.255.0 (unless you know it's different, if so, use it)
-Enter the IP of your router (on the Page of the Network Config) for the gateway.
-Enter for the first DNS 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 for second DNS. It's Google DNS. You can choose a different external DNS if you wish.
    -Click 'apply '.

Now, stop the router and printer, start the router, wait, and then start printing.

  • Can't connect to WIFI on all locations where the WIFI network is available

Sometimes my computer will connect and detect the networks without wire, Hotels, airports etc. but do not work in the home and in some offices.

I run put WXP updated with SP2 have an Artheros5005gs adapter. Any ideas?

    Hello

It is a matter of compatibility between the WLan router and wireless network card.
If the wireless network adapter does not support the same Wlan standards then you will not be able to establish the WiFi connection.
Especially the hotspots (Wlan on airports, city, etc.) are not secure and that is why the laptop automatically connects to these wireless LANs.

The WiFi network at home or in the office is secure for most and you need a right encryption key to connect to these wireless LANs.

So I think you should check you settings router WLan configuration and usage of encryption right key, SSID, etc.

  • Unable to connect to the WIFI network.

Original title: Need computer help laptop to connect to the WiFi at home

I have FIOS at home, but my new laptop is impossible to connect to the WIFI in my house, the diagnostic computer wasn't able to fix the problem, what can I do?

    Hello

    1. what exactly happens when you try to connect to the WIFI network?
    2. do you receive any error messages?

    Method 1:
I suggest you try the procedure described in the article and see if it helps.

Windows wireless and wired network connection problems
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/help/wired-and-wireless-network-connection-problems-in-Windows

    Method 2:
If the problem persists, you try the procedure described in the article and check out them.
How to troubleshoot wireless network connections in Windows XP Service Pack 2
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/870702

Alternatively, you can check the link for more information:

Error message when you try to run the Network Setup Wizard update for Windows XP Service Pack 2, Service Pack 3, or Windows XP Tablet PC 2005 Edition wireless
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/871122

    Method 3:

If the problem persists, you can temporarily disable the antivirus software and check.

    (a) click Startand then click run.

    (b) copy and Paste the following text in the box run command and then press enter:

    wscui.cpl

    (c) in the Windows Security window, click Virus Protection.

    (d) if the software is activated, display information about the antivirus program and note the name of the application.

    (e) click Start, click programs principally made and then look for and run the anti-virus program.

    (f) temporarily disable the software.

Important note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

    I hope this information helps!

  • MDS is the WiFi networking

My job application on mode MDS and BIS (IE push and pull)

    Now I have WiFi network...

    is MDS (push) WiFi networking

Yes. The BlackBerry is trying to keep a tunnel to the BES/MDS via the WiFi network, the network provided allows such a tunnel (whether to the RIM network infrastructure or directly to the router BES/MDS).

  • restrict the physical size of the wifi network

    Hello

I intend to cover the building 80x80m by the amount of 1131AG APs and WLC4402 controller. But the strong demand of the customer is to physically restrain the posibilities of the long distance wifi connections (100 m and more building).

Is there a function in wifi Cisco to drop connections incoming in case if the customer is 100 + m AP? (I mean that the power of the customer is high enough for this)

What are the regular methods of resricting the physical size of the wifi networks?

    Thank you.

Someone could be more than 100 meters away using a parabolic grid antenna, and the signal strength is perhaps not different from your regular users.

You can try using the location device, but I think that even this might go a little goofy, if someone tries to spoof a MAC address.

    Hi team,

I tried all the options in your post and I am still unable to connect to WiFi with WPA2-PSK encryption.

I am currently using the adapter network driver atheros 5007 wireless.

Some of the links in your message that resolved this issue earlier are currently unavailable.

It would be great if you could help me to solve this issue.

    Concerning

Here is the patch for WPA2 for XP SP2...

Install and reboot and then see if you're OK...

    http://www.Microsoft.com/en-US/Download/details.aspx?ID=1974

That's the only reason why I can think that now prevents you from being able to connect on a network with WPA2 Personal Security.

  • Automatically by turning and the wifi network?

Is it possible to create a guest wifi network that automatically turns on market every day at certain times?

    Sorry, but no.

However, there is a way to control the hours of each day that a wireless device would be authorized to connect to the Guest network.  For example, an iPad has to connect... Every day... Between... 08:00 and 22:00.  the iPad is not able to connect to any other time.

  • HP Deskjet 2540 all-in-one: printer stopped connecting to the wifi network

Hi, my printer has suddenly stopped detecting my wireless network. When I turn on the printer, wireless blue light continues to blink and there is an exclamation point on the screen of the printer. I still have the same wifi network as before and have not changed it or its parameters. I have not physically moved the printer and the wireless works fine for all computers, iPads, and phones.

I tried to uninstall and reinstall the HP Utility Set Up software but it couldn't detect the printer to set up.  I also tried running the diagnostic results, but all the results, said 'Not work', 'Not applicable' or 'None'. I can't even an IP address for my printer.

My laptop can detect the printer if I turn on the wireless Direct button and I connect to this network on my laptop, but that's all. I'd rather connect the printer to the wifi so I can print from all my devices (phone, iPad etc.). The printer is less than 6 months and I do not understand what is the problem with him. Can you please specify?

    Hey @Sue1990,

Welcome to the Forums of HP Support! I hope you enjoy your stay here.

I understand that the all-in-one printer Deskjet 2540 does not connect to your wireless network. I can help you with that.

To connect the printer to your network again you will need to run the USB cable from the printer to your computer Mac OS x 10.7. This makes the open Applications, Hewlett-Packard and inside this folder you will find a program with a similar name to the installation wizard. If you run this program, then you will find options to connect your printer to your wireless network.

Please let me know how it works for you and let me know if you have any questions.

    Have a wonderful evening!

  • HP Photosmart 8000 A809 printer offline connects to the Wifi network

My printer would sometimes disconnect from wifi, but by turning and the new, would solve the problem.  Now, I can not connect via wifi at all.  Diagnosis plug said: I'm very good signal strength with odds of PASSAGE on everything, no other corresponding network mine.

Config with the correct network name and an IP address of 10.10.10.125.  I tried the USB connection and then converting to wireless, but establishing assistant gets as much as setting her up and recognizing the device, then I get this msg:

    NON-CONTACTED DEVICE

The network configuration has been correctly transferred to the device. However, to continue to configure the network device, your Mac must have access to the device. So please make sure that your Mac has access to the network: "JC XXXX" and try again.

Yet, the report says that I'M connected.  When I try to print something the msg happens "printer is off-line" still the blue light is on, and as I said, all diagnostics PASS.

I turned everything works, including unplugging the router several times, restart my mac etc.  I'm not missing any software updated.

I tried the suggestion of hp to put my IP address in my browser to access the Networking tab, but Google Chrome tells me that it can't find the address.

I also reset the printing system.

What else can I try to fix this?  Grateful for your suggestions!  Thank you!!!

Looks like you have problems multiple) a printer goes offline and then b) you can not access the IP address of the printer and c) you get an error saying 'Inaccessible device.'

What is the Mac version that you use to configure the printer? You're on a VPN or proxy?  Is the printer on the same network as the computer?  You have blinking lights on the printer?

Here is a very comprehensive document that covers everything you need to do to get the configuration of the printer.  I recommend restoring the printer by default and then try to connect again.  Page 76 of the User Guide talks about what to do if you are unable to access the built-in web server

  • HP laptop could not connect to the WiFi network

My HP Pavillion G6 connects to the Wifi/Home network. It worked fine until recently. It can see the network but will not connect. My product number is C9M83PA #ABG. There running Windows 8.1. Very frustrating. Help, please

Problem has been fixed. It seems that HP and Windows 8.1 did not get along! After you connect the laptop to the internet via an ethernet cable, I was able to use the HP Wizard to download the updates. I then rebooted both the laptop AND the router and everything works.

  • Get the IP addresses of the devices connected to the WiFi network

    Hello guys,.

I've been looking around and trying to understand this point, but I don't have a solution. The problem is to get the local IP addresses of all devices connected to the WiFi point of access/router connected to my BlackBerry. Similar to the way in J2SE nature you can get the IP using InetAddress.getLocalAddress () and then browse ip addresses and call InetAddress.getByAddress (ip) to check whether the device is accessible. Possible is something similar in BlackBerry or not?

No, the fault was entirely mine, I misread your message.
no idea how to do that, there is no access from low level of the network interface and the API is really limited.

  • PC does NOT automatically connect to the wifi network, other devices do

I have a pc windows 7, and we have used to have a SIEMENS router + modem via a wifi network. The pc would always auto connect to it.

We now have a new feature called HOTBOX, used by the new company of internet infrastructure that we moved - HOT.
I did change the password first because who really cares? His writings on the HOTBOX, my family and my guests can know, and thanks for the auto connect, which i obviously checked when I connected to it, everything should be good. Alas.
Other devices connect, it's my smartphone nokia, iPhone, PC. Only this computer can not.
Note: the first time where I put the password on this computer to connect, there is also an option for a fast connection or something like that. I did with my nokia phone, but not with pc - it's an easy way by pressing on a button of twinning on the refrigerator, then you can easily connect or w/e.
IN ANY CASE! This option seems to have disappeared! Now all that appears when I click on the network name is the password field and a checkbox to auto-connect, no quick option.
Any help is appreciated. Thank you.
