L530 - 10mm HDD
wondering if it is possible to install a 10mm 2.5 HDD "in L530?
I heard that L530 has a 7mm 2.5 "hard drive built in. thank you.
It is possible to install a 9.5 mm disc. There are also records of 7mm built, but only with an adapter.

Hello, I have this very annoying problem with my Macbook Pro 13 "mid-2012.
Two days ago he suddenly shows the ""folder with a question mark gray ' screen. " Reading online, I saw that many have had this problem in the past and that usually to fix just do this:
-Restart the Mac, press Cmd + R, then the utility disk, check and repair the drive.
I tried, but there was any Macintosh HD. There is rather a "disk0' with a score of"Mac OS X Base System.
I tried also this, without success:
-Remove the HARD drive and using an "all in 1 HDD Docking Station" try opening the hard drive of another Mac. It says that can not open the disk but I can erase it (did not, I still hope to recover data in the future with some software).
-I already upgrade my Macbook Pro with an SSD, thinking about my drive HARD has been compromised, I bought a Samsung SSD 750 EVO (250 GB) and I replaced the HARD drive.
-J' have formatted the SSD format "Mac OS X Extended (journaled)" and, from another Mac, created a boot USB with El Capitan installer disc.
Then, with the SSD instead of HARD drive, I did all these things:
-Start the Mac, press Option, start the USB key. But no "Macintosh SSD" has been shown when comes to decide where to install El Capitan.
At this point, I was very confused and tried the last chance:
-Start the mac without internal drive but with the SSD in the docking station. Boot from USB and try to install El Capitan on the SSD. And it worked!
But stil does not work when I put the SSD inside the Macbook. Is possible whether the Sata cable who, from one day to the other, stop working?
I tried also Reset of the MSC and the Apple Hardware Test extended, giving "No problem found".
I also tried to unplug the Sata cable connectors and clean the cable with a handkerchief, then incredibly SSD Macintosh appeared at the start of the USB, but installation failed at some point. And next time, I tried the SSD disappeared again.
This problem is driving me crazy and I hope someone can help with suggestions. Thank you
But stil does not work when I put the SSD inside the Macbook. Is possible that there the Sata cable who, from one day to the other, stop working?
A NEW SATA cable will probably will correct the problem.
I'm looking to install a SSD Samsung Eco 2 TB and a normal digital black among Westerners of 6 TB HDD, can I ask people their advice? I try to have ssd as my boot drive and the 6 TB for backup and the files.
(a) problems with the selected material
(b) it is useful, wise money for example I should save a little more and buy a new iMac
(c) are there alternatives
looking to make a TI takes forever to go start cold.
I have a mid 2011 iMac i7 (12,2) with the last what OS X installed.
Cheers in advance,
RK based in the United Kingdom
The major issue that you will have is that the 2011 iMac is not a disk controller capable of working with a 3 to or more large internal drive. Furthermore, what is the point of this large an SSD? If the Samsung Eco models are cheaper SSD, while they are cheaper because they are made with older chips may not correspond to current levels of performance. Do you really need a 2 TB SSD for a boot disk? A smaller and better quality SSD may be a better choice.
So I have an Ext HDD that has been formatted in windows. However, when I'm using a mac and drag / drop files it is not written. The funny thing is, when I use another mac, it reads and writes files very well, so I'm able to drag-and - drop without problem. I can't have this problem on a computer that tries im of files to back up. Any idea what is the problem?
Install software such as Paragon NTFS on the Mac who is unable to write to it.
I can't afford to buy the 256 GB MacBook Air, then I'm the one with only 128 GB.
When I launched my iTunes, I pressed down option and select the external HARD disk where I put all the songs.
Songs in iTunes external HDD has been copied from my iTunes on my iMac.
So, how can I synchronize my iTunes in my iMac with the iTunes on my external HARD drive?
What do you mean "iTunes sync in my Mac?" You say that you no longer use the library in your computer (iTunes' incidentally is the only application), what is there to sync (and once again 'sync' has a very specific meaning of transferring the elements to and from a mobile device)?
I ran AHT and copy the following code came 4MOT/4 / 4000000:HDD - 1240, I tried to know what it is but can't seem to get info, can anyone shed some light on this here.
More precisely than the code refers to the hard drive fan motor. 99% of the time that your hard drive has failed.
I recently installed an SSD in my Macbook Pro (late 2011) instead of the DVD player. I want to install OS X on it, by replacing the current OS X on the original hard disk, I will continue to use for storing files. How should I allocate its use in car? OS X and applications on the data files on the hard disk of 500 GB and SSD?
The first series of instructions will partition and format the newly installed SSD disk then install OS X on it. The second block will help you configure OS X on the SSD with your data on the HARD drive.
Clean Install of El Capitan on a new disc
- Restart the computer. Immediately after the chime, press Command + Option + R until a globe appears.
- The Utility Menu appears in 5 to 20 minutes. Be patient.
- Select disk utility, then click on the continue button.
- When loading disk utility, select the drive (generally, the entry Out-bumpy) in the list aside.
- Click the Partition tab in the main window of disk utility. A panel will fall.
- Set the GUID partition scheme.
- Define the type of Format Mac OS extended (journaled).
- Click on the apply button, then click the fact when it is active.
- Quit disk utility and re-enter the Utility Menu.
- Select reinstall OS X and click on the continue button.
How to use an SSD with your HARD drive
If you want to use an SSD as boot with your existing HARD disk drive, as the disk 'data', here is what you can do.
After installing the SSD, you need to partition and format the SSD using disc utility disc. Then install OS X on the SSD. Once installed OSX boot from SSD. Startup disk preferences to set up the SSD as the boot volume.
Open the preferences users and groups. Click the lock and authenticate you. Or CTRL - RIGHT click on your username account list in the sidebar and select Advanced Options in the context menu. You will see a field called "Home dir: ' on the far right, you will see an Edit button. Click on it. In the file dialog box, navigate to the location in house now located on the HARD disk (disk HARD/users/user_name /.) Select the folder, click the Open button. Restart the computer, as shown. When the computer starts, it will now use the home located on the HARD drive folder.
Another more technical method involving the Terminal and the alias is discussed in depth here: using OS X with a SSD and HDD - Matt Gemmell configuration. It's my preferred approach because I can choose which records of the House, I want to on the HARD drive and I don't want to. For example, I like to keep Documents and library files on the SSD because I frequently access their content.
Make sure that you keep the bootable system entirely on your HARD drive where you need it.
I ran AHT and has got a unique error code-
4MOT/4 / 40000003:HDD - 1229
Disk utility does not show a problem. It is a mid 2010 27 "iMac. Do I need to have the hard drive replaced?
I'm looking to upgrade to an SSD and serve my old external HDD. Technical specification will appear at the bottom.
I have two computers to do with. First is a MBP 2011 beginning 17 "with 500g / 7200 RPM HARD drive and also a MBP 2011 320 g start / 5400 RPM HARD drive. All tips will help! Thanks in advance!
OWC has a reliable "on the go" line. I use this a https://eshop.macsales.com/item/OWC/MSTG800U3K/ that can have an external power supply, has a USB 2 model that sells for less than https://eshop.macsales.com/item/OWC/MOTGS3U3/and FW 400/800 and USB 2/3. But they also sell this connection kit universal https://eshop.macsales.com/item/NewerTech/U3NVSPATA/ (all readers 2.5 through 5.25 drives, SATA and IDE, powered by the wall).
Before I get started here are my system specs:
MacBook 13 inch, mid-2010 (white)
Processor: 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
Memory: 4 GB 1067 MHz DDR3
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce 320 M 256 MB
Serial number: 451244SHF5W
Software: OS X El captain
OK here's what I've done the research and understand from my research since a page archived Apple.com, ifixit.com and crucial.com and some comments I've read as well:
According to ifixit.com, saying that most of this computer can manage is a 750 GB hard drive, yet I go to Crucial.com and when I look at the SSD (which I can't afford) says that this computer can be installed with a 1 TB SSD. Does this mean I could install a hard 1 TB? This computer can manage a second 500 GB hard drive at all? My second Question is in what regards the memory now, I go to apple.com page archived and is no longer being updated by Apple, it says most who manages this computer is 2 GB to 4 GB. I am not convinced. Is not possible to move to 8 GB to 16 GB or more on such a system? I'm just curious, I bought this from a seller on eBay who reconditions the Apple laptops and I bought this for a member of the family. If none of these improvements are possible I send this computer back and get my money back. Thanks for the help. I need a response as the end of today! AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.

It's the right information:
A model of Macbook 2010 7 identifier, 1 will support up to 16 GB of RAM (download the OWC)
You can install a SATA HDD/SSD currently available that are 2 TB of capacity.
You can install a "data cube" instead of for a second HDD, but as this Macbook DVD drive can have a 2 TB of HARD disk installed, I see little interest to do unless you have an extraordinary amount of data.
Disk utility seems different in El Capitan - how to format a Seagate HDD to my MacBookPro which now operates under El Capitan?
There is a sharing on the top button. Select the Seagate to reformat.
I have a HP 900 GB HDD and am looking for an enclosure for the USB adapter.
model # EG0900FBLSK
part # 619286-004
I'll try to find a USB enclosure for the HARD drive and the 'standard' ones sold in big box stores do not work. It seems that the pinout have a different connector than the other HARD drives.
at - it anyone Kow where a USB box can be purchased?
What you have is a SAS hard drive from a server. There is NO direct way to jump a dedicated SAS controller card, which can be more expensive that the disc is a value. A new Seagate 1000 GB (1 TB aka) is less than $50, one sliding USB 3.0 external in case $30 or the whole in a portable case point is only $ 57.
Hello. Model HDTB310EK3AA comes in a red and green packaging. Now I have two, one is packed red, the other green. The Red packed HDD has a number of HDTB310EK3AA ACS: L A, the Red packed a college HDTB310EK3AA: P B.
Now, these two drives are considered to be a single model? I see that the packed HDD red often tend to cost more to purchase than the packed green ones. I wonder why. Thank you. Rich.
P.S. I have a picture that shows the colors of the packaging: Red: standard; Green: advanced and gray: Professional. Which is also to ask me.
In any case, this is why look like than pay the higher price for the packed HARD drive in red, when you arrive (apparently) the same product packaged in green. Also, I think this model is now only being packed in green. I think that this is the case, do not know about you.
I have a hard drive dead in my Satellite Pro A40, and I would like to replace it.
Please tell me which model suits me. The size of 40 to 80 GB hard drive.
This old model was offered with 30 GB, 40 GB or 60 GB HDD. In my opinion you shouldn't have any problem, upgrade with 80 GB or even with max 100GB / 120 GB HDD.
For example check please model Toshiba MK1032GAX. It is the old model with IDE interface and must be perfect for your machine.
Incidentally: of course this old piece of equipment can scale up to 2 GB of RAM. How do you currently use? What operating system do you use?
Sorry for the question, but it really is fascinating that many people still use old machines WXP. :)
If you install a new windows format or toshiba by a cd of windows you will not be able to see the Toshiba Hdd Recovery on F8 to restore the menu.
So if you have a recovery partition, you can make a recovery system to factory default. Follow these steps...
1. format your USB key. Paste that file to a usb flash drive.
2 - reboot the system and press F12 to start from usb...
After these steps you can restore the system to factory default...
Thanks for your interesting ad.
I m very interested in how it works and will try to test it soon.
