L540: password accepted anywhere but the login screen

Hello!

I was happily using the sensor of fingerprint on my L540 for awhile, until what a few months ago, I reinstalled Windows 7 (Professional, x 64). After setting up everything, and by installing drivers Lenovo, I noticed this problem:

When I start the laptop and you type the password, it will accept it.* but if I open the dialog to change, Windows will claim that the password that I type is wrong. I tried several times, also copy - paste where she had changed the layout of the keyboard, but just, he does not accept the password that works on the logon screen.
The same thing happens when I close the laptop and it goes into sleep mode, and then I try to connect again. In this case the only thing that helps is to extinguish completely the laptop and restart.

For a while it would not also accept the password on the login screen * front * password indication was shown. Of course maybe I just typed it, but it happened very regularly for 1-2 weeks or more. At one point that specific question came not, without changing me anything.

In short, I can't set up the fingerprint sensor because I have to type the password, and I can't change it to something easier. This particular password wasn't supposed to be typed much. I trusted that the fingerprint sensor would work.

I thought that it might be caused by one of the drivers, given that the problem started happening immediately, but only a few days after that I want to install Windows. (My memory is a bit blurry, sorry).
Then I threw most of the drivers I downloaded manually (especially the keyboard driver and fingerprints) and installed a package that installs drivers automatically, but that has not changed anything.

I have no idea if this would be a problem of Lenovo or a Windows problem. Can you give me an idea where to go with this problem?

Thank you very much!

Easiest thing would be just to use the new account. But what about the why, that's happened, I don't really know why. =/

  • Why does the login screen Windows continue reappear on my monitor?

I use Windows 7 Pro.  Until a few months ago, I couldn't leave my desktop PC on overnight.  As soon as I sat down and moved the mouse or tap a key on the keyboard, my screen saver would disappear and I could go right to work.  It was great!  Several months ago, a problem started that I describe.

Now, when I walk away from my PC for a few hours and return, I see the Windows login screen.   It is not all the time, but it produces most of the time.   My first step in tackling the problem was to check the settings of the screen Setter.  The bomber of the screen ("ribbons") is supposed to go after 12 minutes of inactivity.

There is a box to the right of this setting that says 'On Resume, display the login screen'.  This box is averified.

Then I adjusted to High Performance power settings.  PC display is Never set for when to turn off the screen and also never to when putting the computer to sleep.   I then changed the advanced power settings to try to remedy the problem.  I made sure the following settings are the following:

High Performance requires no password on wake up.

Turn off the hard drive at the end of 800 minutes

    The sleep settings:

    Sleep after = never

    Allow hybrid sleep = Off

    Hibernate after = never

    Enable timers wake = Disable

Turn off the display = never

Power button: Sleep button Action = Nothing

For security reasons, I usually use my PC as a standard user.  But the login screen Windows guard reappear after I leave my PC for a while if I run as a limited user or administrator of the master.

Can you give me some additional ideas on what I can do to remove the login screen Windows reappear after I leave my PC?

  • At startup, I get to the login screen, but the screen is dead, there is no response to any finger taps.

At startup. I go as far as the login screen (showing the four accounts). But this screen is dead: there is no response to finger taps or gestures. only by pressing the power button gets a response (immediate panic stop)

There is a story backward. Yesterday, at the start, I received a popup saying "message wants to use the login keychain, enter the password". I get my password for connection which, until now, the password of the login keychain. He dislikes that pw (he's trembling). Same with "connectsd" instead of "message".  I could send startup, but it was totally insensitive. I use Safari, but the popup remained on the screen.

Now, today, I can not use my MacBook at all, as described in the first paragraph.

    Help!

It starts in Safe Mode - that is when you start and press command + R?

  • Access disabled root but 'other '.... "still appears on the login screen

I went into Preferences > users and disabled root access, but after reboot, 'other... '. "still shows up on my logon screen.   If Root access is disabled, why 'other... '. "still the poster on the logon screen?   I would get to only show my user login on the login screen only.

If it is greyed out... It is the way that is supposed to be. I don't know any way to remove it. Unless unlock you the lock click on it and click on the negative area. Why would you want to get rid of it. If it is not gray. Click on the lock, click on the user and uncheck the allow to log on to this computer. You will need to enter your password each time that unlock you. This is done in system preferences.

  • delay after typing my password with the message: "preparing your desktop" displayed on the login screen

I use Windows Vista for about 3 years now, it has been hurt on the first day.  However, it is the biggest problem I've ever known.

My PC is currently the entire installation, which means that all the software, drivers and personal settings are applied to the way I would like it. But lately, I have had opportunities indicate that loggin, there was a long delay, after typing my password with the message: "preparing your desktop" displayed on the login screen (the PC was night shotdown, not having changed anything to the system), then I am connected to a desktop where I lost all my custom settings : wallpapers, plans, location of the updated table on the page icon, were all gone as if I start Windows for the first time, and every program I tried to run from there thought while they started upward for the first time.

My office, I know, has completely disappeared.   How can I get it back?  Where at - it go?

I am a school teacher and my student missions, etc. are in the files on the desktop.

I'd appreciate any help you can give me.

  • I can't enter my password in the login screen.

I can't enter my password in the login screen. The screen freezes when I start typing and I have to restart in safe mode. Then I restart the computer and then I can type my password to connect. This problem started probably by itself after a windows update. In the case of an account without password, the computer hangs after some time. I am using windows 7 Home premium.

Since you can get in Mode safe, do a system restore when things worked. Then, if you feel really done a Windows Update, set Windows Update installs do not automatically, but you when updates are available. Then look at each update and install them one at a time, testing after each installation.

Visit the Microsoft Solution Center and antivirus security for resources and tools to keep your PC safe and healthy. If you have problems with the installation of the update itself, visit the Microsoft Update Support for resources and tools to keep your PC updated with the latest updates.

  • Password changed after you disable the login screen

Then I disabled my login screen, today and now when I start my computer, it brings me to a page that said 'incorrect password' and then returns to the login screen. Then when I enter my password it does not work. It seems that my password has been changed somehow when I disabled the login screen. In the meantime I can use my fingerprint reader to log on, but if I were to ever lose a finger in the future I wouldn't be able to access my computer. So, how can I reset my password?

Curiously the admins cannot change her password without having to type the current password, but they can change the password of any other account without knowing the password.

    Not true - see here:

    1. click on the start planet.
    2. type the three letters cmd in the search box.
    3. press on Ctrl + Shift + Enter
    4. click on "run as Administrator".
    5. type the following commands and press ENTER after each:
    NET user "Zach" 123456
The command above will set the password of the account selected to 123456.

  • I have xp pro I have activated telephone went through all the steps said active windows computing took me to the login screen, but when I try to log in, it tells me I have activated windows

I have xp pro I have activated telephone went through all the steps said active windows computing took me to the login screen, but when I try to connect, it tells me that I need to activate windows so I click on activate the itr tells me that windows is already activated, then takes me in the newspaper and did the same thing

To delete the message you are already enabled, you can force the activation on reboot. If the wpa.dbl and wpa.bak are damaged, they can cause a problem.
    Restart in 'Safe Mode '.
Rename wpa.dbl and wpa.bak files located in the the\Windows\system32 folder
Now, the message must be deleted, and you can now re-enable. TaurArian [MVP] 2005-2010 - Update Services

  • DW CS6 test server shows only the login screen of my site. Can't do under the hood live wiew. The pages I want to change/modify is visible only when I connect but I do not know how to reolve that.

I'm trying to edit a CMS site to my needs and "open" pages is not serious, that is to say those that do not require the user to connect to. I can see and I can modify them according to my needs.

The trickiest part is when I want to change/modify something inside. Then it wont let me. The only thing I see is the "Login" screen I can see the code and I can do what I need, but when I turn on 'Live wiew' is the log in page that greets me

Tests of servers is correct because I can use it in my localhost

Connection MySQL works as it should (Test OK)

I guess that's something that has to do with permissions, but I don't know what.

A CMS site, the page is usually filled with data that is stored in a database using a scripting language on the server side. Unfortunately, the Design mode only supports a static language like HTML, there is therefore no recovery information from the database.

The only way out of your situation is to temporarily remove the permission to the user to the page that you are editing so that you do not to log-in each time. The problem is that you may forget to reactivate the authorization.

What I always do is to open the site in a browser and verify the change in DW refreshing the page in the browser. In this way, you need to log-in once.

  • the user does not appear in the login screen (el capitan)

In users and groups > Connection Options, is the verified user list?

If you have FileVault active it cannot list users until you type the Admin password for decrtpt disk.
