LabVIEW crashes when opening the project

Hey guys,.

I'm running into an interesting issue where LabVIEW crashes when you open a project. This is the second time I encountered this problem on the same project. To get around it the first time, I simply deleted and remade my project, but since it happened again, I need to find a way to debug it. The symptom is that LabVIEW will crash at the opening of the project (sometimes I can see the screen "loading the vi") with no indication that the accident occurred. It does not even launch the reporter of the error, the process just dies. Anyone know how I can go about debugging it?

xkenneth86,

What version of LabVIEW? Have you had previous versions of LabVIEW on your computer? You can attach a screenshot of the accident?

    Hi guys,.

    I write a VI that loads by program a major project and then programmatically perform some tasks of generation. It is to set up my server to auto (apparently a VM) builds. I got some success with it, however, it is not stable at all.

    I find that when he failed, he was always with labview froze at loading of the project, not when VI starts loading. 90% of the time it froze at loading a few HIO I have no knowledge on the files and they are all EITHER word password protected live they can be found at:

    C:\Program Files (x 86) \National Instruments\LabVIEW 2011\resource\Framework\Providers\lveio\public\EIOResourceTree_Provider_Get [XXXXX] where [XXXXX] varies, some examples are:

    EIOResourceTree_Provider_GetRequiredBooleanProperty

    EIOResourceTree_Provider_GetRequiredFilePathProperty

    EIOResourceTree_Provider_GetRequiredI32Property

    Sometims it could freeze at loading the files in C:\Program Files (x 86) \National Instruments\LabVIEW 2011\vi.lib\eio\errors

    As soon as he finishes to load these files, it would be a good race without any problems. But now I get only managed to all attempts at 8 or 9, which is totally unbearable.

    Another note, if I run LabView.exe manually, then load the project, it will never fail. This freezing problem happens when the project has been programmatically lanuched.

    Any idea is appreciated.

    Here is a solution I found earlier but forgot to update here:

    -L' trick is to add a little delay (about 3 seconds) at the beginning of the VI of highest level. in my case, I added a delay of 5 seconds before the first basic Path.vi call. See ss below.

    I guess that the cause is the result that LabVIEW has some race conditions or mishandling of the sequence during its initialization process.

  • Photoshop CS5.1 demo Crash when opening the file

    I just downloaded last night. I went to try out it this morning, but it crashes when I try to open a file. I so can not open the software back until I get into the task manager and end photoshop processes running in the background. I'm running on Windows Vista.

    Well Yes you're crashing into your NVidia video card driver.

    Please update the driver for NVidia to (non-Microsoft) web site.

    And the process is the gel after losing because Microsoft "search for solution" has not finished, but for some unknown reason.

    Is this a problem with still.  I use CS5 and I'm opening a project, I probably created on CS1 or 2.  Whenever I try to open it, it crashes.

    Based on (mostly) reading about similar problems in the forums first, I would say it is a problem of version control for the first and still

    The 'essential' from what I have read, is that someone can open "usually" a version of a project file, and SOMETIMES a version two return folder, nothing more that does not go to project work

  • crash when opening the recovered files

    Whenever I run the application Photoshop CC, it tries to open a recovered. PSD file, then I miserably to block the software.  What can I do to prevent this [maybe corrupt] automatic opening at startup?

    Hello

    You must go to this place and drag and drop the ASR. PSD file to the desktop and then launch Photoshop:

    Location of Mac: ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Adobe Photoshop CC/recovery automatic

    To access the library user on mac: open Finder > click on Go > go to folder > and type the entire command

    Location of Windows: C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CC\AutoRecover

    To access the Appdata: open the window run (Windows key + R on the keyboard) and type %appdata%\protector.exe

    This will prevent the automatic opening of the recovery. PSD file and will launch Photoshop normally.

  • Reader crashes when opening the pdf while UAC elevation

    Hello

    I'm a developer who has a package installer for our software which, of course, requires UAC elevation to perform the installation.

    On the last screen of the installer, we try to give the user the possibility to open a .pdf of our user manual.  Any other than .pdf format works very well, but Adobe Reader will not open, and once this has happened, Adobe Reader does not work at all until the user opens a session and return to.

    Comments of the vendor of the package install (Setup factory):

    > >On Windows 8 and 8.1, Adobe Reader does not start correctly when it is called from the high count (after UAC has been shown and has been granted access). If you perform the same script from a facility that has been manifested to run "as applicant", you will see the PDF document opens correctly, which suggests that there is some kind of problem with the Adobe sandbox. If another application PDF, such as Foxit or SumatraPDF, is installed on the target computer and saved for the manipulation of PDF documents, you will see that the file opens correctly, even when the viewer of documents is launched, after the elevation of the user took.

    This seems to be a bug in Adobe Reader?  Or am I missing something?

    Scott

    Eve software postage

    I'm not saying that it was designed to work that way, or that everything is fine. But it can be good for you (and me) to review, it's a good idea to run Adobe Reader unnecessarily high. Similar considerations apply to the choice that many installers are doing "run applications now?" at the end.

    (Security scenario: lock PC.) Admin comes to install your software, between the password for UAC. Installation in competition, starts. The user now has a copy of Adobe Reader, where they can record in tight areas, perhaps compromising safety).

    (Privileges Scenaro: elevation software creates a file of preferences, as an administrator.) Later runs, not high, can not overwrite the preferences file, leaving the user to have preferences).

    (System scenario: I read that communication with the shell does not work for a higher app and shell not higher.) No further details).

  • RTE de LV cannot open the project files that include references .lvlib in dependencies

    I am writing a DLL LabVIEW to inspect the LabVIEW project files, and I noticed that if a project has a .lvlib reference in its dependencies, then the Run-Time Engine is contradictory on whether or not he can find the project file:

    • Project.Open returns error 7 (file not found)

    • Project.GetFileLVVersion is a success

    Here are some excerpts from my code of G and C engaged in this behavior:

       int openStatus = StatusSuccess;
    char * projectVersion = createStringWithLength (VersionStringLength);

    printf ("Analysis %s\n", pathchaine);
    OpenProject (pathchaine & openStatus, projectVersion, VersionStringLength);
    printf (" project written in LabVIEW %s\n", projectVersion);

    If (openStatus is StatusSuccess)
    {
    printf (" Open the project file.") \n") ;
    }
    on the other
    {
    printf("Error: could not find Project file, or file was not a Project file (Error code %i).\n», openStatus);")
    }

    However, when running in the development environment, the two methods are successful.

    Is this a bug, and if so, is it fixed in 2014 of LabVIEW?

    Here's how you can reproduce:

      2. ConEmu for a good console- https://code.google.com/p/conemu-maximus5/wiki/Downloads

    Here's another way to trigger this behavior, which shows that LabVIEW occasionally Range the element dependencies:

      1. Open "OpenProject.lvproj" in LabVIEW.

  • Add to the project a new VI and place the constant path of file "Application Directory" his block diagram.

  • Select ""leader "Save All (this project)" and use the default name for the new VI.

  • Type 'c:\xtra\temp\OpenProject.lvproj' OpenProject

  • Notice that there is a mistake once again, as is expected.

  • Remove the "Application Directory" path of file constant

  • Select ""leader "Save All (this project)"

  • Type 'c:\xtra\temp\OpenProject.lvproj' OpenProject

  • Note that the problem has disappeared, as is expected.

  • Add the "Application Directory" path of file constant in the block diagram.

  • Select ""leader "Save All (this project)"

  • Type 'c:\xtra\temp\OpenProject.lvproj' OpenProject

  • Notice there is no problem, which is surprising, because that there should be a mistake because the dependencies item was not tidy.

  • Close the new VI and pull out of the project.

  • Select ""leader "Save All (this project)"

  • Open "OpenProject.lvproj" in a text editor.

  • Note that the dependencies item was put away.

  • Add VI back to the project.

  • Select ""leader "Save All (this project)"

  • Type 'c:\xtra\temp\OpenProject.lvproj' OpenProject

  • Notice that there is a mistake once again, as is expected.

    The same behavior occurs in LabVIEW RTE: a new project with a constant of the Application in an empty vi directory will return an error 7 - file not found, but still return the correct version of LabVIEW in which the project was created.

    I did experiment with workarounds for this problem, and I found a.

    When I used to get the path of LabVIEW libdir in the ini of the executable file, execution is able to load and inspect the project file.

    LIBDIR = 'C:\Program NIUninstaller Instruments\LabVIEW 2013'

    While it is expected that a stand-alone executable can be placed on a system that does not have the LabVIEW IDE, it is still surprising to me that the execution engine cannot find standard library of LabVIEW without some explicit guidance. What other factors contribute to this behavior?

    It is possible that you have a corrupted project which will cause iMovie hang when it tries to load it.

    Hi all

    I'm working on a LV application where a project must be created programmatically & its dependencies must be analyzed. But when I add a source folder containing many files (> 1000) LV crashes when obtaining the mention of dependencies (in the method highlighted in the image below). The solution was what you thought: redirect the path. But where? I searched the registry and there you have it:

    Cache 8.0\Media Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Adobe\Common

    There is a key named FolderPath. Set it on a drive local and first should do it again.

  • Error message when you try to open the project in Captivate 9

    Hello

    I have a huge problem with one of my projects. It was working fine and that it was completing something happened. One of my coworkers opened to check the faults of grammar of last minute, and when she tried to save him and it took him a long time she decided to close it. which resulted in the error "not responding" and the screen is empty. After this incident, non of us can open the project. When I try to load it goes to 10%, and gives me this message.captivate error message.PNG

    Needless to say that this is the only copy and I really don't want to repeat the same project from scratch. Could you guys please help? Any suggestion is appreciated!

    Can you check if it's "locked" files on a system?

    You do not check the backup option in the preferences? It's always the first thing to do when you install or patch Captivate.

    The cache folder may be a secondary cache if you can identify it, you compress the folder corresponding to the date that you have finally opened the project.  Do not clear the cache at the moment.
