Lack of saved passwords
After the update to Firefox 38.0.5 all my saved passwords are missing.
Options > Security > passwords saved - results are empty
I tried:
Restart with disabled modules - no change
Subject: config > signon.importedFromSqlite > reset, delete logins.json and restart - no change
I can add a new ID and password and the file logins.json contains all the 'old' plus a new, but only the new is visible in Firefox.
Is there anything else I can try?
Problem solved (but not the cause).
I found a recent backup of the file signons3.txt and restored and all passwords will now appear.
Thank you

Saved password may be in alphabetical order
Hello
I am a member of the Tagged site and play pets and have about 75 profiles. Is there anyway that Firefox can alphabetize the?
When watching one of your saved passwords put the domain name in the search field at top to see passwords only for this area. Then click on the username field header, so it is highlighted, to make an alphanumeric sort of name user. works even with the password field. By clicking on the header field again highlighted and it will alternate between sorting and 'high' kind 'down'.
Unfortunately, this is only a kind of temporary. It will disappear when the cover is closed. You could look for an add-on with a feature like this, but I have never seen one. The window of passwords saved by default to display in the field with an esoteric sort of alphanumeric order separated by a colon and the slashes; sort order is numerical followed by alpha and you consider it difficult to see the model of how he made the "sort".

I have lost or chose to fix FF in the past (Refresh).
Today, something happens.
I did a system restore to fix my OFFICE only,I also had an update to FF (41.0.2). After that I've restored everything, some of my FF tools should be installed. That shouldn't have anything to do with Microsoft Outlook. So, what I have reconstitute was saved Password Manager, which isn't Firefox.
Even when I reinstalled this addon, my passwords are back, but not this time. What I have to do a refresh - or can I just install passwords, even if they are not registered in the FF Manager?
I try this, because I'm exhausted, cannot see directly and can't follow directions, because I'm too tired.
And especially because nothing else does NOT work. Why would a kickoff update ah addon? It is still compatible.Thank you.
Where the password information is lost, you
must save all the information in a separate addition text file
on your hard drive, or written down. You can easily copy and paste, if
you need to do. If you are concerned about someone else looking
in this file, you can compress using a password. These can not get your data back, but will help in the future.

New version lost all my saved passwords and not save everything - I tried help
Earlier versions of registered FF going on very well, but for the two latest updates that the function has stopped working. I tried the steps in the FAQ "passwords not saved", even changed my story custom to always save settings. I don't care. Don't make passwords or even asking me. All passwords that had been in my profile for the last two years are no longer visible in the window of the options "show saved". Should I uninstall Firefox and start over?

The extension 'Remember password' has been reported to cause problems with passwords disappears, so if you have this extension and then remove (uninstall) it.
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem.
- Put yourself in the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance
- Do NOT click on the reset button on the startup window Mode safe
- https://support.Mozilla.org/KB/safe+mode
- https://support.Mozilla.org/KB/troubleshooting+extensions+and+themes
Make sure that you are not Firefox running in permanent private browsing mode (don't remember history).
- Tools > Options > privacy > Firefox will be: "use the custom settings for history".
- : Uncheck the [] "always use the private browsing mode.
It is possible that there is a problem with signons3.txt (encryption key) and logins.json (encrypted names and passwords) in Firefox.
You can open the logins.json file in Notepad (Firefox/tools > Web Developer) to check its content.
Click on the button to "Pretty Print" to fit the file for readability.
If there are names and passwords encrypted in logins.json there is probably a problem with the signons3.txt file that stores the encryption key.
You can rename the file signons3.txt (key3.db.old) and the logins.json (logins.json.old) file or move these files to another folder to make it possible to cancel the action.Rename or delete a file of possible signons.sqlite (signons.sqlite.old) used by older versions of Firefox as well.
You must define a new master password after renaming or removing the signons3.txt and all the currently saved passwords are lost. You can use this button to go to the current Firefox profile folder:

Hello
After the last update that I can develop is more saved passwords window shrinking the web address to make it unreadable when the "Show passwords" option is selected? What passwords are shown the window compresses web addresses that leaves the www / / http and I can only be able to view a letter or a description of the site. Given the number of passwords you need and different requirements (i.e. 6.8, or 10 characters, high low case number of cases etc.), I quite often find that I want to display the entire page.
Is there a way I can expand this window please? I know I could use a master password, but I always like to follow the real things...
THX JasLower right corner is a "triangle of 6 points" which allows this window to drag more big. Once more this setting is after the closure of the tab "content" and even after that Firefox is closed and reopened.

I was looking on a saved password when suddenly my computer crashed and restarted. After reboot I couldn't see the saved passwords.
As a test, I saved a password and this password is displayed in the list of saved passwords, but all the others are still missing.
How can I retrieve my saved passwords?Thank you!
If the file has no valid data then you may not use this file.
You can try if there is an earlier copy of the logins.json file.

Why not list of saved password obfuscated or even behind an admin password prompt?
I think that it is unacceptable that in 2015 I could still harvest the average user usernames and passwords by simply asking to use their browser for a few minutes. Edit > Preferences > saved passwords... must be behind a password, rather than being accessible by default. When you click on this, you are given a list of names of users, passwords, websites that accounts are and the dates of last used or changed. When you click Show passwords, the passwords are revealed, as described. This seems to be a problem incredibly more usable. Of course, a user has the option to not save passwords for future use, but the average user, cares or understands the issue in detail. Hell, I didn't even know existed this feature, and I've used Firefox for 2.x.x. It is my understanding that Chrome has this under a lock password, and in my view, it is imperative that Firefox made this change.
I've attached a screenshot of this menu, with my deleted data.

Saved passwords do not work after the automatic update
Firefox Auto-setting to update itself on a windows 8.1 machine 35.0. But none of the saved passwords work, I see all the passwords in options-> Security-> saved passwords, but when I go on a website he fills the username, but does not have the password. If I manually enter the password that it does not offer to 'save' (so of course that he knows it's a password for this site)
Very annoying.
Should I just back up and reinstall 35.0 from scratch?
I keep backups separated from all my files so I was able to restore passwords support. Apparently during the auto-update feature that something has been corrupted into logins.json or keys3.db cause no amount of re - install firefox on the existing files worked.

How to restore my saved passwords?
Just by mistake, I deleted all my saved passwords. In any case to restore. Using FireFox 34.0.5. Help, please
If you still have the signons.sqlite which was used in a previous version of Firefox, then you can try to restore the password stored in this file.
32 of Firefox and later versions store the passwords in the file logins.json in the profile folder and no longer use the file signons.sqlite that was used before (the corresponding signons3.txt file is always required).
If you have the file signons.sqlite used in previous versions of Firefox, then you can try to force Firefox to migrate passwords stored in this file (you lose passwords saved in Firefox 32 + versions).
You can force Firefox to re-import the passwords in the file signons.sqlite and regenerate the file logins.json with the following steps:- reset the signon.importedFromSqlite pref on the topic: config page by default via the context menu
- Delete the logins.json file in the closed Firefox with Firefox profile folder
When you restart Firefox, then you should have the pref signon.importedFromSqlite with the value set to true and you should have the passwords into password manager, unless he could have errors.
You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder currently in use:
- Help > troubleshooting information > profile directory: see file (Linux: open the directory;) Mac: View in the Finder)
You can open the topic: config page via the address bar.
You can accept the warning and click on "I'll be careful" to continue. -
When you go into the saved passwords, the site lists only the www. Does no good in trying to find a password.
Can drag you to the Password Manager window to make it wider or resize only the site column (location)?
You can also check the problems caused by a corrupt localstore.rdf file.

I've updated firefox and all my saved passwords have been deleated.
I've updated firefox and all my saved passwords have been deleated. I have an "old firefox data' folder and read earlier that the logins.json and signons3.txt files can be placed in my new firefox. Does anyone know how to do this?
There is a new Firefox profile folder created?
This "Old data Firefox" folder created recently because Firefox creates this file when you reset Firefox?
