Language Input Support section missing Desktop Software and blackBerry Smartphones

I'm trying to remove some languages of my Torch 9850. I recently spent the unit from a torch defective 9850 in a replacement as new from Verizon. Entering BDS V 7.1.0.41, loading Applications gets me only for the applications that I installed from Blackberry World, but it does give me no other options as he used to do the last time I needed to change the language, which was in February, two months ago. I checked for software updates and the BDS and the 7 OS is up-to-date (OS7 v7.1.0.755 platform 5.1.0.553). I repair, BDS installed and installed with no luck. Ideas? Win8 laptop now and back in February when was the last time this option was required and run successfully.

Thank you!!

Hello

The easiest way is, on a PC (you can not do on MAC):

1) uninstall all the BB OS packages from your PC,

(2) make sure you have the BB Desktop Software already installed

(3) download and install on your computer, the BB OS exact package that is currently running on your BB:

4) remove, on your PC, all copies of the SELLER. XML... There will be at least one and maybe 2, and they will be located in the same way or to (it changes based on your version of Windows) these files:

  • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
  • C:\Users\(your Windows username) \AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML

Now, try again.

Good luck and let us know!

I bought a new laptop (windows 7 64-bit) and downloaded media sync + desktop apps from the blackberry site software, after installation I plugged my blackberry and he asked me my device password which I entered (or so I thought) and it turns out that the password is incorrect, even if it's the only one I use to unlock when my phone is password lock!

So, my phone resets and then restarted but decided to restart with a wiping bar instead of the loading... bar so I have no contacts/bbm contacts and all the stuff stored on the device has been cleared...

Y at - it anyway re proceed as he had some important information before wiping randomly...

Hi and welcome to the Forums!

You have stumbled into one of the most delicate things BBS. For security, you can assign a device lock password which, if your BB is lost or stolen, will take care of wiping the BB correctly clean once someone fails to enter the password too many times. This password is also, as you have learned, required when you attached to the PC.

The thing that happened is that the password you typed on the PC keyboard was not him you have assigned to the lock of BB. Even if you thought that you type the right keys, you weren't. The BB keyboard is so small that each key has to do a lot of different functions, and they change according to different control keys (alt, caps, etc.). Therefore, when you created the password on the BB, you thought that you type one thing when you were actually typing something completely different. When you attached to the computer, that you have entered the same thing that you thought that always typing you on the keyboard of BB... but this was not correct, as the PC keyboard and the BB keyboard are different. After that you have not 10 times, he dutifully wipe it all away from your personal data (this thing of security measure). One thing that you could have done, before reaching the 10th test was to untether, then enter the password on the BB keyboard - which would have reset the counter to zero (this is the same counter regardless of the method of entry).

So, when you then create a password, pay special attention to the real characters that are sent when you do so... you'll be surprised by what the real character is. You should get a moment to see each character in the clear before it turns into a *.

Now the sad part - there is no way to "undo" what happened. If that were possible, then this security measure wouldn't be worth much. Where you are now is to "start over". But at least now you have learned (the very hard, I admit it) one of the difficult things to own a BB.

    Good luck!

    • You have three Retry option, update or cancel, and then click Update.

    When you write your question

How can I get the load to the top of the screen to access my phone?

My phone had OS6 installed at the time it was released. Today, I decided to update to the latest version of the OS6. I downloaded the update through my device, and then click the button install. There is a prompt message warning that the installation can take 2 hours or more. After 2 hours, I started the monitoring device and noticed that there seems to be a pattern to the load up screen. 1 loading screen screen 2) black with LED light red 3) the load screen and then ends with a bright white screen 4) back to the black screen with LED Red 5) repeat this pattern.  I waited another hour to see if there was no change in the situation, but nothing. So I did a hard reset (battery pull). After waiting 5 minutes, I put the battery in and now I get this screen load pattern.

How can I pass the loading screens to access my phone again?

If I erase and reload my camera, can I recharge my BlackBerry protect the back upward?

I would greatly appreciate any help or advice on this matter as soon as POSSIBLE!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Blackberry Desktop Software and Palm Desktop v6.2

I am a happy new Blackberry so far, but have grave on something which is very annoying.  I'm trying to move the data from my Palm TX, but Blackberry Desktop does not recognize the version of the Palm Desktop software that I use.

    What makes difficult:

    • It seems that I have a not supported version of Palm Desktop (at least from the point of view of Blackberry).
    • I don't have the option to go to a previous version of Palm Desktop.  Older versions do not run on Vista.
    • I don't have Outlook.

    Any thoughts?

Well, I finally got my Palm data transferred.  First of all, I was pleasantly surprised that Yahoo was in favour of the list of tasks, which was the only thing that I thought was missing.  I did a sync of my BB with Yahoo and saw that an entry of each type of test was transferred to Yahoo and vice versa.  So my problem is then a matter of getting the data from Palm to Yahoo.

Approach 1: Use the Yahoo with Palm Desktop synchronization tool.

Result: Did not work.  Synchronization of Yahoo support Palm Desktop 6.2.

Method 2: Save the Palm data in a file to archive and use the Yahoo import tool.

Result: Did not work.  The file format for Palm Desktop 6.2 was not supported by Yahoo.

Method 3: Dig a notebook laminated out of my Studio and install an older version of Palm Desktop.

Result: I got the Palm Desktop installed, then noticed that this laptop has Outlook on this.   I sync my Palm with Outlook, then installed the Yahoo Sync tool.  Synchronize and all my Palm data were sucked in Yahoo.  Returned to my Vista machine and ran the sync of BB and all the data from Yahoo are down.

    Finally!

    Thanks for your help.

    Someone know the solution.

  • S of Smartphones Conncection blackBerry Desktop Manager and Blackberry Storm problems

Hi, Newbie question!  My storm will not connect to the Blackberry Desktop Manager (although once the reinstallation of the desktop) on my low-end pc screen to the right icon indicates the gray phone and says offline - Desktop Manager.

In the Desktop Manager I activated the USB - (the PIN code is correct) but that the setting must be activated whenever I open the Desktop Manager.

I have run the office and then place the storm in the cradle.  Windows recognizes that the device has been connected.  The storm screen becomes white and connect to the office... messages and there it remains stuck.  The only way I can get the storm to work again is to ride the battery pull (thanks for the tip, BTW).  Is there something that I should activate first on the storm?  The storm is for personal use only and is not connected with any company/server, etc.  Suggestions or a fix would be welcome.

Hi, thanks for this! I found a different solution on another forum that worked. It's OK for my Windows XP SP3 but I don't know if it will work with Vista.

    1. Download the latest BB Desktop software for your region/carrier and save to the desktop.
    2. Right click on the exe file.
    3. New box appears: right click on "Run As"... "then left click on 'run '.
    4. New dialog box is displayed.  Hold the current user radio button, but uncheck "protect my computer and data from unauthorized program activity.
    5. Install the software following all the usal prompts that may appear.

I then stopped the automatic start of programs for the Office Manager, so it does not raise upward when the pc is turned on.

Now, I first connect the BB Storm to the pc and then manually start Desktop Manager: office and the BB Storm now connect to another.  Works for me, so I hope this is helpful to someone else pulling their hair!

  • 'Security software audit' blackBerry smartphones frequently and can not stop it

I have a Torch 9800 - that I bought second-hand with a full reset. I got all my contacts and details copied by my local orange store.

I'm totally new to Blackberry, and I find it very frustrating with an action of 'Check' security software often happening on my phone. The screen goes black with the Blackberry logo, and a white line slowly updates. Everything that happens I can't action one of the buttons.

I went to the Options > Security (no services) state information > Blackberry button > check security software

It passes through loads of ticks and said passed safety tests. But this action has not prevented frequent checking.

What I am doing wrong? Or what should I do?

Well, it's completely different. If your device is second hand, so now you go ahead with the measures of the seller and the buyer steps in the public knowledge base article:

  • Reload software 513 blackBerry smartphones?

    Hiya!

So my blackberry bold 9700 is only show a white screen that says reload software 513.

Ive got up it-related positions, but the given solution is to connect to the blackberry Desktop Manager and my habit of blackberry that isn't!

Please could someone help me, im so lost on what to do now?

    Thankyouuu!

If your BlackBerry is turned off the power with a white or black screen, follow the instructions below. The only indication of life may be the flashing red indicator light in the upper corner. Nothing seems to wake and Desktop Manager does not recognize that a device is connected.

    (1) make sure that you have Blackberry Desktop Manager installed.
    http://NA.BlackBerry.com/eng/services/desktop/
    (2) on your PC, go to start > run and copy and paste the following line exactly (i.e. with quotation marks):

    'c:\program files\common research in motion\apploader\loader.exe' /nojvm

    (3) the Application Loader Wizard will appear - click on "next".
    (4) in the ' connection: ' drop-down menu, you should see "USB - PIN: UNKNOWN". Click on the button "next".
    (5) you should see a list of applications ready to be installed for your Blackberry. Press Next and finish, and that you are well on your way to get your Blackberry to life. Just unplug and let the process finish completely.

NOTE: If you do not display the list of applications mentioned in step 5 and instead to see the message "the Blackberry Desktop Software has no Blackberry Device Software for the device you have connected to the computer. Contact your wireless service provider or system administrator', then you must download the Blackberry operating system for your support and your device.
    http://www.BlackBerryFAQ.com/index.php/BlackBerry_Operating_System_Downloads
Just select the appropriate type of carrier and network, select your Blackberry model from the list and download the latest version. Install this download and follow the steps above again and you should be on the right track.

If that above does not work... You use BBSAK or JL_Cmder to wipe the device and then load the operating system on the device. Follow the instructions here:

    http://www.BlackBerryFAQ.com/index.php/How_do_I_wipe_the_BlackBerry_using_Jl_Cmder%3F

If JL_Cmder does not work, follow this instruction:

    (3) have used an earlier version the software to restore phones and from these files before address books.

Hello and welcome to the community!

This is a resource for older versions of office software:

Understand that official support (to whom this site is NOT a part of) is actually not allowed to provide access to older versions. Actually, I disagree with this restriction on them, but my disagreement with this policy does nothing to change it. So, unfortunately, they simply did as they are asked to do in the rules they must follow. Fortunately, here on this site, we are not quite so limited!

If you need a process truly "own startover", here's one:

You can also study the PC-based applications that can extract data from these backup files (there are several other free who, I am told, work very well). What you declare is quite strange, and if it was me I would be worried about suspicions of corruption... it never hurts to have multiple sources of the same backup (for example, the BBB/IPD file and the contents extracted).

    Good luck!

    Hello

From a PC, you can install any bundle of BONES to a BB via this procedure:

Note that although written for "reload", it can be used to upgrade, downgrade, or recharge - it depends on the OS package you download and install on your PC. You can even use a different OS package carriers simply insert, between steps 1 and 2, the deletion, on your PC, a file named PROVIDER. XML. remember that you remove from your PC, no matter what other packages devices OS BB as having more than one installed on the PC can cause conflicts with this procedure.

If you are on a MAC, you are limited to only your sanctioned carriers OS packages... but can still use any level they currently have to sanction. See this procedure:
