Laptop battery and screen Dim

Laptop is Vista Dell Inspiron 1420. My adapter/load came out. I always plugged in b/c my screen was so hard to see dim. When it is plugged in, the light was bright. Got new adapter/charger and in a clogged filter still dim and the battery icon does not load. It says "42%" and your current plan may reduce the battery life. What does that mean? What should I do on the issue of the brightness?

For the issue of the brightness, there should be two key that looks like a Sun. Press FN + brighten or dim your screen. For your power options, go to control panel and select Power Options and see what choices are available to you.

I hope this helps.

On my two laptops from Toshiba battery cannot be moved, but the battery is locked and cannot be moved or deleted.

By the way: when you use the notebook on the desk, this movement is irrelevant and cannot have a negative influence on the power supply for computer laptop battery s.

  • What is the only guarantee of parts not my laptop battery and other parts still on warranty or not?

What is the only guarantee of parts my battery laptop and other parts still on warranty or not.

    Can you please suggest me.

First of all, don't be surprised if a forum moderator deletes your image since it includes the service of your system and for some reason number any makes them have a cow.

Looking for your resume, it said indeed that you are currently under a single warranty parts August 2016.

An only parts guarantee means technical support Dell accepts a call from you and solve problems with you and if they determine that a spare part is needed they will ship it to you that you install (or have installed by a person at your charge).  The good news is that shipped parts usually come with a confirmation email with a link to the installation instructions.  So there is a good chance that you will be able to install the part of yourself.  In addition, they may or may not require that you return the defective part.  Carefully read the paperwork accompanies the spare part or you subsequently receive an invoice for the replacement part if you need to return the defective part, but did not.

As stated in the fine print at the bottom of the image you provided, batteries are not necessarily covered by the warranty.  Only batteries guarantees of Dell for the first year.  After that, they are not covered by the warranty of the system.  You're in your third year of warranty for this system, so unless you have purchased a new battery from Dell in the past year, then the battery is out of warranty.

Extended warranties generally do not make sense (are not a good value) except on expensive systems.  Most of the failures are the cause of some accidents (spillage, unit dropped) and bit of warranty Dell cover "accidental damage".

The most common repairs for laptops are replacements of flat screens, replacement of hard drive and keyboard replacements.  Each of these parts are well below $75 and are all pretty easy to install by a very practical person.  The more difficult would be a disk replacement because it's hours to reload the OS, updates, drivers, your software and your data... Often, people just buy a new system rather than make the effort to rebuild all the software from a hard drive failure.   Also most credit cards extend the warranty from the factory for an extra year doing a Dell warranty like two a year.

Hope you will find it is clear and useful for you.

  • Satellite A210 - battery and no new startup

    My old thread regarding:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=60865

    Unfortunately, the laptop starts again.
It must be placed on the AC adapter at least a few hours, then it is able to start.
But the next day the same game.

I think I might have to send it to Toshiba for a change of battery, what you think?
    Can I change it myself?

Can you please remove the laptop battery and retest all?
As much as I know the BIOS battery should not be responsible for such behavior, but anything is possible.

Theoretically, you can do it alone, but to change CMOS battery the whole laptop must be disassembled and it is quite complicated, especially if you n t have maintenance manuals.

  • Lenovo IdeaPad Y560 does not load, battery and charger are OK

My 3 year old Lenovo Y560 laptop i5 does not load when I turn on with the battery in it everything works normally, but when I plug in charger nothing happens. I checked the charger and it works great, its output is stable 20V. When I remove the battery and try to power the laptop with charger only, LED indicators light up for half a second and nothing happened. With closed laptop battery and charger plugged in, battery light flashes orange, about 3 seconds 10, without the battery even after several hours. I had no problem with jack for charging so far, so I think that is not due to a problem. I tried something with the power for 30 seconds button now and it did not work. Does anyone have the same problem or at least an idea of how to solve this problem?

It seems that your charger is broken despite the supply voltage. My guess what it cannot deliver sufficient power. Try to find someone with the same charger (voltage, socket and polarity must be the same. There may be several amperes/watt) and try to use it. If you do not know someone who might have a charger as it try stores electronics or services.

I bought a used laptop from gateway with Windows XP Professional already on it. The person I got it never gave me the disc of Windows or textbooks and it is out of warranty. I had to replace the battery and the charger after 3 months of use, and it now gives me the blue screen.  I can't enter in safe mode, it gives me just all sorts of codes for Win32 /? I called my local tech and he said contact Windows to get a disk to fix the problem. How can I do (I'm not a comp WIZ). So I try here to get any help. I am on a borrowed laptop so if you can help, please send me a personal email to * address email is removed from the privacy *. I get their

After reading the owner's manual for the NX260X (Chpt. 7, p. 72-74) I am convinced that the laptop, as previously indicated above by PML, is originally came with Windows Vista.

In addition, according to the instructions of the manual recovery (pg.74, means only available recovery Windows are re - install using the supplied DVD.) This is meaningless given that bridge claims the recovery partition was part of laptop computers sold after November 2004.  I agree that, if you decide not to try to fix the errors, you should consider Windows 7.

  • Spectrum x 360: screen goes black randomly when on battery and some energy-saving options enabled

    Hello everyone,

I bought this fantastic machine called spectrum x 360 and I love it.

Unfortunately since the early days I'm facing what I think it's a problem of driver/software (not the related material).

This problem only occurs when I'm on Windows, not in the bios or at the startup. JUST IN Windows envinroment, especially after the login, and when the computer was turned off. Sometimes when I use it after a while, randomly.
This occurs only when the spectrum is on battery. The problem does not appear on AC adapter.

Problem: the screen goes black randomly for a few seconds and then reappear, sometimes the entire image on the right slide and there is a part that looks like yellow and corrupt, then goes black and reappears.

Windows Version: I'm on Windows Home 64 bit, build 14393.321 10 (update of the anniversary).

The entire screen works fine for normal operations, no artifacts.

    Replication of the problem
Initially, I was able to reproduce the problem with the driver build 4360 (which is the version of the driver from the HP site). Whenever I loaded the home page of youtube and the banner has started playing on the screen went black sistematicly.
Then I updated the GPU driver through the Device Manager, which has improved my GPU driver to 21.20.16.4494, as of July 25, 2016 and the problem happens much more rarely.
Now I am facing this problem again but Edge works correctly and is not the cause of the problem, it can appear even when I don't do anything with the PC.

I noticed this problem appears when saving options are enabled for the Intel GPU (I'm trying to translate this to English because the GPU driver Panel is in Italian):

    -update panel houses;
    -advanced mode; energy saving

If I disable these options, the problem does not appear or, better, for I've tested so far, he could not displayed when options are not in market, but I have not tested this very long to be sure.

In my opinion, there is a bug in the display driver, or some customizations made by HP causes problems with the driver.
The rest of the computer works correctly.
Any idea to solve this problem? Or should I keep these options turned off power saving?

    Hi, thanks for your help.

I have a passion for COMPUTING and ex-computer SCIENTIST, I am familiar in surveys on hardware/software questions and hope that this post will help some users get rid of this problem.
Black screens and screen corruption has been issued by the option called "auto refresh Panel" energy saving.
I did a lot of hours on battery (condition where this pop ups problem) in these days and the problem didn't show when it was turned off.
To verify that I tried to activate "Panel options self-identity" in certain occasions and, at random, on the first boot of the machine (after being turned off) the problem arises again.
It certainly is a problem with this energy-saving option.
    Now everything works fine.
If the problem appears again, I will post more information.
    Thank you for your support.

I think it would be useful to stick this post on top in this section of the forum, to be useful to other users and being more visible.

  • Satellite S3000 - X 4: the screen is blank on the battery and network

    Satellite S3000 - X 4 with problems screen empty.
The machine works with an external monitor connected. BIOS updated to 1.60, latest video drivers installed on Intel site. Installed power of Tosh management. Screen is blank on the battery and the system. No obvious response to listen autour mainboard or FL Inverter - or monitor itself.

Have you tried to reduce video settings in the power management of Tosh as suggested by someone else. Is FL Inverter probably at fault - if yes, where is the best / cheapest place to get a replacement to the United Kingdom?

    Hello

As you know all the parts, you can order by the service partner. If you know what are the parts that you need you can also Google around a bit and I'm sure you can find enough hardware stores online where you can compare prices and order cheaper.

Sorry, I'm not from the United Kingdom and may not give you a good info. Also, do you want to exchange it only?

  • HP Pavilion 17 Laptop: battery connected, not charging AND battery unaccessable

In recent months, at one point, my battery would indicate nn % (plugged in, does not support) and maintain this accusation so much it was plugged. Running on the battery, the charge would eventually diminish and in order to get the battery charge again, I went through the process of uninstalling the compatible battery control method ACPI in Device Manager. Usually within 24 hours, choses things would be back to plugged in, does not support. However, that is no longer to fix the problem. (When it was a question the indicator next to the place where the power adapter is plugged blue flash. Also, I upgraded from 8.1 to 10 a few weeks ago, but this question was held for a few months now).

Now the battery is 2% (plugged in, does not support) and when I use the HP Support Assistant to check the battery, I get the message "control of battery HP could not access the battery. I did a hard reset, reset the BIOS and updated the BIOS, to anything will do. If I unplug the adapter, the computer turns off.

Suggestions of additional corrections? I saw a further suggestion to perform a system recovery but I did not yet a recovery disk to win 10 (I don't have one for victory 8.1), and it would make a difference anyway since no plugged in, charging problem took place under win 8.1?

    Hi @shmay7,

From the information provided, I think it's a problem with the connection between the laptop and the battery. It might be something wrong with the point of contact between the battery and the portable or to the battery circuit. It is better to have another battery, so you can try it with the laptop. The creation of recovery media should not be affected by the problem of power with the battery is not installed.

  • Tecra A7: Is it ok to remove the battery and store it outside of the laptop?

I took out the battery of Tecra A7 my wife so that it does not load and offload unnecessarily (laptop works exclusively on the sector).

However, I read on the Internet that to take out the battery can sometimes be dangerous to its electronic components: namely, electronics no longer works correctly and the battery is considered to place in Notepad, as 'dead', even if this isn't really so.

This can happen with my Toshiba battery, too?

I did the same thing with my older Satellite P20. I put t see any problem here. But it is recommended to charge the battery and run the laptop on battery only from time to time. Charge the battery up and he sometimes empty. It's good for each rechargeable battery.

I put t know where you found this info but believe me you can remove the battery and laptop can run on power only.

    Sure!

Adhering to the recommendations made by the suppliers of battery cells and best practices, the laptop does not charge the battery when the battery is fully charged to 100%. Once the battery is fully charged to 100%, the load little "terminate" is defined, preventing charging the battery. The battery does not erase the cool bit "Cancel" until after the fuel gauge drops below 94%. Once the battery gauge drops below 94% fuel, the 'fresh' bit is set and the battery starts to charge with the AC adapter plugged into the laptop. If the AC adapter is disconnected between levels of 94% to 100%, "little fee" will not be scheduled and the laptop will charge is no longer the battery.
