Laptop battery only charges to 79%. Think I've changed the settings earlier to save the battery of thea, but now want to 100% load again.

My laptop battery is ok, but still only charge up to 79%. And stop there. What should do? I changed the settings as soon as possible to save the battery, but now wants to load 100% again. I can't find where to change them back.

If you start in System Setup (BIOS) - before any loading of the operating system - and look at the section health and charge battery... What percentage watch battery is charged it?  What status?  If leave you it in the BIOS and let it load this way - it's 100% top?  If so - what happens when you start in Windows?

(Trying to confirm this, it is an error within the OS and not a hardware problem).

  • Computer laptop battery "in charge" but stuck at 0%

    Hello

I have a G6-1b79ca Pavilion and the battery stopped charging.

Windows show "Plugged in, load" and level to remain at 0%. Forever.

Of course it is now completely empty.

If I remove the CC of the computer plug, turn it off immediately.

Here's what I did so far, more or less in that order:

    1. replace the battery (recommended by the logon page BIOS...)

    2 tried this popular patch:

Stop-> remove battery and power cord-> hold down the button "POWER" 30 sec-> power supply DC-> Boot->-> battery-> uninstall Microsoft ACPI-Complient control method battery -> Shutdown-> put the battery in the Device Manager (cannot start on him alone because it does not... but maybe that might help)-> start the computer

    3. updated all the drivers and reinstalled all the HP utility (got the Intel drivers on the Intel site)

    4. I updated the BIOS with the latest version and reset to default settings

5 tested the power supply with a multimeter (Psu unloaded, sleeve ground referenced outside it read 19.8V = internal plug, 18V centering PIN)

6 replace the motherboard (which has already been replaced)

    7. replace the power supply

    8 reinstalled Windows

9 weld the power directly to the motherboard adapter in order to bypass the connections all contacts (cut the CC Plug and soldered the bare wires directly on the pcb)

The utility HP BIOS (F2 on startup) told me that the new battery fails the test and must be replaced. Awesome.

The battery in the utility test assistant (run in Windows) HP tells me that the battery is OK, but would need to be loaded (Seriously? It becomes funny...)

So basically the material is new.

Utility Windows/HP tells me that the battery is OK, but the BIOS utility will tell me to replace it.

    What the hell is happening?

The material is supposed to be (entirely replaced) A1 and windows were completely reinstalled.

Any suggestion? My beginning of sanity to fade...

On a side note, here is the situation that I hope not occurred:

    1. the original battery has failed

    2. he burned the motherboard charging circuit

    3. I replaced the battery then damaged mother burned load circuit card

    4. I finally replaced the motherboard that was damaged by the new battery, which was damaged by the previous motherboard, which was damaged by the original battery...

5 return to square one, hundreds of $ less and a lot of time to lose...

I can't buy ANOTHER motherboard/battery combo without going crazy...

    Thanks for any help!

    HE IS ALIVE! Lolll!

The problem is the new battery, I don't know why, but it was completely empty and never had to charge.

I ask the seller to replace and load a new a bit so I was able to start on battery only.

I removed the power supply and the battery, which held the POWER button / 30 sec and started on the battery alone.

Once in Windows I pluged the charger and now it is fully charged!

Looks like the key here is to be able to start on battery alone. one thing I could never reach while struggling with that drained.

This thread of hope help someone solve battery problems, because there are MANY possible solutions.

  • Suffered the laptop using the recovery, but now only see 1 hard disk, not 2 disc

    Hello

I used the system recovery disk to erase all the data on my laptop and re - install Windows Vista a-fresh. I used to have two hard drives (C and E), but now when I restored it I have only one.

Should I just stick with it like that, or I can re - create the division?

    kjh888

    Hello

What model of laptop do you have?
With 2 hard drives do you mean 2 hard drives or 2 partitions on a HARD drive?

The point is that recovery disk formats the HARD drive and erase the partitions created on the HARD drive, so if you had a partition, then a recovery disk can delete it from the HARD drive.

  • HP ENVY 14 LAPTOP - cannot change the color of the menu of win 7

Right now I know it is a HP support forum but I have a HP laptop and desktop and I really hope someone here can help me really...

Good one a few months ago I bought a HP Envy 14 laptop and I must say that I really liked it. Then a few days ago, I just bought a HP desktop computer (can tell you I'm a fan of HP) and I love it also.

    Here's my problem...

On my desk, I decided to change her look, so I installed a custom theme (dark theme) and it changes the appearance of windows 7 and changed the color of the lower menu/taskbar of windows 7 in black and I really liked it. I decided to install this theme on my laptop and everything has changed except for the background color of menu/taskbar of windows 7 botom. For some reason any will not change the color of the menu bit matter what I do.

    I tried to go to:

Panel-> personalization-> change the color of window glass

and by selecting a different color but not matter what color I select windows 7 background menu/taskbar does not change it remains just the grayish color of say her since I got the laptop.

Now, why this work on my desktop but not on my laptop?

There must be a setting on windows 7 that prevents me to change the color of the lower menu/taskbar. Still worse firefox is horrible. I can not change the appearance of firefox, whenever I have try and install a new firefox theme does not change. On my desk, I installed a dark theme for firefox 11 (the Nasa Night Launch) theme and it worked very well but for some reason any on my laptop, nothing seems to work just...

I really hope that someon can help me with this because it makes me crazy...

DragonFur, I want to thank you for your time and your answers, you should know that it meant a lot to me.

After doing a lot of work and trial and error, I finally found a solution to this problem...

I did a lot of googling and research and what I found is that there are many people out there who are owners of laptop HP Envy 14 who have trouble changing the color of their windows 7 start menu/taskbar or with the taskbar is not not transparent.

Here are some of the things I tried.

1 Installing different themse (did not work)

    2. Update driver for ati radeon 5650 graphics card (did not work)

3 tried to adjust areo ensuring transparency has been activated (did not work)

    4. tried to bios update (did not work)

5 tried to use a program to change the color of the bar tasks (did not work)

What I ended up doing is creating a new user to the administrator and when I created this account is a program called "stardock mypaint" come asking me if I wanted to use this program to change the original theme for windows. When I said this software to change the original theme of windows 7, it changed my taskbar to the greyish appearance, it was the same off-white color I had on my account I tried to change. So I went back to my account and I searched for the program "stardock mypaint" and I have disabled this theme and then he changed my windows operating system 7 to an original blue theme but the taskbar was transparent! Then I went into my themes and changed the theme I wanted and my taskbar has changed color and transparency! Needless to say I was so happy.

I really hope that this post will really help someone else who is trying to solve this problem...

HP I really hope that maybe you guys can watch this program "Stardock MyPaint" which I think may be for HP Envy 14 laptop computers and allow users to know that the use of this program can affect other issues.

Isn't funny how the solution to the problem is always the simplest answer...

I knew there was something in the windows that kept my taskbar to be transparent and changing colors and it turns out it was a program of HP.

Yet once I really hope this helps someone else out there and I'm hoping that HP employees this will read so maybe they can help each other if someone falls on this problem.

DragonFur, thanks again for your help...

Hello, employees and others on the forum, I have a problem with my laptop currently battery. Are examples.

-Does not load when turned on, but cool when turned off.
-Port charger LED flashes between orange and white when it is off. (Although, when turned on the orange blink.)

I tried the method of discharge. (Disconnect the battery and Charger AC/DC, hold the power button / stop for about 30 seconds, then plug the battery back in and re-clogging the AC charger.) I had a problem with other methods, like I can't turn on the computer without the battery. I actually had this for 4 years and the warranty is already dissipated and it still works very well, except for the battery, so I don't want to lose, so if you could help me fix my laptop, that would be great! Thanks in advance if the problem is resolved.

4 years is about the max for laptop battery life. However, it should run/work with even without battery. You seem to have a defective power adapter - they wear out too.

Get your full model number or product and use it here to find the model of necessary power for your laptop adapter. Even if they don't have in stock, you should be able to find a way... Amazon, eBay, etc.

  • Laptop no longer charge! Battery almost empty, but is it also the faulty wiring?

Is it possible to charge my battery now? I think my battery is completely dead now. In the past months, he stayed on less and less time without his agreement. Today, he says "battery 100%" "6 minutes". Usually, I have it just load by turning the charger cord in weird positions. I don't know if it of a faulty wiring or not. I'd rather just buy a new battery to deal with faulty wiring.

Yes, I was making the change in your battery in the boot menu thing. I have a 625 HP and have had it for over 3 years now. Last year, I had to adjust my cable just so she can load. He stirs around a little bit when inside, but the cord/plug itself seems not loose or anything... Today, that did not work at all. I tried for several hours moving my rope to the right position for my laptop can turn on. I usually get it loads in not more than 1 minute, but today was different. Last year I replaced my load and it seemed in fact it is much easier to load. However, it is a loader rather newish and this is my battery at fault this time.

My problem will resolve everything by getting a new battery? I can probably go to Best Buy or something. Or maybe buy one online.

If you think that I can also be a problem with the faulty wiring, what can I do to get it fixed? I feel that this would cost me a lot. Or, do you get a new battery will solve my problem charging?

If you think that I don't have faulty wiring, then should everyone jiggle their rope around until their laptop starts to load? It seems right that that's what I have to do just to power my laptop.

In addition, if you think that Best Buy isn't the best place to buy a new battery (expensive as hell!), a link to a site worthy of confidence with fast delivery and the fair price would be great!

Well, it really depends on a few things, but replace the battery and the charger is the first step to discover.  It is not too difficult to find replacements, fortunately.  Here is the battery and This is the charger .

It could be a bad connection on the laptop itself, which would mean the jack needs replaced.  Not an impossible task, but it would have required a qualified technician to open the case to replace the power supply.
