Hello

Thank you for visiting Microsoft Community.

According to the description of the problem you are facing problems with your Windows 7 computer. The question might be if there is a file system corruption. Then I suggest you to perform auto repair. For the execution of the task, I suggest you to try the steps below and see if it helps.

Method 1:

When you use the recovery environment (Windows RE) to troubleshoot startup issues, first try the Startup Repair option in the System Recovery Options dialog box. If this does not resolve the problem, or if you have additional problems manually, use the Bootrec.exe tool.

Because you cannot start the computer, you may need to create a bootable Windows installation media, and then do an auto repair.

If you are using Windows 7 then the link provided below might help you to download and create installation media.

Download Windows 7 Disk Images (ISO files)

Method 2

Try to rebuild the BCD by using the Bootrec.exe tool.

To run the Bootrec.exe tool, you must start Windows RE. To do this, follow these steps:

  1. Place the Windows 7 installation disc in the disc drive, and then start the computer.

  2. Press a key when you are prompted. Select a language, a time, a currency, a keyboard or an input method, and then click Next.

  3. Click repair your computer.

  4. Click the operating system you want to repair, and then click Next.

  5. In the System Recovery Options dialog box, click command prompt.

  6. Type Bootrec.exe, and then press ENTER.

See the following link for more information:

How to use the Bootrec.exe tool in the Windows recovery environment to troubleshoot and repair startup issues in Windows

Hope this information helps.

  • Laptop does not start after Windows update

I have HP laptop with Windows 8.1.

It no longer starts after you install updates.

It has happened before several times. I used system restore and it should correct the problem temporarily until the next time for the installation of updates.

Now I can not even run system restore. He says that I have an administrator account.

    Help, please.

The process I'll tell you will solve the problem, but it leaves a few effects. All the installed update will be uninstalled the version they had when you have installed 8.1 windows and programs in your programs (x 86) NO program file in the C: drive or the drive where windows is installed must be UNINSTALLED. The uninstalled programs will appear on your desktop as Applications.HTML removed. If you have any problem with the effects that I mentioned that process as follows:

    1. at start up press F11 to enter recovery.

    2. go on recovery to solve problems.

    3. then in troubleshooting, click on refresh your PC.

    4. wait it ends (it takes about an hour)

    5. your system is restored.

    Hi all

I'm working on laptop HP Pavillion G7-1070us of my father, and I'm having a problem starting after the installation of 8 GB of RAM.  I upurchased 2 sticks of 4 GB of DDR3 PC10600 UN buffered, NON ECC RAM of Frys and everytime I go to start the laptop it throws an error that can not load Windows and offers to run the repair or start normally... little matter that you select, it goes back in the loop of what prompts to repair or load... The BIOS recognizes all the 8 gb... have you tried 2 different sets of different manufacturers (Patriot and Crucial). As soon as I pop 2 2 GB sticks in it boots fine... I even tried to start the the Windows 7 DVD to repair windows, but he always comes back in the loop... I tried the two current and previous BIOS without success... Help, please

However I don't have a recovery disc and machine is a windows coa on it.  I do not know what image to use 64 bit? House?    Do I need to download a special HP image?

    Thank you

    Ben

This hard drive works perfectly. The good news for you is that if you have 10 Windows on the old hard drive and it has been activated, you can use the tool for creating Windows 10 media on any computer to do an installation of the full version Windows 10 disc and reinstall Windows 10 and it will activate automatically. It sounds a bit like 'Big Brother', but Microsoft has a profile of each computer enabled with 10 windows and he "knows" your computer by hardware ID or black magic, that we can guess only vaguely. You just need to know if you had 10 Windows Home or Pro (probably home and almost certainly 64bits)

Post back with more questions. You have other HDD and SSD options, as well.

  • My laptop does not start after cleaning

    Hello
I knew an overheating problem on my laptop.
I therefore decided to remove a processor heat sink and empty dust. It was released with processor...
There was a huge load of dust, so I cleaned it, put new thermal paste...

Now computer laptop does not start loading Windows.
It checks only the CD, HARD disk, and that's it.
Screen is blank, ON the indicator led is on.
Two fans periodically start to turn (when they stop radiator heat - so the processor works)

    Where is the problem?

    Thank you

    Hi Dubas,
You can access the BIOS when you try to start your laptop? This can give you a clue as to why the OS will not charge.

  • Windows Vista does not start upward, with success since the closure complete

    Hello world

I actually had this problem for a long time, but I'm just now to a point where I'm ready to take a lead in fixing it.

I can't identify when it started, but Windows Vista does not start upward, with success of a full stop. He gets to the screen where, in general, the green bars will travel across the screen, but the green bars will not come. The screen looks dim and sits there, with the text of the copyright of Microsoft Corporation. So, after not having on the mound, I have to manually shut down the computer by holding down the power button. When I try to start again, told me to go through the Startup Repair tool. If I jump the repair, I just have to meet the same problem - a computer that will not go beyond the screen "green bar".

So, I do the Startup Repair, and told me what I do for the restoration of the system. Windows starts normally after the restoration.

Don't forget, this happens from a full stop. To remedy this, I just never completely shut down my computer. I left running and back just at the beginning of the day. The computer may start restart, it just may not start with a full stop.

Given the start of repair takes, literally, around 4 or 5 hours of full stops complete, accidental or power outages are a nightmare, I am obliged to wait 5 hours to get access to the computer. Fortunately, I have my laptop.

If someone has encountered this? I saw people talking about the loop of startup repair, but that's not the point, I have. I have yet to see any discussion of my specific problem.

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello

4-5 hours to do a startup repair is too long.

Often you get better results if you a using a DVD of Microsoft Vista startup repair.

Jose how to do a startup repair, etc. using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft

Manufacturers recovery disks normally do not have Service Options; they are normally a relocation to the factory only settings option.

Here is the guide to repair Options using a Vista DVD from Microsoft.

If a friend or a work acquantance of yours has one, you can borrow and use it for repairs.

    Table of contents

    1. Overview of Windows Vista repair options
    2. How to perform an automatic repair of Windows Vista using Startup Repair

If you do not or can not borrow a Microsoft DVD there is a download of a file ISO of Vista Startup Repair available that you can put on a Bootable floppy to make the above startup repair and that the method is recommended by a large number of posters in these Forums.

Unfortunately, you have to buy it.

  • Satellite M30-107 does not start successfully after using recovery disk

    Hello

I recently got my hands on a toshiba Satellite M30-107 laptop second hand and decided to freshen it.
I used the toshiba recovery disk, but after that the laptop is no longer support windows.

When turned on it shows booting Toshiba disc for about a second then goes to a screen blank and freezes.
When turned on, once again, a screen will appear an error by stopping and offer the opportunity to start in SafeMode etc but choose one of the options causes the machine to freeze.

Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

    Thank you
    JT

    Hello

Sounds a little like the laptop does not start because of the problem of Windows software
You did not recover the M30 with the original Toshiba that was provided with this device M30 recovery CD?

I may be wrong, but to me it looks like a recovery CD incorrect has been used and an image with drivers not compatible m has been installed

You can try to install the OS of Microsoft Win XP original CD and could check if it would be possible to get the notebook ruin using own BONE.

In this case we (you and me ;)) might know if this problem could be related to hardware or software.

    Good bye

  • Laptop does not start

My laptop froze and I had to force a stop to turn it off. Since then, it does not start upward. It shows the Toshiba screen briefly as usual then goes to a screen asking me to start up as usual, or try to repair the startup problem.

If I choose to start up as usual it displays the Windows logo and then after a short period back to the previous screen, if I choose the option repair the screen turns white with a white arrow cursor display and then nothing seems to happen. I left this white screen on during a few hours, but nothing.

    Any ideas?

Start your laptop and press F8 to display the advanced startup options.
    It work?

If Yes please try to start the operating system in safe mode. Can you do this?

Welcome to the HP Forums, I hope you enjoy your experience! To help you get the most out of the HP Forums, I would like to draw your attention to the HP Forums Guide first time here? Learn how to publish and more.

I read your post on the issue with the laptop won't start does not and wanted to help you!  I understand that the screen is damaged and you are using the external monitor to view the screen.  However, now that the laptop does not start, you can see is more of the external screen to see what is happening.

From my understanding, you should not be able to see an image on the external monitor, until you start the operating system.  You can try to perform a system restore by using this document:

You may be able to follow along, long enough until the image is displayed on the external monitor.  Otherwise, you can contact HP support by phone, for additional options.

My laptop does not start, how can he?

    Hey,.

First, a good thing to try is a hard reset of the computer.  The steps are different depending on whether your battery is removable or not.  See http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c01684768 for steps and videos covering this first easy step.

  • Satellite A200 - support Button does not start when windows starts

    Hey,.

Today, I decided to disable unnecessary programs as many as I could (to speed up my pc), so I went to Msconfig (I have vista home premium 32-bit) and a lot of things off. Including the "toshiba button support. The next time I restarted my additional buttons on the top of the keyboard all worked, next to one. Who normally turn on windows media player. This time, he did nothing at all. Game/resume, stop, forward, back and button internet all worked without problem.
However, I really liked the WMP button, so I tried to find out what the problem was. I discovered that it was the support of the key, so I decided to reactivate it.

However, this didn't not help: (.) I turned it in msconfig, but it does not start with windows more: (.) I know this is the program that I need, because when I run the program manually (this is the program: programfiles/toshiba/TBS/HSON.exe) the button works.
I put a V in front of the msconfig program, but it does not work. Anyone has an idea why not?

Edit: I found a solution, even if not the best. If anyone still has the same problem:
I made a shortcut for the program to run (can be found in C:programfiles/toshiba/SCT and is called HSON.exe). Then I clicked start and said 'all programs', here I chose the "opstarten" folder, it comes to the Dutch version, but my guess is it's called something like 'start-up' in English. In this regard, I glued (copy / cut-> paste) the shortcut to the program, and now he begins again :)

    Hello!

I agree with Akuma. You should try to reinstall the Toshiba value added Package. This determines media keys FN and all special functions on the laptop buttons.

Your hard drive is failing, fast (these things last forever). You need to replace as soon as POSSIBLE. If you have important data on what cannot be replaced I suggest you plug it into another computer as an external drive and pulling all the data you need it off.

If you do not have the possibility to connect the drive directly on another PC, you can download a live Linux CD/USB.

Step 1: Acquire a blank CD or USB. If you use a USB port, format it in FAT32.

Step 2: Insert your chosen in your PC Backup media.

    Step 3: Download Unetbootin.

Step 4: Select a distribution in the drop-down list. Just about anything will work, but for your application, I would recommend "Puppy Linux".

    Step 5: Select your media.

Step 6: Once Unetbootin is complete, insert your media in the PC is installed on the corrupted hard drive.

Step 7: Boot puppy. (You may need to select your Flash DRIVE or a CD in your BIOS)

Step 8: The use of the included file manager, mount the hard drive and browse for the files you need. You can then save these on another DRIVE or a CD drive, or the internet.

Help, please! Laptop does not start. Looking at the black screen with cursor flashing at the top left.

    Hello

If you do not, use another PC to create a Windows 7 repair CD.  Download the ISO from the link below.

    Windows 7 64 bit

You must use an app like ImgBurn to burn the ISO to a CD ( Note: you can deselect additional software during installation of ImgBurn options)- hereis a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write an ISO on a disc.

One time created, or if you already have this, typing away at the esc key when you launch Notepad to open the Start Menu.  Insert the CD to repair.  Select boot options ( f9 ), use the arrow keys to select the CD/DVD drive and press ENTER.  You can also get a prompt to "Press any key to" continuous - it if requested.

When loading, select repair your computer and choose the command line.  When this charge, enter the following commands and press on enter after everyone – including spaces as shown.

    Bootrec.exe

    bcdedit/export C:\BCD_Backup

    c:

    Boot CD

    BCD attrib s h - r

    Ren c:\boot\bcd BCD.old

    Bootrec /RebuildBcd
