laptop dropped 3 feet of wood flooring

Have a HP Elitebook 2540p [(hors garantie pour autant que je sache) sk781uc]. Was going to replace the hard drive, unit of setting on a bunch of papers. While I am and me a towel to put the camera on. Unit has fallen by 3 ft to a wooden floor. When I picked up the unit, the bezel of ExpressCard/34 slot (in white) was released. So I guess that the aircraft landed on this corner. Most of the edge of the frame of the screen became slightly detached, which I broke back down.

give him good check for any loose connections or obvious signs of component damage, but in fact he very likey you buy new Billboard.

    I dropped my laptop dv6-3033-cl about two feet, but it landed on a corner. I ran and slept, but it takes forever to open a program, if it is same. Checked the RAM and the other has been dislodged, I made sure that the two were firmly fixed in but it didn't correct the problem. When I restart Windows load as fast as ever. Any ideas what the problem could be and what it will take is to address? Thank you.

    Hello

    Try to run chkdsk as described below - make sure you put a checkmark in the box search for and attempt recovery of bad sectors as well.

  • Laptop dropped; system does not restart

    My phone fell a small table last week. Has started running very slowly. Tried to restart and nothing don't get going on... it was frozen. So I forced a stoppage. Restarted and nothing has worked. I cannot get into my laptop and already waited 24 hours while the system has attempted to create a backup of my files... which failed. Basically, I'm going to get a new hard drive (suggestions would help). My conern is to know how to reach all the drivers, software Windows 7, programs, etc. ??? My wife bought this for me to Best Buy. Should I go through them, or there at - it another option? My friend discussed that I would need a disc of recovery of some sort. IM also not sure what W7 system it was... If it's 32-bit or 64-bit. Does it matter? What is the advantage of a? Thank you much in advance.

    Laptop model - G72-C55DX

    OS - Windows 7 (not sure if 32 or 64)

    You do well!

    I just remembered why you had more than one large partition.  This is because you have run the recovery disk and it created a recovery partition and one for the operating system, then he bombed.

    Then, read this tutorial, delete all partitions, create a big so the only thing you see is a player. When you delete everything and then create a new one, it must default to the maximum size.

    But I always click on the arrow upwards in the area to ensure that it is the largest number.

    Then, after reinstalling W7 (you get good at this, aren't you), go to your device manager and you will see all of the listed material that needs drivers.  They will all be listed with generic descriptions and have little yellow! brands next to each of them.

    These are the guys that need drivers, more your video, which probably won't be on display in the device with a little yellow Manager! brand, but it is listed under the cards as VGA Standard controller display section and your graphics card will not look right.

    I realize, you can't get online, then take another PC, get a portable USB flash drive, access support for your laptop and driver on the link below page and download the driver on your portable usb flash drive files, that connect to your PC, refurbished and install the drivers in the following order...

    Now, who takes care of most of your missing drivers.

    But the wireless card, you ask...

    OK, because he could be one of several wireless notebook cards, I'll teach you a little trick to determine which model it is and this applies to any other remaining devices which may still have small yellow! marks next to them.

    I am not your PC, so I do all the foregoing based on the pilots, I think that you have for this model.

    You will surely have a device labeled with the small yellow network controller! Select this option.  Is your wireless card.

    Then, click on the device in Device Manager. Then click on the Details tab. You will then see a drop-down list of properties. Place on this list, and then select the second element (Hardware ID).

    After the first string of characters you see in the window. Those who will be identifty the model of the wireless card, and I'll send you the link to the drivers you need.

    Do this for all other remaining devices marked with the small yellow! Select this option after you have installed all the drivers that I posted above.

  • wood floor in perspective

    Hello

    I need to create a wooden floor in a 3-dimensional image. Can you help me? How deform you the panels made of wood to achieve the effect of 3-dimensional room? Now, I know that play with bosses does not solve the problem.

    Thank you in advance,

    zerusiek

    There is yet another option that you can create your floor int Illustrator as flat art in 2D and then save it as such

    and import it as a smart object in Photoshop Extended.

    You can turn that Smart Object layer in a postcard 3D and make rotate the smart object in 3D space more advanced Photoshops.

    It will be updated and it is possible to change since it is a dynamic object to a vector art.

  • Having problem adding to drag-and - drop operation to move the furniture on a floor plan

    I have the following code. I need to create floor plans where users can drag and drop the furniture on the floor plan.  I have three elements that work but when I convert all of the additional items to a symbol and select movie clip and then add several lines to the code, none work... How the code can determine that my clip I named 'couch' goes to clip 4.  Thanks if you can help, Frankie Foster

    Here is my code:

    var numObjects:uint = 3 / / assign the total number of movieclips that will be dragged

    for (var i: uint = 1; i < = numObjects; i ++) {}

    This ["movieClip_" + String (i)] .addEventListener (MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN, clickToDrag);
    This ["movieClip_" + String (i)] .addEventListener (MouseEvent.MOUSE_UP, releaseToDrop);

    }

    var selectedMC:MovieClip;

    movieClip_1.addEventListener (MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN, clickToDrag);
    movieClip_2.addEventListener (MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN, clickToDrag);
    movieClip_3.addEventListener (MouseEvent.MOUSE_DOWN, clickToDrag);
    movieClip_1.addEventListener (MouseEvent.MOUSE_UP, releaseToDrop);
    movieClip_2.addEventListener (MouseEvent.MOUSE_UP, releaseToDrop);
    movieClip_3.addEventListener (MouseEvent.MOUSE_UP, releaseToDrop);

    function clickToDrag(event:MouseEvent):void
    {
    selectedMC = MovieClip (event.currentTarget);
    selectedMC.startDrag ();
    }

    function releaseToDrop(event:MouseEvent):void
    {
    event.currentTarget.stopDrag ();
    }

    stage.addEventListener (KeyboardEvent.KEY_DOWN, nextQuestion);

    function nextQuestion(event:KeyboardEvent):void {}
    trace (Event.keycode);
    if(Event.keycode == Keyboard.Right)
    {
    selectedMC.rotation += 5;
    }

    if(Event.keycode == Keyboard.Left)
    {
    selectedMC.rotation-= 5;
    }
    }

    It is not a conflict, but it's a waste of code because they are both the same thing.  The first with the right loop is more effective in terms of coding and will make life easier for you because you only need to adjust the numObjects value to have it include more.

    You just need to assign instance names for the rest of your objects in the same way... movieClip_ # code as you (with loop version) should be enough.

  • Fan gets EXTREMELY hard on laptop dv7-HP-6135dx

    Hey everybody,

    I love my HP laptop and it's the first question I've ever had with him.  Unfortunately, it's like my child, and I love it so much.  I'm very worried about it.  In recent weeks, the fan got ridiculously strong and sometimes it's to the point that it makes the computer vibrate so much worse to be boring.  I went into the BIOS settings and changed the fan to be always on on and outside so she breaks now.  I tried to spray some canned air into the unit to clean it and it helps a bit, then returned to fort shortly after.  The fan probably needs to be replaced, but because my laptop is out of warranty I don't know what to do.  I could take it to Geek Squad or a PC repair shop.  Does anyone know how much a replacement of the fan on a laptop usually cost?  It is difficult to do it yourself?  It's very painful.  I have not had overheating problems, but I keep always the laptop on a desk and I have an oversized battery then the laptop always has air below.  I downloaded a program called Speedfan and not had much luck with the fan speed setting.  I really want to be fixed and only cost me an arm and a leg that I'm laid off.  Can someone point me in the right direction with regard to what I have to do.  The fan isn't always like that I say this happened not so long ago.

    Its a HP dv7-6135dx Notebook

    This is the product number: LW174UA #ABA

    I am running on Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - bit Service Pack 1

    The processor is Intel (r) Core i5 - 2410 M 2.30 GHz CPU

    The GPU is Radeon (TM) HD 6490 M integrated with Intel(r) HD Graphics Chip Family (switchable)

    Thank you very much

    Timothy

    Hello

    I'm sorry that your system is what gives evil at a time where it is difficult to simply to take you in and get it fixed.  It's always this way, it seems.

    You are right to make sure that the laptop is clean on the inside; There may be something still stuck inside - a bit of lint or small tiny pieces - after a few years of things find their way into the vents.  Maybe you're lucky and that's it, that is.  Just in case this happened, you can take another shot of cleaning from the outside:

    • Stop the laptop, disconnect external bits and power.
    • Get a wooden toothpick bit and turn the fan to turn into the wind on the side (or depending on the model).
    • Using a can of compressed air, a few inches, gently and repeatedly, using short strokes, out the air in the flue to dislodge dusty bits.
    • Repeat part cleaning for other events - not no need to toothpick...

    Then go to the hardware store and get a height rubber 'feet', small circles or squares of plastic / rubber.  Place a 'foot' on each corner of the bottom on your laptop, two of the feet on the edges of this nice big battery.  It is more more clearance under this laptop for air circulation.

    Go to your nearest electronics store and buy a laptop cooler.  You can get a really fancy with a switch for about $70 US - you can get a better deal that will work very well for less money.  Chillers running on USB 2.0, you don't need a USB port available on the laptop.  If you have too much already connected to your laptop, buy a small USB hub - if the HUB has its own power supply, and the hub will be on all the time, make sure you buy a cooler with a switch so you can turn off the cooler when you are not using it.  This is actually a good way to go, but it costs no more to put in place to buy hub fancy and fancy cooler, and I do not forget your finances.

    Put the laptop with new feet high on the new cooler, turn on the cooler and Ta-Da!  Extra cooling for this laptop struggling!  Low magic.

    When you get back to work, you can have someone look at your laptop nice and see what to do next.

    Good luck!

    I hope this helps.  It is not a fix - it is a workaround, and maybe it will do for now.

  • Frame surrounding the broken screen

    I have a Pavilion dv7 laptop computer that has a guarantee that missed about 6 months ago. He fell about 3 to 5 feet on a floor of wood and the back of one of the hinges depiles. I thought nothing of it, I felt just a cosmetic flaw and nothing to worry about. But now the frame surrounding the display is popping open / outside and I don't want to close the laptop because Im afraid I'll be forced and I'll break even more.

    So my question is what can make the frame / hinge of the breaking of the screen? HP offers any kind of repairs? I mean this is quite annoying, it's all because the plastic on the back of the hinge somehow skipped a fall (it didn't break just popped input/output)

    Laptops are not made to withstand a fall of 3 to 5 feet on a hard surface. You're lucky it still works at all. Is the hinge still OK? It works smoothly, or bind to the top? Frankly, I would need to see a picture of you tell exactly what parts it may be necessary, but all metal and plastic parts are available and can be replaced.

    The hinges are here, but there are dozens more like this set on eBay for sale:

    http://www.eBay.com/ITM/HP-Pavilion-dv7-left-and-right-screen-hinges-/261124571950?PT=US_Laptop_Screens_LCD_Panels&hash=item3ccc3cc32e

    Here is the frame that surrounds the screen bezel that is:

    http://www.eBay.com/ITM/genuine-HP-dv7-1245dx-dv7-1243CL-dv7-1135NR-LCD-screen-bezel-trim-/170791967754?PT=US_Laptop_Screens_LCD_Panels&hash=item27c3fe9c0a

    This part would be available in your specific color.

    Here is the Service Manual:

    Manual

    This repair is much simpler than a replacement motherboard and would be achievable by anyone with modest screwdriver skills. HP would charge you an arm and a leg... a few hundred dollars at least if they would even do. Even with the Geek Squad. Post back if you need help most.

  • Satellite Pro L300 - nothing appears on the screen

    Hello

    Stupidly, I dropped the phone on the floor and now I can hear the phone turn on and the loading of windows, but I don't see anything on the screen. If I pull the laptop to me, applying light pressure, the backlight turns on, but there is still no display. If someone could help it would be much appreciated.

    Thank you

    Hello

    I'm sorry to hear that, JungleMan, but it can happen to anyone. ;)

    In any case, I think that it s something wrong with the display and FL inverter which controls the backlight. You can see an image on an external monitor?
    If yes that internal must replace and also the FL inverter I think because you apply slight pressure only backlight lights.

    You can order a new screen and other parts of an official Toshiba authorized service provider in your country.

    Product name: HP ENVY dv6t-7300

    Operating system: Windows 8

    WiFi no longer works. I restarted and shut down the computer several times but it still does not work. It was fine until last night. I did all the changes to the laptop before it happens. But I dropped my computer on the floor, about 2 weeks ago. Last night the connection was pretty slow, so I turned on airplane mode, but the light didn't turn orange. Turn off the airplane mode and I couldn't find any network to connect at all. I rebooted my computer, wifi still doesn't work do not. Finally, I decided to give the laptop a rest and stop for the night. But this morning, wifi still doesn't work do not.  What should I do to solve the problem?

  • EA6900 - demystifying the bull

    Hey guys,.

    So, got a router to come in the next few days. Intended to be a fairly large AC, which received a diverse set of opinions. Let me explain what I have.

    Currently I have a router bit rotten to my ISP Technicolor, so obviously, I'm not a good camera, it restarts regularly, randomly drops 2.4 and records never my transfer and intellectual property assignments, overall, is a true b *.

    Is not dual-band, which means I use 5 GHz on it from time to time at the price of 2.4, and even then, it reached just outside of entrusts it to the living room, shortly after, it restarts and returns to 2.4 - can't wait to destroy viciously.

    Now, as someone who imagines themselves as a doctor/GP Online I look it up and find of course, a lot of people, with a lot of symptoms. Some are quite common, and I wanted to see if there is some truth, or user error - which I think might stand for 90% read feedback.

    So guys, what's the score, call bull * beep * or let me know if theres anything I can do to avoid the blunders.

    -Regular restarts to resolve instability 2.4
    -Overheating affecting the wired connections
    -Poor performance USB R/W
    -Bad customer service who wants to charge you after 3 months

    Now, honestly, I expect most of the which is bollocks. These same people tent for raving about Netgear N7000 and especially AC68U, now I'm not pro here, but the material seems VERY similar. The stock firmware Netgear is garbage, and I have zero interest in flashing DD - WRT unless I can risk the brick, and I'll do it, much as a phone or a Tablet fell for my DIY

    Regarding the Asus, it costs * beep * loads more where I live and hardware, from what I've read, is the same - why pay more?

    I not afraid of a little heat, however, stability is King, if there is a router that gives me a good range of 5 GHz in a smallish House and does not need to reboot every week or two, I'm happy.

    Regarding the USB, I don't need the best, as long that I access my disk regularly with a product pretty read speed to handle FLAC or some generously compressed - DVD rips I'll be a happy Bunny.

    On you, please share your experiences, hoping that I can be someone who responds to questions rather than their request in the near future, this forum

    I can tell you some of your questions. I have this router and using firmware 1.1.42.161129 it has been fairly stable. I put on a shelf and don't mess with her. Heat doesn't seem to be a problem for me. I have 20-25 devices connected at a given time PC tablets to phones. Also a small server for storing files using NAS. I use 2.4 and 5 GHz at the same time and get the right distance. I can connect to the 2.4 as well as in front of a neighbors House. The 5 is a little bit shorter, but works almost everywhere in my house of 1600 square feet of 2 floors. Here's a report from my router I just shot today.

  • EA4500 quality of speed and quality of the Signal

    Bought the new EA4500 one a few days ago and watched my wireless connection and see it varies from to 144Mbps 72Mbps.  He has jumped up to 270Mbps sometimes, but rarely.  Shouldn't be 300Mbps most of the time?  My laptop is 4 feet off the router and the router is a cardboard box on the top being raised away from interference.  The previous router was a dlink 855 that went crazy after 3 years.  I think that I was usually at 270 Mbit/s with whom.  What gives?  Should I get a faulty router?  With this new router, I was expecting the range to be much further and more quickly too, but this isn't in my family room.  2nd router floor, family room is 1 floor over about 50 feet away and I have 1 MB/s - 5 Mbps.    Everything is set to Auto on router and IP6 is disabled on the laptop.

    The laptop is 3 years old, has the latest network updates and has used the two wireless G and Wireless N.  Intel WiFi link 5100 AGN network adapter.  Just passed under the advanced network adapter setting and the 2.4 GHZ has been set to 20 Mhz only.  I changed my car and double-checked the setting for 5 GHz.  Now, I'm getting my full 300Mbps on my wireless connection.  Very strange.  I'll see how it behaves at distance next week.

  • Registry is corrupt and computer do not start

    I think my son has pulled my laptop on the couch on the floor, he also pushed a lot of buttons. The computer was frozen and when restarted, it could not start and went to repair module. It is said, "the registry is corrupted. What can I do about it? and how can I get my data? I don't want to lose my data!

    Restore point:

    Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

    Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

    Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

    If restore work not and you do not have a Vista DVD from Microsoft, do a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:

    Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.

    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.

    When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.

    Download/save the file Knoppix Live CD ISO above.

    Knoppix is not installed on your PC; use only the resources of your PC, RAM, graphics etc.

    Change the boot order in YOUR computer/laptop to the CD/DVD Drive 1st in the boot order.

    Plug a Flash Drive/Memory Stick, BOOT with the Live CD, and you should be able to read the hard drive.

    When the desktop loads, you will see at least two drive hard icons on the desktop (one for your hard drive) and one for the USB key.

    Click on the icons of hard drive to open and to understand which drive is which.

    Click the icon for the USB drive and click on "Actions > Change the read/write mode" so you can write to disk (it is read-only by default for security reasons).

    How to get Vista recovery Media or the Vista recovery Partition on your computer back to factory settings.

    There is no Vista free download legal available.

    Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.

    Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.

    In addition, ask them if you have a recovery Partition on your computer/laptop to restore it to factory settings.

    See if a manual provided with the computer or go to the manufacturer's website, email or you can call for information on how to make a recovery.

    Normally, you have to press F10 or F11 at startup to start the recovery process...

    Another way I've seen on some models is press F8 and go to a list of startup options, and launch a recovery of standards of plant with it, by selecting the repair option.

    See you soon.

  • Extremely poor bandwidth WiFi - with Windows only

    I have two laptops running Windows 7. One is mine and is about five years old. The other belongs to my employer and is less than one year.

    Both computers have problems of severe flow with Comcast Internet service and WiFi router in a House to sleep during the work week. My room is one floor above the router, and horizontally, almost on top of it. The windows of the signal strength meter reports four bars. Windows has no trouble to make and maintain a liaison, but the flow is so poor that a simple web page takes several minutes to load, when I can load one at all. With common modern sites such as yahoo.com and ebay.com, the server usually expires before I can load a page at all. I have similar problems with e-mail.

    I tried to use my laptop a few feet away from the router (in the living room of my landlady). Flow was not excellent, but it was good and consistent.

    Last night, I tried to use the same computer in the lobby, about 20 feet from the router and separated by two walls. I had five bars and a very low flow.

    No computer is having problems with the WiFi in my house (also using Comcast) or at my place of work.

    I have a Kindle that communicates slowly but surely my rented room. It reflects the strength of signal as "good" or "fair". Another tenant uses a Kindle in the room next to me and has no problem. My owner use a MacBook and have no problem. She also has an old Windows XP machine which is connected to the router and gets a very low flow.

    So, in summary, two on two Windows computers have severe with this router and only this router flow problems, regardless of the strength of the signal, unless they are literally sitting next to him. A third has problems of large flow with a wired connection. And non-windows devices three out of three have no this problem.

    What happens here? Windows is just particularly poor to cope with real-world WiFi? Or is there some sort of incompatibility between Windows and this particular router or network upstream? How can I identify the problem and how can I solve this problem?

    I am writing this wrap. I bought a TP - Link PA4020P Powerline adapter kit. I chose it because I think that I mentioned in a previous post: a product of brand with many not bad reviews that raised red flags when I read the comments and a rating average high. I also held a direct power connector.

    I connected two adapters to two shots in my room and you press the pairing button. The lights of the fool said that pairing has been successful. I moved a lounge where the modem hangs my landlady, and presto, Instant Internet. After all I've experienced in the last two months, it was rather disappointing.

    I would like to again I knew what was wrong, but since I solved the problem I can't complain too much! I recommend this to anyone in a similar situation, as long as they would be satisfied with a wired connection.

  • Windows does not start interrupted G62-144DX...

    This morning in my coffee pre mist, I dropped my laptop about 3 feet on its lid that broke the judgment.  I picked up and opened it, it resumes windows (it was the sleep) and everything seemed cool.

    I closed a few programs that were up and everything was fine until I tried to close the video editor I had opened.  It wouldn't close.  I then tried to restart it and nothing happened.

    At this point, I did a hard reboot by holding the power button.  The computer off and tried to restart it.

    He's going to market, display the HP splash screen and then "starting Windows" screen... it's going no where.  After awhile, he flashes a blue screen (too fast, that I can't read anything on this topic) and then says "Windows is not started, a new piece of maybe the cause of the hardware store, you want to run Startup Repair?  I clicked on Yes and she who starts but only as a 'foggy' blue screen and I got an arrow which I can move, but it doesn't do anything from there...

    It sounds like my hard disk is screwed?  What next steps I can take?

    TIA

    So it seems damage you your HARD drive.

    When took you over after a fall for laptop windows, programs that you used probably stored in RAM, so it worked for awhile.

    While it was necessary to show the working HARD drive, windows crash.

    Although my HARD drive failure prediction may not be 100% accurate, but I would say that you will end up replacing hard drive. Then, everything should work perfectly.

    Also, before this, you can try to reinstal of your operating system.

    Regards and sorry for your loss of data.
