Laptop freezes when restored from sleep mode.

Hello
I'm running Windows XP, SP3 on a laptop Lenovo Thinkpad 61 T.
My computer works fine, except that if I put in mode 'sleep' and then wake it, it freezes. Even the Windows shut down does not work, and I have to restart with the power button.  When the computer reboots, it works fine.  I did virus scans and even replaced the operating system and installed programs with an image that I made well before this problem started.
I could use some advice.  Thanks in advance.
Dan S

Could be something as simple as a video driver, or a change in the power settings.

Can first update you your video driver to the latest version available?

The go to start > Search > type CMD > right click and run as admin > type powercfg /a

Cutting results and upload them to us here.

Listen buddy. It's really not easy to say why it happens without running diagnostic tests. I think you should try to update the graphics driver and check if you are using the latest version of the BIOS. Two updates might be useful in resolving these issues

After the upgrade to Sierra, I noticed that the clock in the menu bar (top right) show wrong time.  This occurs when the iMac comes out of his SLEEP.  When I hoover the pointer of the mouse on the clock, it would turn into a spinning ball (i.e. no response).  I have to disconnect and reconnect so that the clock in the menu bar to indicate the correct time.  She would continue to work until the next time that the iMac comes out of SLEEP.

  • Apple TV 4 is not connect to wifi when return from sleep mode

When I turn on my Apple TV 4 is not to connect to any wifi NET. If I search for it, it does not appear. However if I take the Apple TV, it is already connected. It's a little bother doing this several times...

I'm afraid that there are already several discussions on this problem. Search for 'sleep' and 'network' or 'WiFi '. But it doesn't seem to be a solution. It seems to have started with tvOS 9.2, which I assume you have. And it affects all ATV 4, so it's something to do with your ATV settings or the configuration of the network, but I don't know what it is. Please report it to Apple to the https://www.apple.com/feedback/appletv.html . We hope it will be fixed with an update tvOS.

  • MacBook pro freezes for 5-10 minutes everytime I wake up from sleep mode?

Since the upgrade to Yosemite, my macbook pro goes to the loading screen grey which usually appears when opening my laptop after that he almost dies everytime I wake up from sleep mode. It freezes on this screen for a few moments, and then when I get to my normal screen, it continues to remain frozen for an extra few minutes. The mouse will not work until a "Set up Bluetooth keyboard" menu appears, then disappears. The problem has persisted through several software updates. I searched endless forums and topics, but none seem to match my problem. Can anyone help?

    Data sheet:

I had the same situation; started during the upgrade to Yosemite, continued with El Capitan. I tried a n y t h i n g for a few months, revisiting the forums etc. The message in the system log, leaving the "driver GPU seems to be suspended. Does my Mac Pro completely unworkable. It was a software problem because it does not occur in safe mode. Now I just went down to the Mavericks and the problem is completely resolved. I can use my computer again.

  • laptop won't wake up from sleep mode

laptop won't wake up from sleep mode

    Hello

    Here's the quickfix.

Set the laptop to sleep instead of Hibernate. Portable computers may have problems with the Hibernate function. Here are the instructions to navigate:

    1. go in Classic view of Control Panel. (Ctrl + ESC, then type 'control' to quickly control panel access)

    2. double-click on the icon power options

    3. click on "change when the computer sleeps.

    4. click on "change power avancΘs."

Go to the menu of sleep and

    value "Allow hybrid sleep": OFF

    * Set the parameter "Hibernate after": NEVER

Note: You need to type the following in the field, what is not there drop down to select.

This is most likely the issue and the resolution. However, here are a few other troubleshooting steps if you have any questions:

  • CS5 frozen when iMac wakes from sleep mode

This problem just started, and I don't know if that's a problem INDD or Finder. When I wake my computer from sleep mode and try to access the INDD, I can't. I click on the application icon in the Dock and it will not come to the front. All my other apps will be. I have to force quit smoking INDDD every time, and then reopen it. It is if I have a document open or not. I tried to zap the PRAM and closing, unplugging everything and starting up but none of those who have helped. Any tips or ideas of what could be wrong?

This is the plugin Extensis Suitcase Fusion self-actuation!

So, disable it to confirm. Make sure that you use the latest version and if so, take up with Extensis. I think they have a free support on their web site.

In addition, you must update InDesign to 7.0.4 you run 7.0.3 and there were a lot of bugs.

I've had this laptop for a little over a week and when it goes into mode 'sleep' trying to wake him up, all the lights on the keyboard lights up and I hear it works but the screen remains black. I updated display drivers and that fixed it for a few days but now it stopped working again. updated audio drivers would force it to not wake from sleep mode kos that he worked well, since I've updated the display driver and then yesterday I updated audio drivers and he returned to not wake up once again in mode 'sleep'. any help much apreciated.

Updated the BIOS and update the driver to display again.
Maybe the after the audio driver that something was wrong, you can clean the registry using CCleaner in most of the cases it s a good idea.

Any suggestions on the next steps to solve this problem?

    Thanks in advance.

    Solved the problem!

The BIOS has a setting in the section advanced to Wake Up capability.  Compatible USB S3 Wake.  Now, the USB-232/4 is powered over the recovery of the standby mode.  When this feature is disabled, the USB-232/4 light not upon resuming from sleep mode and probably hung up the pilot, preventing a normal recovery.
