  I am not sure that would cause your problem.  However, I would like to recommend that you try to use a USB mouse for games.

  As you can see in my signature below, I have a laptop HP Omen's game.  I use a Microsoft Wireless Mobile Mouse 3500 with her.  It is not the absolute solution, but it is easier to use the touchpad.  At least, for me.

  I recently bought a PC with windows 8 on it and it works fine. but every once in a while everything freezes except the mouse. I can still move the mouse but cannot click on anything. Explorer freezes, and all my open programs and etc. task bar clock freeze.
