Laptop HP 15-ac121dx: slow, late response

I just bought my new laptop, the Windows user 10 first time, I took it for a computer scientist because I am surprised at the slow, this is when clicking on things or loading pages... He seemed to think that something was faulty.  In addition, the touchpad is not responding all the time... and I can not find anywhere to adjust the "sensitivity" of the touchpad.  I think I have to return my laptop?

    Hello

I use Vista Home Premium on my Toshiba laptop and everytime I open any folder for example my document, my computer it takes about 10 seconds to load properly, can someone help me please because its makin me depressed especially when I bought it not long ago. Here's my laptop specs...

    Toshiba, Windows Vista Home Premium
Intel Pentium Dual CPU T2370 1.73 GHZ, 2 GB Ram

    Hello

What cell phone do you have exactly?

I must say that a fact that a Vista needs 10 seconds to open a file doesn't mean that your laptop is running slowly.
There are many reasons why Vista needs a little more to open a folder.
First he must know that Vista needs a lot of material resources; more than a Win XP or other Windows operating system. In addition, the high amount of background processes can slow down the Vista.
Last but do not rent if an antivirus program is installed on the laptop, then this could slow down the performance too because each file is activated by the Antivirus before opening.

What you could do is to start the msconfig and you can check in the Startup tab if there are processes and applications that are not important for you.
Then you can turn it off.

  • XY graph slow in response

    Hi all

I have 2 XY graphs in my VI and for some reason any 1 XY is super slow in response. I enclose my vi here which shows the behavior.

There are 2 XY graphs. The top is super slow in response and one below behaves normally.

Could someone please look at the vi and let me know what is the problem with the slow chart?

    Thank you

    Ritesh

    Ritesh,

I think the data are written for graphics before changing the Visible property to false. I ran the Profiler and saw indications of quantity of memory used which resembled a copy was made for the chart slow, even when she was invisible.

When I put a structure of sequences in the nodes property and wired through the data in the graph, I can't slow it down or copies of additional data.

Consider that your chart has only 800 + pixels in width and you are feeding 200000 data points. The internal code of the chart should reduce these data the number of pixels on the screen. The x-axis data is linear. If you have reduced the data, especially at the end of the high frequency, it would probably speed things up. Also because the x-axis data is linear, you can use a waveform graph, and not the graph XY. I don't have test intensively, but with a waveform graph, it seemed much more quickly.

    # I just noticed you have smoothed checked on the slow chart and not on the quick graph.  Turn on other charts that slows them, too!

  • HP laptop purchased with Win Vista later upgraded to Windows 7 - laptop damaged

    Hello

I bought a laptop HP with Win Vista later upgraded to Windows 7. Now, the laptop is damaged for the 2nd time. I would go for a locally assembled desktop computer with Intel, last configuration chipset.

Can I use Win Vista / Win 7 license key on my desktop? What installer I use (Win Vista or Win 7)? and how do I get the installer?

    Thanks in advance

    Best regards

    PAL

    Hello

You cannot transfer the license of Vista.

If Windows 7 Upgrade was not part of this upgrade offering free back then, you can transfer, but you need an operating system to be installed to upgrade.

Read this information and you will understand what I mean:

If the computer/laptop comes with the preinstalled Windows operating system (Dell, HP, Acer, etc.) or is licensed to OEM System Builders, that the product key that came with the computer/laptop is preinstalled OEM license and is not transferable.

OEM license/product key (systems of operating pre-installed on Dell, HP, etc.) and the license OEM System Builders are related to the first machine it is installed on and dies when machine who dies.

Only retail Operating System license that you buy and install yourself, are allowed to be transferred to another machine.

And retail licenses also can be installed on a machine at one time.

  • HP Envy, Windows 8 slow, late and does work does not correctly

    Hello

First off let me give a run down of my installation:

-HP Envy Dv7, (about one and a half years)

    -Windows 8.1 (I upgraded windows form 8)

    -HDD 750 GB (Stock)

-Everything else is stock based on the computer

So, my trouble started about 3 months after what appeared to be a routine stop after a day use.  The next time I started my computer took a lot more time to start, I got an error that talked about my control center catalyst having an error and does not and that nothing would be open to all.  After the merger with different ideas on how to solve the problem, I dropped and it factory reset.  This fix has worked for the whole two days were once again, I got the same problems, I did another reset and when it does not work I gave up for a while.  About two weeks ago, I again have to reset it and then updated for windows 8.1through microsoft dreamspark.  This seemed to fix my kind of problem, the same questions (not counting control catalyst who never returned after the update) would be upward if I have it plugged anything in the USB drivers.  Now for some unknown reason which was not the case for my wireless mouse which worked just fine.  If at this point, I have a mouse plugged wireless and no problem whatsoever.  One day I shut down my computer with the mouse is always plugged (I never do usually) after I do all my troubles to come back but enlarged.  I tried to do just a refresh of windows but it says that my hard drive is locked and let be honest I really want to keep refreshing and resetting my laptop and lost al my stuff.

So now, here's a list of my exact problems in most occuences recentof, now:

-Slow start and typing in my password take like five minutes to register that I typed in fact anything

-l' unlock screen is for like five minutes

-My Office take a good ten mintues to load all my icons and others

-J' have a popup that says IEWebsitelogon, not having that take a long time to close

-EACH window is delay, that is difficult to change their size, move about minimize, close, etc...

-Every thing take > then five minutes for open including Manager, start menu task

-Much more delay and related issues

What is one thing to hard drive? They are not too expensive to replace, so I can get another copy of the win8 form my school so if that is the question that is very well.

I really need help, my computer is basically usless, I am a student I need my computer please help me.

    Hello

As you probably know, the error code 24 characters for short drive Self Test (DST) would indicate that hard is defective and must be replaced.  It is also entirely consistent with the problems of performance, as you describe in your initial post.

If there is no help, the player at the link below is an example of one that would be perfect for your laptop.

750 GB hard drive for laptop.

The procedure to replace the hard drive begins on Page 56 of your & Maintenance Guide.

  • HP laptop model: 15-ac121dx: upgrade of ISP speeds to 200/20 from 30/5... I am capped on the speed of DL tho... Help?

My ISP sent me my new router/modem that was installed. They then sent a mail about 2 weeks later indicating the new speeds came into affect. My old speeds were 30/5, now, they should be 200/20. The upload speed is perfect every time to settle at 21-23. It is wired btw. Download caps, 38-40mbps speed. My wifes laptop (Mac) Gets the 200/20 every time, when the WiFi it obviously goes down a bit, but not by much. My ISP had a tech come out and his laptop got 200/20. My iPhone which is WiFi all obviously gets 100-130mbps download. Now I know why my laptop is capping at 40mbps-38. And you mind that's all new laptop just bought 1 week ago and came up with 10 windows already on it. Any help would be great.

Quick Note: My Xbox One also caps to 38-40mbps and it is also wired... the two Microsoft, the two Windows 10

    Hello

Unfortunately no, well Yes, but it will cost pile because you have to change the circuit board (motherboard) which can cost up to 75% of the price of the machine now, plus the cost of installation.

Update: Other options is to use USB adapters, but they are not cheap.

    Kind regards.

  • Incredibly slow Internet response time.

    Original title: taskbar

I had a problem with incredibly response times Internet. After reboot, I discovered in the taskbar, the icon of the single computer that deals with network connections, i.e. wifi had an x in it, which means it is turned off. (This isn't the icon to connect to the LAN of double work). Because my PC is using wifi and is not also connected to the cable, I was wondering what task is connected to wifi.

I also noticed that my Internet speed of response actually works at an acceptable speed now that the icon shows it is off. Which task is this icon, so that I can disable it using msconfig and task is WiFi so that one is not?

I use a Dell desktop computer, through Time Warner Cable. I had the SP3 for some time and that you have not added any new programs or updates, that I remember for a while.

The only change in my computer added wifi (after moving to a new House/State) about six months ago.
As a further complication, when I logged on today, connecting to the wifi network shown in the taskbar opened and ran into a mode of connection 'very good '. So yesterday and the previous week, I had access to the Internet with it NOT connected. My taskbar displays a computer screen green with waves in the upper left corner and says "Netgear WNA3100 is connected to...". "my camera wifi router in the basement next to the TW modem.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that there are two connections wifi different trying to run... one that was working yesterday and one today showing tasks in my bar.
I blame that for my calculation of the slow speeds.

Looks like you have three icons of network connection...

    1. area (cable) connection icon - two screens - probably with a red X

    2. the icon of Windows wireless - a blue screen with 'waves '.

3 - Netgear wireless connection icon describe you it as 'green with waves screen '.

It also seems that maybe you think that 2 and 3 are separate connections. This is not the case, they will just separate indicators of the same wireless connection.

Reading between the lines a bit, my guess is that you used to have only 1 and 2, but now you have the 3rd too. If I'm right, probably, what happened is that you have started the application of Netgear wireless configuration, which experience tells me tends to 'support' of Windows wireless configuration without even asking if you want that to happen. All you need to do to get rid of this icon of the green screen is open the Netgear configuration (via its system tray icon) and find a check box saying "let Windows to manage my wireless network connection" (or words to that effect, in addition, it is that the word 'zero' in the text). If you have no network connection after doing this, then you were always in a Netgear configuration and you will have two choices...

    1. Start the Netgear form the menu start and reverse the changes that you just made
    2. Configure Windows to control the wireless connection

If you want to Setup Netgear instead of Windows use, I think that you will have to put up with the two icons.

  • Computer Toshiba laptop XP runs very slow, how can I speed up?

I have an old Toshiba laptop with Windows XP, Version 2002, Service Pack 3. There R Pentium 4CPU, 2.40 ghz with 256 MB of Ram.

It is so slow that it's like watching paint dry. I deleted all the programs that I dared (those I asked about) and I defrag regularly. There seems to be a lot of many programs (including Toshiba ones) are not in use, but being a non-techie I daren't delete them.

I need help to allow him to work faster - if it is possible.

    Any help would be wonderful.

    Thanks - Chris

    * original title - old and slow *.

Adding more ram is not a task difficult because memory ram chips simply plug in a socket on the motherboard.

However, it can be difficult, because it requires opening the computer.   Then there that understand particular motherboard configuratoin needs when it comes to memory.

Some motherboards have specific requirements for memory.

so the first step is to look at the manual of the computer on the configuration of the memory section and see if you can add more ram, or if you need to get out of this little chip of 256 out and just use a larger chip, such as 1 gig of ram.   (for ordinary computer users and xp, it is not necessary to have more than 1 GB of ram installed)

with regard to the safe mode.   you are unable to connect to the internet because it is not allowed.  However, in safe mode with networking you can, since the internet is a global network.

the reason why security mode perform better than in normal mode, is due to the fact that non-microsoft programs, IE third party programs are prevented from loading into memory and running.

as a result of not having other programs the windwos (by itself) is able to work ok in / with the chip memory.

In contrast, mode normal, windows + third-party programs are loaded in your partial memory chip, and it's moving the system.

If at this point, you could try to eliminate some of the programs that are automatically started and running in memory for windows in normal mode get an improvement in performance.

the method is called "clean boot" and here are the steps:

    http://pcsmarties.WordPress.com/CleanBoot/

but the above method plus adding more memory to your computer, is the way to go.

either said by the way, if you want to perform a clean boot, make sure not to disable the start up programs for what is toshiba, like the mouse or the keyboard.

on some laptops the mouse drivers are loaded at startup and that you have to plug a regular usb mouse for some functions of the mouse until you can re - initialize the mouse driver.

In addition, you mentioned that malwarebytes found some infections.   Although this is a good thing, it is hoped that the infection is not one of your folders of window system corrupt.
