Laptop HP 15-R204NE: clean install of Windows 10

Hello

I'm ready to do a clean install of Windows 10 but the only thing that worried me are the drivers provided factory installed with my laptop, it was initially delivered with Windows 64 - bit of 8.1. I don't want to lose one that I have no idea how or where I'm going to do if I lose everything. If someone has a way to understand this help is very much appreciated.

Kind regards.

Hello Zarakkhan ;

I read your post on the new install of drivers of Win10 and wanted to help.

As to the first, the upgrade of active Win10 through something known as right digital, install some sense, when you perform an upgrade on the spot on an existing Win7/8/8.1, upgrade reuses the existing product key for activation.  After you confirm that the machine is turned on, you can THEN do a clean install on the same machine.  IF you do a clean install without activating the first, you will not activate your copy of Win10.

That said, MS released earlier to a new update to Win10 and (allegedly), you should be able to do a clean install with NEW media made from multimedia authoring tool and have it activate using your product key of Win8.1.  But, I haven't read anyone done this yet, is just a rumor at this point.

As for save the drivers, there's a product excellent freeware called Driver Backup.  After you download and install it, you can then save out all your current drivers on a USB key.  This will make reinstall them later a simple process. I know it works because I use this product myself.

Good luck

I'm a volunteer and I do not work for, or represent, HP.

A clean install of Windows 8 will be erase your other files by definition as recovery disks. Fortunately, Windows 8 has a few new options of Maintenance not seen in earlier versions. You can try a BONE 'refresh' that will install the new system of Windows 8 files without disturbing your data or settings.

  • Pavilion 14 G6S71UA #ABA: I'll always be able to use the pre-loaded software HP products if I do a clean install of Windows 10?

I have a laptop 14 flag that came with Windows 8.1 - 64 Home, and I have upgraded to Windows Home 10-64. The upgrade went very wrong, but I would use Win 10 if possible. Microsoft recommends that I have to do a clean install of Windows 10, which will require you to reinstall all my programs MANY. They cannot tell me, however, if I'll still be able to use some of the applications delivered HP pre-loaded on my machine and that I find very useful - even if I am out of warranty. For example, I use HP Support Assistant updates the driver, and I found that HP DriveGuard works really well!

I'll always be able to download all of these products and hence? I'll be able to get them on the page of the drivers for my laptop? If I can't, I'll probably have to settle for return to Windows 8.1.

    Thank you.

Because the rep on the Microsoft forum did not answer my questions, today I called the support of Microsoft Windows 10 phone number. After that the rep is lost another hour of time my (and their) me browsing to enter SafeMode via several methods, everything I told him that I had already tried. the representative suggested that customizations of account that I had applied could be the cause of the distress.

She also informed me that, for security reasons, Windows 10 no longer allows connectivity Mode Wireless safe; Although, if your PC is physically connected to the modem/router, you should be able to enter in IE (and maybe even in Edge) in Safe Mode.

So I added a new local administrator account (that said, I log in with a password and not with one account Microsoft.), to be used only for safe mode and left all its parameters to the default values for Microsoft. And it worked! When connected to my router, I could get in Mode safe mode with internet connectivity via IE! Thanks to this rep, I finally have success.

I forgot something.  The boot.wim file has two images.  So after step 2, you must do exactly the same thing again but on index 2 like this:

    mount the boot.wim file

  • Clean install of Windows 10

Recently, I bought a laptop Aspire ES1-531 with Windows 10. When I'm surfing the web my laptop grinds to stop while it transmits the return private data from me to adsafeprotected, chartbeat, google-analytics, brightcare and others. Since it is installed Acer aps and not the cookies I'm unable to use CCCleaner toget rid them. I would like to format the PC and do a clean install of Windows 10 without Acer aps being included. How can I make sure that junk Acer is not included in what I guess is a new installation?

    Thanks in advance.

Prior to that, make a usb recovery drive so if you want to recover the laptop factory system, you will have the resource.

I was going to do a clean install of windows xp and for this I'll use the drive of the Dell operating system I have. Using what I had to restart my laptop with the disc in the drive, follow the instructions and get to the stage where the partitions are listed. I was going to delete the primary partition, and then just create a new NTFS partition. Once the installation program would end, I suppose that the machine would take me to configure the user account, but how does it work with activation.

1 should I disable xp first, or given that I have you deleted the main partition is my license already disabled xp and I can use it again? And I am doing something wrong with the whole installation process.

2.Oh, and by the way, is the license code that can be used on a similar xp installation? As if the machine is xp home edition is installed now, I can do the clean install with xp home edition with media center edition 2005 and work with this version activation code?

    Thank you all!

Dell OEM of Windows version are tied to the computer first it is installed on. That's why the disc and product 'cannot' book key using the CD in Media Center. You can try to use the CD key and product of the media centre but be prepaired ro reinstall XP home if it activates or the device drivers does not not to the configuration of your computer. I used the words "cannot" work I've seen in the past apparently universal CD a Dell for some reason any worked.

    Hello

That's right; with Vista Home Premiun upgrade paths are for Windows 7 Home Premium or Ultimate.

It is one of the reasons why you should do a clean install.

The other reason is that you can NOT put 32-bit to 64-bit.

You need a clean install to do.

Follow these steps before you install or buy Windows 7:

Go to your computer / computer laptop manufacturer Web site and see if Windows 7 drivers are available for your make and model computer / laptop.

If this is not available, Windows 7 will not properly work for you.

Wireless card not working after a clean install of Windows Vista

I did a clean install of Windows Vista Home Premium on my HP Pavilion of 32 bits. I've completely updated Windows via Service Pack 2. Given that the clean install, my wireless card, Intel (r) Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN, was not able to detect all the networks. I can connect to the internet if I connect physically my computer to the modem with an ethernet cable wireless, so the modem isn't the problem. Other computers can connect to the wireless modem, so my Wifi modem functionality is not the problem. The problem with my computer.

I tried to uninstall the Intel driver and reboot my computer with the generic driver. Install the driver generic, but my wireless card has not always worked. I then ran an update of windows, nothing helps.

So after I installed win 7 Professional I just copy and replace Driverstore and C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRVSTORE instead of download the drivers?
BTW, I'll accept your next answer as the snap

You will use the copied Driverstore and C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM32\DRVSTORE for is the source of the drivers when you then. Do not replace the folder in the new installation of Windows with the folder that you copied from the initial installation of Windows. It would not be a good idea.

Once you have done the copy of the file and have it practice you can simply put the installation DVD into the DVD drive and boot from it. There will be a point where asks you if you want to save your previous installation. Say no to it.

At this stage you can always do a defined recovery disk. I recommend that you do this. This is the copy of the operating system and drivers you purcased your PC with. If you do not want is not a problem like UO can always buy it at HP over the next years.

I recently did a clean install of windows 10 using the tool of media (I updated to 10 before the clean install and used my product key). I noticed that he installed a 32-bit windows 10 OS. I believe that my laptop has a 64 core processor and I wonder if I should have installed a system of operating windows 64 bits instead of 32 bits.
