    Hello

Error code 24 characters for short drive Self Test (DST) would indicate that hard is defective and must be replaced.  This is also consistent with the startup problem you describe.

If your laptop is still under warranty, contact HP and arrange for the disk replaced - you can check the status of your warranty here.

If you live in the United States, contact HP here.

If you are in another part of the world, begin here.

If you are out of warranty and would like a guide to replacing the hard drive yourself, let me know.

When I press the advanced settings, I get continue, turn off your PC, using a device or troubleshooting. The product is a touch HP 15 t. • Laptop screen stuck on digital flat panel (1024 x 768 60 Hz)

I have a Dell Inspiron 17r is 7720, and after an update of Windows, the monitor is stuck on the "digital flat screen (1024 x 768 60 Hz)' display. It happened on a previous Windows Update, but he himself corrected after you tweak a little.

    The symptoms

    • The monitor displays the digital flat screen (1024 x 768) as a pilot.
    • The laptop is still usable but very difficult to see.
    • In its current state, I am unable to view related BIOS menus.

Text or menus that use the BIOS appear empty what locks me to do an OS reinstall. I have access to the system restore, but only through the method of the control panel. Do anything through the SHIFT key + stop method is out of the question.

The last time I had this problem, I tried a bunch of different methods.

    • Restore the system to an earlier date. (Not a not correct the problem)
    • Reinstalling Nvidia and Intel drivers (not a not correct the problem) display
    • Reinstall a Windows Update after system restore (seems to have fixed the problem).

Naturally I tried these methods again to my current problem, but this time it did not work.

  • my laptop is stuck in restart asking the media to reboot. I don't have a cd/dvd for windows 7 then what do I do?

Hi after have been stupid enough to download windows 10 and realize it is absolutely rubbish, that I decided to go back to windows 7. Unfortunately Windows 7 will not reinstall it is now stuck on reboot

I don't have a disk to reboot my asus windows key does not work so I can download my tablet with a help of usb!

I need to restart my laptop, Microsoft crashed it not me it worked perfectly until windows 10! Please give me instructions on how to restart and how to get a dvd or a Windows 7 usb download.

You may need to try using the recovery partition or borrow Windows 7 reinstall media or ask ASUS recovery media:

    Try running the recovery partition:

New computers that come pre-installed with Windows often have what is called a recovery partition. This is used to reinstall an operating system in the case of a system failure. To access it, you need to start when you start your computer by pressing a function key. This can be either F1, F2, F9, F10, F11, F12 key DEL or tab. See the manual that came with your PC for instructions on how to reinstall Windows.

If your recovery partition is not available or damaged, you must contact the manufacturer of your computer, and request that a defined recovery disk you can use to reinstall Windows 7. They could practice a small shipping and handling.

    ------------------------------------

This is how the recovery partition is accessible to most popular brands...

For Asus, press F9, as soon as you see the Asus logo.

If you know a friend with a disc of Windows 7 at retail, you could borrow them and perform a custom installation:

How to: What are my options for Windows 7 reinstall media?

If you are able to get a drive, see the instructions how to perform a custom installation:

If none of the above solutions don't agree, its best you download Windows as a 10. ISO and perform a custom installation:

  • ASUS laptop computer stuck on reboot screen after system restore

    Hello

I did a system restore on my laptop and asked that it be returned to the State where he was 3-5 days ago.

It was all going well until he came to turn it back on - it is now stuck on the screen to restart for almost 2 hours!

I don't want to cut to the case that it damages, but I don't know how to get out of the reboot screen.

Any help/advice would be much appreciated :)

    Hello

This problem could occur if the system restore was not completed successfully.

If the computer is blocked at the start screen, I suggest you to restart the computer and see if you can start the computer normally.

If this isn't the case, I suggest you to perform auto repair from WinRE. Check if it helps.

To run auto repair on follow computer Windows 8 as follows:

    (a) to Insert the media (USB or DVD) and restart the computer.

    (b) key press F12 (usually it's F12, but it may differ between computer manufacturers) and choose the drive that you inserted the installation media in.

    (c) once the Windows Setup window appears, follow these steps:

    (d) click Next , and then select fix your computer.

    (e) you will see a blue screen and a option to choose.

    (f) select the Troubleshooting option and select Advanced options.

    (g) you can choose automatic repair in Advanced startup . option
