Laptop HP Pavilion: mass storage device problems
I have a 1 TB mypassport mass storage device connected to the computer. When I access the camera or only 32 MB of storage is displayed. You go to properties and looks like it is partitioned and do not show the capacity of all of the device I'm so lost
I discovered what had happened. I had put off the hard for the recovery of the system and, in so doing, so blocked 32 MB disk and the rest was just let go. I had to go back and assign a new drive for the rest of the unused portion. I always learn something... Thank you all.

Impossible to safely remove external USB HDD - ejection of mass storage device problem
Hello
I have a 250 toshiba external hard drive. "When I go safely remove device and click on stop, guests me that ' ejection of mass storage device problem and try later.
Is there a reason for this? As I have heard it is dangerous to pull the cord without stopping it first.
This happens usually when something is always access to the USB - HDD.
Yes, it s dangerous to pull on the cable, because you can lose some data and the file system may be damaged. But if you have a situation where you need the drive to take with you and want to just get out the cable to the USB port there is a little trick to disconnect the security apparatus:Do right click on 'My Computer'-> click on Hardware-> click "devicemanager"-> go into "diskdrives"-> then you need to click on the drive that is your USB - HDD-> with the right button and then click on 'Properties'-> in the menu properties of this drive, you must go on "policies" and click on "optimize for quick removal"-> and then click OK and exit this menu and all-> perform a reboot-> closing information fact. :)
After that, it s safe for remove you your drive even if it s not ejected. :)

USB Mass Storage Device problem
I have the HP Pavilion Elite E9120f desktop computer. Whenever I start the computer, it shows that I have USB mass storage drives, G, H, I and J. However, there is no attached USB mass storage device. No one knows why this happens? I just usually click on the removal of the safety equipment and remove false devices. I get the message "this device can now be deleted without the computer problem. This machine runs Vista and has a 1 terabyte of hard drive. Thank you
Bart, have you checked in 'My Computer' when this happens to see if the drives are there? Almost looks like you have a virtual drive on your computer program. Check also in start/startup to see if he is there that nothing listed that could cause this to happen. Four readers Ghost is really strange.

USB mass storage device problems
In recent weeks, I was unable to read the files on an SD card and a USB key. For both the SD card and thumb drive, a pop-up message says the card is not formatted and asks me if I want to format it. Both drives work fine in another computer Windows XP and a Vista computer, are formatted and data on them.
Device Manager shows no conflicts. I tried to uninstall everything under "In Bus USB controllers", but the problem persists.
I did some research on Google but nothing seems to work. My computer is a Dell Dimension 4700 running XP, SP3.
Any help would be appreciated!

When I try to eject safely my external hard drive safely I get an error with this title message telling me that "this device is currently in use. Close any programs or windows that might be using the device, and then try again. "I did it. I also tried to close all programs running on the computer and it does not help. Hi a. Cook,
(1) how long have you been faced with this problem?
(2) is limited to any specific USB device?
This problem may occur if there are handles open with all the files in the USB (Universal Serial Bus) mass storage device are in use by another program.

(a) Download Process Explorer from the link below
http://TechNet.Microsoft.com/en-us/Sysinternals/bb896653
(b) click on search, find handle or DLL (Dynamic Link Library) in the tool menu.
(c) type the drive letter of the USB device in the handle or DLL substring text box and press the search button.

Problem ejecting USB Mass Storage Device [Unlocker doesn't work]
Hey everybody,
Just like everyone else, I get a pop-up message when trying to eject my external hard drive WD: "problem ejecting USB Mass Storage Device. Windows can't stop... "and so on." This does not work when I've only sailed on the disk, but it does, for example, when I made a mistake - check or make a backup. I already checked the forums, but unlike everyone else, third-party programs do not work for me.
I did the following:-closed open task
-disabled virus scanner
-used Unlocker and Process Explorer, but he can't find any process that locks my drive. What happens here?
-rebooted in safe mode
-disabled indexing
It makes me crazy that I have to restart whenever I want my drive to eject.
Oh, and I use Windows 7.
Can someone help me solve this problem?
Hello
(1) is limited to any specific USB device?
(2) did you try to connect the device to a different USB port and check if you are facing a similar question?
This problem may occur if there are handles open with all the files in the USB (Universal Serial Bus) mass storage device are in use by another program. Follow these methods and check if that helps.
Method 1:
I suggest you run the hardware and devices Troubleshooter to check if it helps.
Open the hardware and devices Troubleshooter
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/open-the-hardware-and-devices-Troubleshooter
Method 2:
I suggest you to check and clean the boot if any third-party program is causing the problem.
How to troubleshoot a problem by performing a clean boot in Windows Vista and Windows 7
http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/929135
Warning: After you used the clean boot in order to solve your problem follow step 7 to reset the computer to start as usual.
Connecting and disconnecting USB devices:
Most USB devices can be removed and disconnected at will. When you unplug the devices of storage, such as USB flash drives, you should be sure that the computer has finished saving all the information on the device before removing it. If the device has an activity light, wait a few seconds after the light has finished flashing before unplugging.
If you see the icon remove the device safely in to the far right of the taskbar notification area, you can use this to ensure that devices have finished all operations in progress and are ready to remove. Click the icon and you will see a list of devices. Click the device you want to remove.
You can use any USB port when you plug in a device you have installed beforehand. However, the first time you connect a device to a particular port, Windows will install the driver for this device again.

So I created it for my BB Curve 8330 (Verizon Wireless service) last night.
- I formatted the 2 GB micro SD card
- I changed the drive letter to avoid a conflict
- I have all the latest updates I know from this announcement. (4.5.0.77 on the phone itself)
- List of media cards: support 'on', 'none', Mode of mass storage card encryption mode 'on', scoped the mass storage mode when connected to 'yes '.
Everything was fine. Even had a few tunes out there to jam to.
Not even 24 hours later, I wanted to add more music and photos to personalize the BB more far. So I plug it into the PC but my computer Vista OS won't let me access the memory card. The BB has popped up on the list of drives, but if I click it, it says I need to insert a memory card into the mass storage device.
I go to the BB Desktop Manager and go to the media. I have almost the same question.
Even with a pop of the battery, check the memory card using a card reader (card is good) and the reintegration of the memory card, the problem persisted. I had to re - format the memory card on the BB again (to wipe everything), and then when I plugged in the USB cord, I could access the card again in the mass storage device.
Reformatting was not a big deal since it's not like anything on the card has not been already saved elsewhere. However, I really don't want to have to do that on a regular basis. I understand the technology hiccups every now and then, but if I have to do every time, it's going to be a pain in the rear.
So all that being said, is there something that I forgot that I need to check or trouble so I don't have to constantly re - format my memory card and re-load all on it? I have tried to do everything that I could think of and I tried searching these forums very, but I had no luck (or did not use the appropriate search string) in the generation of responses.
A card microSDHC fixed the problem. The old card memory, I got in it was a regular 2GB microSD card. I bought a 4 GB microSDHC card and the problems no longer exist.
I wanted to get a card greater new anyway, so I'm glad that all worked where I didn't have to do anything unwanted. The old card memory is great; It would be not just works perfectly in my Blackberry. I'll give it to the lovely lady of the House, who can update the 1 GB card in her phone.

USB mass storage device driver problem
I have 64 bit computer purchased new in July 2012, running Windows 7 with a Lexmark Interpret S405 printer. It has been installed and works well for months and today, I asked a print a page on a Web site, and it would not print. I received an error message indicating that the printer cannot communicate with the computer. I tried to delete the request for printing, but the computer did not respond. So I rebooted it. After it restarted, I went to devices and printers to check the printer, and there the image representing that she needed troubleshooting. Tried, but it did not fix the problem. Then I received another message: USB Mass Storage Device has a driver problem. Tried to find and install the updates for it, but the info said that the driver was already installed. Can you help me solve this problem? I'm not a computer scientist, just a frustrated computer user. Thank you!
I asked a question yesterday about an error message that says: USB Mass Storage Device has a driver problem. This morning I tried unplugging the power to the printer and then plugged back in.... problem solved. No need for additional assistance at this time. Thanks anyway!

Re: NB550D - 'No mass storage devices' during the installation of Windows
Hello!
I recently bought a laptop Toshiba NB550D. It goes with Windows 7 Starter. So I decided to change the operating system, I want XP Pro or Windows 7 Edition Home Premium. Because the laptop is not a CD/DVD drive, I looked on the net for Windows USB installation.
Problem is that when I install the USB, with regard to the partitions, it says I have no mass storage devices. I tried with XP and Home Premium, used 2 different programs to make bootable USB (WinSetupFromUSB and WinToFlash) and I tried with 3 different USBs to be sure that the problem is not of them. Both seem to do the job, but it still says I have no mass storage devices. I read on this forum, found [how to integrate a SATA AHCI driver into a Windows XP installation CD | http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/TSB85017Z0000R01.htm] thread. I tried this, make an ISO with the built-in driver, made an another bootable USB key with it, but still, when I reached the partitions, they seem to be missing.
I checked if the partitions will show if I start installing Windows directly from the Explorer to the laptop and partitions are then normally, so it seems that the problem only occurs when you try to install from a USB. But I want a * install own bootable *. I have no CD/DVD lens, so this isn't an option more.
I'm really out of options on the left, tried everything I thought, it seems that I'm not the only one having this problem, but found no solution to it. Even if I put up with the Starter (even if I don't like), the HARD disk is separated into 2 partitions the two 116GB which is also very annoying.
I'd appreciate any help! Thanks in advance!
P.S. I also installed the latest drivers, BIOS seems to be too, but still did not help.
Hey,.
Which AHCI driver, I joined?
Article you found how is just an example and is written for models with Intel chipset. I checked the NB550D specifications and this model has chipset AMD A50M, so you need another driver and the Intel driver will not work.
So if you are looking for Toshiba NB550D European driver download page, you will see a driver called AHCI driver. This package contains the correct AHCI driver, but the problem is e for Windows 7 only. For obsolete XP it will not designed more pilots and that AMD is brand new. There is no old drivers.
If you want to only Windows 7 Home Premium that s no problem. Therefore, you can use the mentioned AHCI driver. For example, to create a new Windows 7 bootable USB key with this driver and installation should work fine. :)

What series of notebook or laptop model do you have?
Could you please put the whole number? It would be very useful for further study. All the installation driver Toshiba must be made in the right order.

Are you sure that the USB is not bad? Also have you tried on some other computer USB3 ports to see if those who can see the drive? Looks like your USB is not USB3 if it can read the disk HARD USB3 but not the USB3 Flash in question. Also make sure that your laptop ports are USB3 ports? In the contrary case, we owe this: to check if the ports are USB3...
