Laptop keyboard repair center took the picture of is not the same as the one I sent by mail in

A little more than a week, I sent my laptop DV7 in HP for the fixed sound, apparently the sound holes had gone wrong. Nothing else was wrong with the machine.  I had worked with the technician to chat for about 45 minutes, allowing access to the computer and everything he could find it is than its neeed replacement hardware ports. Still, the machine was working beautifully except for the sound. After that I got the box, I've had packed it correctly and picked up by FedEx. After a week I get a support call telling me there is water or liquid damage not covered by the warranty, I want to pay $240 to get it fixed. I knew there were never water damage to my machine. I was talking with him and it came down to fifty percent to $117. I was not happy. But later, when I got the photos, I knew that photo of the keyboard with the tasks of water it was not mine. I called and this person has allowed me to go up the scale to climbing team. I was reminded and fees I paid with a credit card could not be charged or refunded. I was happy about it until...

Until I got this note about repair and parts required for the repair

FAN - HEAT SINK

1 685445-001 MOTHERBOARD

TOP OF 684559-001 - TOUCHPAD COVER 1

KEYBOARD 685445-001

All these parts were bad, I could not have continued to use my machine without any problems for 2 days, and still less to enable a tech to enter my machine with the applet, I installed to see inside and to control. Everything that was wrong with the machine, I sent was scientifically. The machine they say is fixed is not mine. And, as I said, the picture of the keyboard water tinted / control pad almost looks photoshopped. It was not the machine that I had put in the FedEx box a week before. Everyone has heard something like that?  Still, this machine had no water damage ever while I had it. What HP service set hand on, it is something like this.

I get a machine on Tuesday. I don't even know, after all that be my machine. I know I've had several stickers on the top of the machine, so this will be a test. Of course to find the serial number may be next, not sure about this. I always let HP go in my machine when I chat online to help find all of this information. But, my Lord, the photos sent to me were horrible. As something left outside in the rain for days. This machine has been wonderful and I never would have allowed anything to what HP said had happened. I'm sure, as I said, I would not have been able to use it for several days as I waited for the box so it's like the service center said and sent photos of. I am at a loss. All this would be just a mistake? Again, I will see Tuesday, April 1 and write here what is what.

UPDATE: although not an explanation of the mystery, HP really made up for all the worries and confusion of the mysterious water damage. I am very happy all around.

Thank you. But my HP escalation manager did any good yesterday.

  • BlackBerry smartphones, what is the difference between the messages icon and the one with my e-mail address as title?

Hi, I'm new to blackberry. I just got a "BOLD", and some of the icons seem to be redundant. If someone could explain why I would really appreciate it. I had trouble getting the results of a search of forum so I apologize if this topic has been discussed recently.

What is the difference between 'messages' (which looks like an envelope) and the other envelope with the globe on it (which appears as [email protected])?

Can I delete one? I don't understand why there are two.

Also, why is it "medianet" and "browser"? They aren't going to the same place? What is an AT & T thing where they try to control the universe?

    Thanks for your help,

    KG

With the BlackBerry, you can have up to 10 "BIS" (BlackBerry Internet Service) email addresses, but also a company e-mail sent to your BlackBerry address.  It is also SMS (text) messages, PIN of PIIN messages and MMS messages.

Each BIS email address gets its own icon which will appear only this e-mail by e-mail address.  The Messages icon ALL E-mail addresses sent to the BlackBerry.  It will also display all messages in pine and optionally show the SMS (text) messages and phone calls, and IM still active cats.  But there is no icon for only PIN messages.

The fact that there is no way to separate the email from company to a simple icon is a point of contention for some users.  There is a product (Empower BES Mailbox - OTA / Web $20) which will create an icon that displays only the Enterprise email.  However, you can also create a saved search to display only the BES (BlackBerry Enterprise Server) email.

If you prefer using a simple icon of Messages or have separate icons for each email address is a matter of personal preference.  If you have only one or two emails being sent to your BlackBerry, there is probably little difference.  However, I have six accounts BIS as a BES account delivered and many prefer to have a place to look when I hear or feel that a new message has arrived.

In addition, equipped with a full QWERTY keyboard device, I'd rather be able to use the shortcut keys to access ALL the applications on my BlackBerry.  In fact, I have everything I don't need (including Messages, all messaging icons, address book, calendar, Notepad, etc.) in a folder called hidden since I never need them!

  • Laptop keyboard is locked on the number and symbols.

Keypad is locked on the blue numbers/symbols instead of type normal letters. For example, because me, the keyboard step 5. It's a HP Pavilion Entertainment PC laptop running Windows Vista. How to move this back to normal typing? I have a wireless keyboard for Windows I use to work around the problem, but I want to disable this and use the computer to places other than the office. Thank you.

Try combinations of keys like Shift + NumLock or Fn + NumLock to activate turn off the number lock feature, see the documentation for your laptop or HP web site for more details on which combination of keys will turn off the number lock feature.

  • returned form (sent by mail) further expanded the fields?

    Hello

Sorry for the very simple question, but I have an irritating problem

I created some forms of LC that has the feature that if you select a certain country of some fields appear/disappear depending on the choice of the country.

I've also attached a "Submit form" button so that the form is sent by mail in PDF from a central point. All this seems to work perfectly.

The problem now is that the returned pdf shows always all areas, regardless of the choice of the manufactured country. Where I was hoping he would send the saved as PDF and thus showing only fields that are required for that specific country.

Is there a way to change this so that it matches my expectations?

    Thank you

The problem is that you change the State of form of masking and display content based on selections. This information is not saved by the screen when you send it. In the designer, if you go to the form and file/properties/Defaults in the script box, make sure the changes script preserve to the form has the value not manually and automatically and try again.

    Hi Tanuj,

There is no place to change fonts.

You must go to the LR Edit (or Lightroom on Mac) menu > Preferences > Interface > choose 'Options' in the menu 'panels '. There should be a setting for the font size of Interface. You will need to close and restart LR for the font change are taken into account.

  • How to copy my files to email contact lists for transfer on my laptop after repair of the manufacturer.

    Hello

My laptop almost 3 year, shows signs of age and I have to send it to the manufacturers to replace a keyboard and the reader of cd/dvc. I'll have to save all my pictures and documents on a portable player so I can copy them to the repairedcomputer once it is returned to me. I also have a load of saved bookmarks which I want to keep and I think that it is also possible. My biggest problem is I use Thunderbird as a filing system for all important emails and keep my email contacts list and I wish I could copy them all when I clear my computer so I can copy them on my laptop newly repaired.

For most of you, this task is as simple as copying my photos or documents, but I get very confused with profiles etc in Mozilla. I wish it were as easy as a file, copy of emails to... but not yet. I would appreciate help on this.

Crush the Thunderbird profile folder ends the new profile. So, you have just an old.

  • Chromebook: Sent someone at - it a laptop for repair because the keys were not working?

Several keys on my keyboard do not work.  As suggested on this forum, I have powerwashed the Chromebook twice with no change in the problem.  I contacted HP and I received the box to return it for repair under warranty.  My question is this: does anyone know if I should including the adapter?  The person of tech for the repair, I talked said I shouldn't include it but said that the documents sent by the repair center to register.  I called back several times to try to get what I thought, it was a simple answer or not available.  I want not to return the adapter so I won't get it but I don't want to prevent the repair center to be able to fix the keyboard.  Thank you!

    @NicoleNEO

The only time that you must include the AC adapter is when it is supposed to be a problem with this component.

HP has all the cards for all computers, laptops, tablets and desktop computers.

Given that the HP representative said the, you do not send in the adapter.

    Cover your back:

If you wish, put a note in the box that indicates that you have said do not send adapter.

And, Yes, if the problem with the keyboard is revealed to be the adapter, you need a new adapter.

Add to your notes that if the problem is not found, you suspect the power adapter, after all.  HP can you send simply should the tech Department think that a new adapter is needed to solve the problem.

  • A real OS Windows 7 on the drive usable in another working laptop during repairs?

I was asleep for the use of my computer and knocked over a can of soda through her, and she trotted away for more than 6 hours, until what I woke.

I first noticed the image on my screen flickered whenever I hit the keyboard, it took 10 minutes to find out why.  The top surface of my computer and the keyboard are not sticky, and it was not much of a wet place.  But when I moved the computer, and several ounces of soda dripped out in cd/dvd charger, I realized what had happened.

I managed to all close and remove power and the battery without seeing any sign of damage electronic or digital, but it will be some time before I lucky will use again.

I can't afford to have someone else fix it, but I am technically qualified to disassemble, clean and reassemble.  I already know the hard disk and the operating system have survived, because I moved my laptop in another drive that I borrowed from my brother, and I use it to write this discussion.

I need most of what is on this drive to use daily in my business, I am familiar with how it works, and I do NOT want to learn how to use another operating system right now.

I've damaged my laptop, but it should be used every day.  I thought that since I was the legal owner of the operating system under license from my computer, I should be able to move my hard drive intact a laptop different, until repairs are made.

It seems not simple, however, because I need some drivers, but Windows messages continually interrupt everything I do.

Is it possible that I can use my own hard drive and operating system and still no drivers, I need for this computer, and then switch back to my own computer in a few days?

Well, if it's a license of Windows 7 purchased in retail store you purchased and installed yourself, it should not be a question of transfer to another computer and use it as long as you install the drivers appropriate for this configuration. If it is preinstalled on the other system, you move well, then you will not be able to transfer bee successfully since its related to the old system, meaning that it will not be activated.

Otherwise, if it is a retail license and you are able to clean and sort the system that you upload, you can always move it when you are ready. Since his work on the current configuration, I use the opportunity to back up all your important data.

    Hello Barbaram1,

Use the Windows key + R on the keyboard or click on start, select run.
In the run box, type services.msc
    Click OK.

Make sure that the Security Center service is enabled and started.
Probably, you will need to click Start to start the service.
The Startup Type should be automatic.  The status should be started.

Let me know what happens. If the problem persists, it may be that there are residual questions of the malware infection.

  • On NEW laptop keyboard does not work after that the screen keyboard has been activated and then deactivated.

Look at my friend got a new laptop and went through the whole upward. the on-screen keyboard has been activated which invalidates the real keyboard when the on-screen keyboard has been disabled the real keyboard has NO return. If this is a bug... Fix it. This is not a driver issue, it is not a user error. Stop giving people answers, trying to pretend like it's not not the OS when most people already know that it is.

I'm sorry, but I didn't not new meant only one day.  And when I got my new laptop, one of the first things I did was to create a point of files, even a day later I had a restore to use - point and that was possible here as well.  I'm sorry it wasn't the case.

If the system restore option is not available, do a startup repair, boot from the disk Installation of Windows Vista genuine (or one that you can borrow from someone) or a recovery disc.  Here is the procedure: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial148.html.  You may need to change the BIOS to do first the CD drive in the boot sequence to boot from the CD.  To do this, hold the screen that tells you the key F to push to enter the menu start or start of installation.  Push it quickly. Make the changes, save your work and exit.  Put the CD in the drive and reboot.  When you are prompted, press any key to boot from the CD.

If you do not have a floppy disk, you can make a bootable recovery disk by using http://neosmart.net/blog/2008/windows-vista-recovery-disc-download/ with burning software like: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html and, of course, a blank CD.

If this does not work, you can try to go into the BIOS during the startup (the key appropriate to push appear on the screen to enter the boot menu or boot installation - try them both in turn if both appear. It is possible that the BIOS contains an option to disable the keyboard (which may have been activated by the keyboard on the screen but not changed when disable you the on-screen keyboard) and you may need to re-enable manually.  There is a slight possibility, but it is an option to try.

Another option to try is to set up a new user account that has never used the keyboard on the screen and see if the regular keyboard works when you connect to this account.  If so, you can simply treat the original as a corrupt account account and use the following procedures to complete the transfer.  To fix this use http://windows.microsoft.com/en-AU/windows-vista/Fix-a-corrupted-user-profile.

I hope that one of these aid procedures.  I'm sorry if they seem to 'generic', but we do not really know what is the problem - especially since the system is new.  We try and identify the cause and fix the problem at the same time using the procedures available to us.  I suspect there's a registry tweak will correct this problem, but I went through the whole registry, and although I found several referencers keyboard, I could find no which seemed to control or not activate the main laptop keyboard (though it has been in one of the entries that has been encoded in binary that I couldn't read).  It's possible someone who knows more about the registry will respond to this issue with a proposal to amend (or perhaps another solution).

I hope that one of the solutions I proposed works.  Please post back in all cases we will know whether or not to continue searching for an answer.

    Good luck!
