  Sorry, but it does look like a hardware problem. Sounds like the power supply may be about to blow another fuse. I think you have a short or large scale electric leakage somewhere that prevents charging of the battery and power - it but maybe not enough (yet) to blow another fuse or switch off the LEDs.

  First remove the battery and power connections before you tear things. The first place I would look is around the port of loading where your problems started and hope that it's not deeper in the system where it can cause some MB or more serious damage. Look for the places where the lines of welding on the System Board may be in contact with a screw or a metal on the ground. While you're there, reconnect both ends of all accessible Ribbon (like the video and keyboard) connectors. Also to the HARD drive, modules of memory vivid and all the other connectors for component for good measure.

  Once you have checked everything, and before you have wound all caches and screws, see if you can carefully insert the battery into the receptacle and plug the charger. Don't try to power. You can do this on an insulating surface to avoid the land of naked drivers. The LED light looks like he is in charge? If so, let it continue to charge without trying to power on.
