  Hello there, this is the Prince of the heavenly Crown of Canada here.

  I've been a loyal user of HP consumer level laptop for 2 years.

  It seems that there is a problem with my laptop screen display.

  For my part, this is the first time this kind of problem has occurred.

  For some reason, in my current (well, now its my last) session, my screen became totally blank on me and turned black, as if the laptop was in a sort out of power status, however, the power of the laptop was always and until the issue has suddenly decided to occur before my eyes , I had been using the laptop and was even working on a coding operating... some of you may know me as the creator of the heavenly System.ini Crown Configuration file.

  Apparently, it is a known issue with HP Laptop, and I don't know if HP is actively focusing on the question of setting so that it does not become an inconvenience to other users of HP laptops or buyers.

  Is there a known solution as to how to fix this kind of problem? This is very critical and I was in the middle of the tent to save the rest of my code in Notepad on my desk, but I would speculate that asides from the 2 files I could save, the rest would have gone unless I would be able to resume my last session which I highly doubt at this stage.

  If someone could please let me know as soon as possible, I would appreciate it a lot.

  You need to make a diagnosis.

  If your laptop has a VGA video port, try connecting a monitor to it.

  Have you tried a full stop and restart?  Stop, remove the battery.  Hold the button for 7 seconds.  Now, without the battery, a power.  If this brings a screen, stop it again and re - install the battery and try again.

  Until you can provide more specific information, no one will be able to help you.

  You will have to perhaps look in your BIOS and check the setting on your screen. Also when you plug in your portable computer charger, your screen should brighten up! Find the Sun and a "Fn" key and arrow key. Press them to illuminate the screen too. Worse to come is to replace your screen. Maybe this isn't a problem with xp. There is software you can download from the manufacturer to adjust your screen under xp. Hope that helps. What is the model of your laptop?

  The ability to rotate the screen image is a characteristic of your video
  card, to help work with instructors who turn to the portrait
  orientation. Almost certainly you accidentally pressed Ctrl-Alt, and
  an arrow key.

  Rotate using these keys.

  All of a sudden my screen went dark. I did nothing except restart my computer.

  Suggestions:

  1. go on the website of your computer manufacturer. See if your graphics card driver needs to be updated.

  2. do a system restore. Choose a date where the screen was OK as your restore point.
  Start button > Search box, type system restore > press the Enter key > uac prompt > click on choose a different restore point > next > select dates as your restore point, click
  > Next > finish
  To sit and wait. The machine restarts when it's done.

  3. run a full scan with your security program.

  4 perform a check of the file system of seeking some coruupted files and repair them if possible.

  Start button > Search box type cmd > look up, do a RIGHT click on cmd.exe > click run as
  Administrator > in this window cmd black and white, type at the prompt flashing sfc/scannow > press the ENTER key.
  Note: there is a space between 'sfc' and ' / '.
  To sit and wait. It will take time.
  When finished, exit the cmd window.

  just had a question about my Toshiba Portege R700 as the screen went white and I couldn't see the screen or sometimes I could and it was very dark!

  However, the laptop could start up as normal and I could use it normally through an external display!

  Subsequently, I replaced the screen and it started working again (happy days)!
  However, a few weeks down the line the same problem again apparently did screen dies.

  I take off again and disconnect and reconnect the screen just to see if that would solve the problem and he did, back and working again. I even tried the old screen I swapped and that works too!
  So I paid £140 + for a new screen that I didn't need, my question is what is the problem?

  But laptop computer s display supports a backlight Led FL inverter should not be a problem here

  My Acer Aspire suddenly went dark after 3 years of service. When I press the power button, it turns on. I can hear the roar of fan of tha.   Ok. I took the customer of Acer. They understood that the processor fan, the IO card and the cable of the LCD are bad. But they refused to a maintenance operation saying that the parts are not available. Given that the netbook is only 3 years old, it is regrettable that Acer does not provide its parts more. Nevertheless, I bought all the parts on ebay and it repaired myself. Reason enough for me to not buy another Acer again.

  Have you tried to plug the external monitor? If it is still pink, it may be a malfunction of the graphics card.
