I'm going on a trip and the place where I'm staying is not Wifi. I really need Internet access while I'm there. Can someone give me a recommendation for a portable WiFi for my HP Mini Netbook accessory? Thanks in advance for your time.

So, there are 2 options; a Broadcom, which is not a good piece of hardware and the Intel AC 7265, which is one of the best cards on the market. I am generally sympathetic to your comments and do not understand why the laptop manufacturers save pennies by weak wireless cards cheap computer otherwise good. However, I know that I don't want to live in a world where someone dictates the content of manufactured products. I prefer a world or in a country where there is freedom of choice. You can always do some research and understand what you found before you buy.

I understand that you have a problem with the WiFi on your HP laptop. I will do my best to help you, but first, I wanted to thank you for joining the Forums of HP Support. Here is a list of steps that solve common problems with wireless connectivity.
First of all, we have a step by step guide to guide you through the process of diagnosis here:
Troubleshooting your wireless network and Internet accessA second option is to try the following steps:
Powercycle the network:
1. turn off your laptop.
2. unplug the power to your router.
3. disconnect the power to your modem.
4. wait at least 45 seconds.
5 reconnect the modem and wait for it to come back online.
6 plug in the router and wait for it to come back online.
7. turn on your laptop and test your connection.
Turn off the power to the adapter:
1. open Device Manager. (Win Key + R > type devmgmt.msc > OK)
2. expand the network adapters.
3. right click on the Ethernet adapter / wireless, and then click Properties.
4. click on the power management tab.
5 remove the check mark next to allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.
6. click on OK.
7 test cycle.
Reset the TCP/IP settings on your PC:
1. go to your start screen/menu and type CMD.
2. right-click on the command prompt icon and select run as administrator.
3. in the window that opens type "netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt" without the quotes and press ENTER.
4 restart your PC and test.
It can also help to reset the winsock catalog:
1. go to your start screen/menu and type CMD.
2. right-click on the command prompt icon and select run as administrator.

Reinstall the NIC drivers:
1. download the drivers from here , but do not run them again.
2. go to your Start menu/screen and type Device Manager.

4. right click on the wireless adapter and choose uninstall.
5 install the drivers downloaded in step 1.
6. restart your PC and test.
Test an ethernet connection:
Explicit. Test if the problem persists on a wired connection to the adapter hardware troubleshooting wireless can be directed to the appropriate areas.
Test another connection:
Many people excluded their home network as a problem if another device working on the same network. Networking is not as simple as that. Each device interacts differently with your router or modem and it is impossible to exclude the settings for this device until the laptop has been tested on another network.
If these steps do not resolve the problem, try this document published by Microsoft for network management issues: wired and wireless network problems. I bought a new laptop. I connected to the WiFi network with no problems the first time. I have downloaded Microsoft office 2016 (home and student). The next time I turned on the laptop, the icon WiFi in the corner of the screen says "no connection available.
On the tab "network and internet". There is no tab for WiFi. Initially, I managed to fix it by clicking on the 'network card', 'properties' and on the 'power management' tab, I unchecked the box indicating "allow the computer to turn off this device to save power. So, the problem was finally solved (fingers crossed!).
Yes, the Internet access worked perfectly every time when it is connected through the Ethernet cable. Ultimately I phoned the helpline. They checked for the new driver updates (these have been already updated), restored the BIOS remotely and then restored the device to the factory settings. Start of the fault still took place intermittently. This indicates a hardware problem, and the unit was sent for repair.
The idea was that when the WiFi did not work, the WiFi card wasn't physically visiable in the list of available adapters, nor has the Bluetooth adapter. Apparently in this device, the Bluetooth and WiFi functions are on the same network adapter and apparently those elements should not disappear from the list of available adapters. So the fact that they disappeared together intermittently indicated a hardware problem with the card.
Now that I got my laptop back and I think that the WiFicard has been replaced. Hoping all is well now and I hope this post helps someone else.

I have Windows installed pro 8.1. I was using wifi on this laptop, it worked fine. I use software such as Connectify and MyPublicWifi for some time now in the hotspots, but all of a sudden since yesterday I am not able to connect to the hotspot of my Windows Phone 8.1 device. I tried to connect an Android phone that does not work either. I kept receiving a notification saying "network Wifi did not. Try again later. It seems that its a few problems of the laptop and not devices trying to connect to it.
I tried to restart the laptop several times to uninstall and reinstall software hotspot and even created a gateway using CMD. Even after all this, I get the same message network does not. I checked the network for any material change cards, drivers revealed that they were working properly.
Kindly help me out here. I'm trying to share the internet of Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller.

Check if there's recent updates to windows that has happened since the last time you were able to use the hotspot software.
You can consider using Windows to choose System Restore and restore the operating system of your laptop to a date before the problem started. It is a reversible process, so you will not lose data.
You should also take a look at your firewall settings to make sure that the firewall is to allow incoming and outgoing connections occur.
