Laptop won't turn on. Need files out of old HDD to the new laptop.

I need to know if there is a way to recover my files from my drive hard my laptop broke dv6324 to put on my new laptop G60-230us. I can't turn on my old laptop to recover the files. Is it possible to get them out of my hard drive? Please be clear that I am not known, but used to be a technician in electronics so not afraid to try anything. Thank you.

Hello

Download USB Sata external pregnant for 2.5 " HARD drive. Get your old HDD in it and copy all the files you want on the new HARD drive.

You can buy something like that on a sales site auction or e-store.

I'll give you a few links here, here or here. I recommend buying the model with USB 2.0

If you want to be sure, then everything will work the buy on Newegg.

OK by what you say, I assume you are using the flash component. To the place where you have been searching for that modification of the file, the path to be compared to only have the name of the video instead of the path. I have attached a screenshot.

Hello

1. In Windows Explorer, right-click the file or folder you want to work with.
2. In the context menu, select properties and then in the Properties dialog box, click the Security tab.

3. In the name list box, select the user, contact, computer, or group to which you want to display permissions. If the permissions are grayed out, this means that the permissions are inherited from a parent object.

• In Lightroom, after that I turned my RAW files to DNG can I delete the original files?

In Lightroom 5, after that I turned my RAW files to DNG can I delete the original files? I am fill hard drives at time (or so it seems) and I remember someone once telling me that after I converted my dng files RAW versions, I could delete my original RAW files.

Is this true?

Ideas?

Entry?

Thank you!

Yes, you can remove the original RAW files once convert you them to DNG. The only downside is that if you want to use the software from the manufacturer of the camera for a reason, so key information that can be used by the software manufacturer is deleted in the conversion from RAW to DNG.

• Migration of data from the old platform to the new primary database, need advice.

I have physical standby facility and everything works now.

Next weekend, we will do the actual migration of the old platform to the new environment.

I have several issues of concern.

Migration will go to the primary database. I'll have to remove patterns and inside expdp dmp.

While I do all those, what data base waiting? should I disable it again apply?

What other concerns and precautions I need to take before I have to remove all data from primary school and do a migration?

Thank you in advance.

Hello;

My main concern would be the FRA (assuming you use it).

By doing all that generates a ton of archives, you have to worry about the space on both sides.

I would consider increasing my FRA on both sides.

I would not disable the recovery, but I look very close and be willing to adjust my space as needed.

As long as you don't miss space you should be fine. I had once a backup log files more than 250, and it took about 15 minutes to catch up.

Have a little prepared scripts in advance if you can increase the space or delete archive applied and it should be fine.

I also opened at least two terminals on the primary and Standby. Everyone look at space and the other to execute all what you need to adjust the space.

The rest is common sense, first do the smaller drawing if you have an idea what to expect. Decaying etc. as much as possible.

Best regards

I have a shell script called 'quickcheck.sh' (use a separate but .env file it will send information vital back)

With a little work, you can do this in something that makes it easy to keep an eye on things.

#!/bin/bash
####################################################################
#

if [ "$1" ]
then DBNAME=$1
else
echo "basename $0 : Syntax error : use . quickcheck "
exit 1
fi

#
# Set the Environmental variable for the instance
#
. /u01/app/oracle/dba_tool/env/${DBNAME}.env
#
#

$ORACLE_HOME/bin/sqlplus /nolog <

and then a SQL file called quickaudit:

• Need help to set up FireFox on the new laptop

My last laptop was killed by a virus (don't worry, I'll scan anything onto my new laptop) so I bought a new laptop. I use Puppy Linux to go into my old laptop because the virus screwed up my log in details.

Must who and where are the files I have to use and have firefox as it was on my old laptop, 0 on my new laptop. I grabbed the entire folder of Mozilla FireFox from Program Files and entered in the folder (once I transferred it) and opened the FireFox.exe, but it loads FireFox with no bookmarks, plugins etc.

I want everything that I use for: bookmarks, plugins, styles. I just want that it the same as ut used to be.

Thank you very much in advance
Sam

You are welcome. Just to be clear (and for others who may be reading), you should replace the contents of the new folder profile, such as the file places.sqlite , the folder bookmarkbackups and other files/folders, with the content of the old profile folder. For more information, see recovering data from an old profile .

You asked, How do I check which version of FireFox, I got no load up. I.e. check a file or something with the details of the version in it.

You can open the C:\Program Files (x 86)-Mozilla Firefox folder and right-click on the firefox.exe file, choose Properties, then click the Details tab and it will show you the version of the product and other information.

• Reset used, bad results. ALL copied from old profile to the new file, & FF file now takes 100% of CPU. I can take off safely profile folder?

Audio delayed or does not stop when you run a video. So I used RESET. Lost bookmarks & homepage & ADBLOCK and who knows what else. So I just copied ALL the files from the old profile on my desk in the new found under troubleshooting. Put everything back, but now FF use 100% CPU when running. I'm sure that I messed up by copying everything but little, I freaked out when I saw that I had lost so much. What can delete the current profile safely folder? (Yes, I feel like a fool and I regret just is go with my screws upward, but I really need help with this).

I didn't know how to find your answer to what earlier. In the meantime, I used back once again, & found printed the info that I need to copy ONLY the files that I need between previous & new. (Not done yet). But this time, my favorites return. (YAY! "I have a ton of bookmarks). The CPU usage is now reasonable.

Thank you all for your answers!

Having replaced everything (motherboard, HARD drive) and everything worked as it should I turned my attention to my emails.

• IdeaPad V570 - I need my external USB hard drive to the new drive D

I have all my work files on a hard disk of laptop HD that allows me to share my work between my desktop and my laptop. My portable HD player was named D: drive because of the huge amount of custom templates special and the formulas that I use in my daily work. Unfortunately, the software I'm using is old fashioned so I can not change the drive letter.

Because my old laptop crashed I now have the new IdeaPad V570 so I had to change the drive letters when it dawned on me that the Lenovo D: drive is full of drivers, fingerprints and One - Key recovery software that probably, I can not change the letter of the drive on. What can I do?

As seems to be important, mission critical, in your case I would suggest the following:

After that the creation of a set of records of recovery and backup of your files, if you have not already, go ahead and change the drive letter. I confess that I do not know the V570, but honestly, I can't imagine Lenovo put anything on the D drive which, once removed would affect the functionality of the system.

• Historical files Windows 8 will not recognize the new external hard drive

I just bought a new laptop (Sony Vaio) with Windows 8Pro (System op 64-bit, Intel I7, 1THD). One of the reasons is that I have approached Win8, is I liked the concept of the new 'File History' backup utility I started to use the computer with an ext WD My Guide of the HD and the history of the files seemed to work. Then the drive external hard went wrong and I just bought a new WD My Passport 2 t ext HD. Historical files will not recognize this drive. He keeps asking the old drive. When I attached the new drive and go to the screen "Select drive", it says "no usable drives are detected. Please connect a drive... "I know that the drive is there because I see under 'My computer' and I can copy files to it. But the history of the files do not recognize. WD, I called and they helped me to update drivers and even made a update firmware on the drive, but nothing is done. I tried several fixes suggested in a few links Microsoft 'how file history works... '. «, «What to do if the file history works more...» ", etc, but all without success. The tech also remote BestBuy Geek squad my computer and tried EVERYTHING and could not get it to succeed. BTW, it's not the HD post because put us on another computer to WIN 8 and Hx file found immediately. Tech people thought that it was a deep registry with Win 8 problem and their only suggestion was to reimage my computer with the original recovery disk. But who is going to cost me an arm and a leg.

I'm not very tech savvy, so I know there must be something very simple, I'm do wrong or overlooking and I hope that some dear soul on this forum or someone from Microsoft can give me an idea or two. Thank you very much

I was having this same problem, but then noticed a presentation text easy to miss in the historical files tool that says that the disc "cannot be a part of a library" or something like that. In my case, I had files on my external hard drive that have been included in several libraries... and none that I really used, so I removed the files (and deleted the libraries for good measure). A fast system restart later, and my player does not appear.

I don't know why MS did not propose it again for this thread as the more obvious thing to check, but there you have it. Something simple and quick to check that could save you some frustration.

• Transfer large files from an old computer to a new one

Recently, I bought a computer and I want to transfer large files (ranging from 5 GB to 8 GB) to the new computer of the former, on what they are. I tried to put them on a USB stick 32 GB, but the thing does not accept files greater than 4 GB. I'm really frustrated and I need help to transfer these files.

You can format your USB to allow him to manage larger files. Here's how:

1. Plug the USB on any computer
2. Press +E on the keyboard to open the file Explorer. Go to the 'Computer' or 'This PC' section.
3. Right click on the USB key and choose the Format
4. Choose the NTFS file system type from the menu drop down and use the option "quick format".

* WARNING: All DATA on the USB key will definitely be deleted.* *.

5. Click OK and confirm that you want to erase all data on the USB key.

Once completed, you can then use the USB to transfer your files.
