Large attachment blocking Windows Mail

Someone sent me an email with an attachment of 45 MB, and it seems to be stuck downloading in Windows Mail. Is there a way to stop downloading this message only if the system can go to my other posts?  I went on the e-mail account web related and deleted the message.

In WinMail go to file | Work offline, or if you can not do in WinMail, open IE and click file | Work offline.  Then close and reopen WinMail and then try to receive it again.  If you have deleted the message off the server, WinMail then don't try to download again.  If she still tests, then try to compact and repair the database (see www.oehelp.com/WMUtil/).

  • attachment in Windows Mail pictures show much larger than actual size

    Photos (not word files) attached to emails in Windows mail appear in the text of the e-mail message in my box of mailing or the Inbox, much larger than the actual size of the image.  I would like that they wait until I open the attachment in its appropriate program.

    This is by design, and they are great because they need to be resized before sending.

    The only way to not see the images once the text of the message to read all messages in plain text.

  • room attachment in Windows Mail, divided in packages

    Hi - I have an office 2008 with Vista 7 and Windows Mail. Since June 2012 (7 months ago) every time I send an email attachment, (a single picture of any size or a large Excel file) my computer will send. However... the beneficiary Gets a dozen packages that can not be opened. Frustrating and feel like a 'stupid' sender or a virus problem.

    This situation with my computer has occurred when a neighbor sent me a photo of her phone and I forwarded this photo.

    I have Norton antivurus which is underway. My Windows updates are up to date.

    Thoughts for a solution please?

  • Cannot open or save an attachment in Windows Mail

    Hello

    I can't open or save attachments in Windows Mail. I can see the attachment and highlight it. However, double clicking on it does nothing. Make a click right attachment makes appear an option "save under", but when I try to save it, I get an error message saying, "the command cannot be run."

    I've never had a problem with Window Mail until yesterday. The problem started immediately after agreeing to compact the database of e-mail in Windows Mail. My Outlook in Office 2007 still works fine.

    Now, I've read a few interesting comments on the Web about this issue. The tips are given is a variety of different bugs 'proposed '. To some I've seen:

    1. checking / unchecking option boxes withinin Windows Mail Security (does nothing).

    2. turn off your A / V by sending an e-mail to scanning or uninstalling your antivirus total program (at the same time - nothing has changed).

    3 window mail accounts are corrupt due to antivirus updates installed (I have not deleted my accounts yet, but he can try it tonight).

    4 Microsoft don't support Windows Mail, so install Window Live Mail! (this suggestion from a Microsoft representative real - I think it's very disturbing, because I paid for Windows Mail, which is part of Vista).

    OS - Vista Home Premium (latest drivers and updates)

    Anyway, if anyone has any info on this issue, any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you!

    Hi all

    As I was listing the foregoing, it dawned on me that it was perhaps related to the security settings for the "Internet" zone

    So, I opened IE (8), tools, Internet Options, Security tab.  There, I saw something that I had not seen before, a checkbox titled enable Protected Mode; and it has been verified.

    I've disabled and pressed to apply.  He tells me that my computer is in danger, and I agreed to that.

    The drag-and-drop attachment problem is now fixed.

    I checked IE7, and it doesn't have such a box.  Thus, the check box has been added with IE8, and its default value is checked.

    I hope this is the last time that I visit this thread; But if it gets handed over by magic, I guess that I'll be back.

    How you try to add an attachment?  Try to compose a new message and then drag the file on top of the new message window to attach or use Insert | Attachment.  They both fail?  Make sure that your antivirus software is not interfereing.  See www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3

    You could also try to compact and repair the database of WinMail to see if this has an effect (see www.oehelp.com/WMUtil/).

    See point 1 here: www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#1

    Then locate the antivirus interference (there are a number of antivirus which are not compatible with Windows Mail programs).  See point 3 on the same page: www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#3

    Then try to empty your temporary Internet files of Internet Explorer (Tools |) Internet Options | Delete files).

    Then compact and repair the Windows Mail database (www.oehelp.com/WMUtil/)

    See it if you can save attachments (keep it before opening).  Note (point 3 above) you will need to remove and add your e-mail account, if the antivirus is interfering.

    see if that helps.

  • Update for VISTA Business automatically leads to not being able to open the attachment in Windows Mail

    After an automatic update from Microsoft for VISTA Business on July 16, I now can't open attachments in the reading of e-mail messages in Windows Mail.  An error message indicates that the file is not found.  I have now to save all attachments and open my files before I read attachments.  It's very frustrating.  I had a similar experience, only a couple of weeks where a parameter is passed by an automatic update to VISTA leading to read all the emails being hidden from view.  I had never seen that before and it cost me £40 to get DELL Technical Support to sort for me.  Microsoft should not do this kind of thing are they?  Should I just revert to the original system (I have to pay DELL to do it for me) and just not allow Microsoft Update VISTA more.  I have my own business, no IT support and I want to just use my easy notebook for standard applications.  Nothing complicated.  I can't afford to waste time and money sorting on my laptop when I should run my own business in very difficult times.  Thanks to anyone who can advise me.

    I understand exactly what you're saying.

    Try this with updates to uninstall the problem and change the eo settings you decide what it is installed:

    Click Start > right click on computer > properties > Windows updates down the lower left corner > updates installed in the lower left corner in the next window

    > then click the one that you don't want > uninstall will appear at the top > uninstall it.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    In addition, on the page where you clicked "Installed updates", click on change settings at the top left corner it
    > Change update settings in the next page of AutoUpdate to "check for updates but let me choose etc" > OK ".
    When you take a look at pending updates, you can either download/install them one at the time, namely the update causing you problems.
    > or if you do not need an individual > right-click on > UAC prompt > hide it
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    And if you really need to go back to factory settings, save your self money.

  • Message blocks Windows Mail

    I used Windows Mail with Vista for several years without problem.  Now I have an e-mail that causes the mail close and reopen if I click on it, and every time I hit the send/receive.  There is no error message - any stop and restart.  I can't delete the message because the Mail stops immediately.  How can I get rid of the offending message?  (Yes, I rebooted the machine without success)

  • When you open an attachment in windows mail it seems to take ages to open sometimes up to 5 minutes.

    can you help me

    Hello

    1. What is the format of the attachment?
    2. which browser is installed on the computer?
    3. what anti-virus is installed on the computer?

    Method 1: Temporarily disable anti-virus and see if the problem occurs.
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/disable-antivirus-software

    Method 2: Perform the clean boot and see if the problem resolves.

    To help resolve the error and other messages, you can start Windows Vista by using a minimal set of drivers and startup programs. This type of boot is known as a "clean boot". A clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

    Note: follow step 7 to reset the computer to start as usual after the boot process.
