LaserJet 500 m551

I have problems with the quality of the prints from my printer.

I'm a black streak on each page.  Even on pages that don't have any ink on them.

I replaced the black ink cartridge, but I still having the same problem.

I also replacethe magenta cartridge.

I used the page cleaning several times, and I still have questions.

It looks like the contamination of the intermediate transfer belt.  Can you open the right door and remove the transfer belt to see if there is contamination in the belt causing this line?

In order to remove the transfer belt, follow these steps:

Open the right door Assembly.

Use the blue lever to lower the transfer package.

Enter the small handles on the transfer belt and then pull the ITB out of the product.

If that's the problem, the issue could disappear after printing several pages or transfer belt needs to be replaced.

  • LaserJet 500 m551 no project don't print option on Mac OS x 10.7

We use a range of HP LaserJet 500 m551 color printers in my office and it takes too long for the photos to print. When you print a picture of a Mac OS 10.7 (jpg) images, there is no option to print a "draft" or the low resolution copy. The only option is a 1200 dpi or 3600 which takes several minutes. I have looked in the setting of printer options and don't find paper quality, management of the colors that are not useful for this purpose.

We have the prints in color printing on plain 8.5 "x 11" page, so choose a grey scale or black & white version is not only useful. We need to print these quickly so that our staff can consult the arranged on tables for selection purposes.

All of the Apple software is up to date, and the HP printer driver is up to date also. Most of the photo files are large - 2 MB or more - allowing for high quality printing on a press when selected for our magazine advertising.

When I print the same photo from a PC, I have a version of the project option and begin printing immediately.

By HP support by phone, I was told that it is a limitation of the application or the program and not the printer. That makes sense (iPhoto on the Mac vs. Windows Live Photo on the PC), however, our previous HP LaserJet printer offers a print project option in iPhoto that suggests a limitation of the driver for me.

We will replace the printer by another speeding up the Mac printing unless this can be resolved. Help is appreciated and/or a printer recommended for the Mac.

    Thank you

I have the strange situation of a having one of three Laserjet 500 printers that won't print two-sided, despite the same to the other settings both. I recently updated the firmware on the M551 dn 500 laserjet printer.  I installed the update of the firmware successfully, but I keep is printed with characters on the pages 'trash '.  He randomally prints this way and is not consistent.  I don't have that happen after the upgrade.

I updated the firmware twice in an attempt to erase mistakes without result.

I did the format clean and complete part and I still get the same errors that occur.

I tried the upgrade to the current pcl6 driver as well.

I use windows xp and older windows programs.  This happens in the office software and software autodesk as well.

I am ready to return to the previous update of the firmware if possible.  I had problems with this firmware update so (printer refuses to print after a period of time), but I'm ready to come back just so that I can keep the waste of paper.

  • Color LaserJet 500 M551: printer displays error message: error PCL XL and GE issued WARNING 75

Suddenly, I'm unable to print documents on all HP printers when they used to work perfectly. To print a test page for my work printers, printers print a page saying: "GE publ. WARNING: ' 75 When I try to print a document from the printed page says: "PCL XL error, subsystem: kernel, error IllegalTag operator: Oxba, post: 75. The error varies from printer to printer, but all say error PCL XL.

I tried uninstalling all printers and drivers, the removal of all traces of the drivers in the registry and in the file spool\drivers\x64\3 and then by reinstalling the latest driver on the HP site. I also tried to change the printing preferences. I also tried the universal PCL6, PCL5 and PS drivers. Although it has never been a connection problem or to initiate a print job, I always get the same accurate print of the above errors.

After finding a few other posts of similar problems, the solution is simply to disable to moy. Their new updates randomly intereferes with printing.

  • HP LaserJet 500 color M551 PCL: printer HP LaserJet 500 color M551 PCL6

We had our color HP LaserJet 500 M551 PCL6 for a couple of years.  It has worked very well.  For the last two months, it keeps going offline (depending on the driver on the client PC).  He is in fact under tension and most when he's awake.  I was not able to find all the parameters that will keep online via the network.  I logged into the printer to see if I could find all the parameters.  The only thing I found was to tell him to wake up at 7:00 in the hope that it would help connectivity.  It helped, but it has not cured the problem.  I can ping any of the workstations, but they cannot print on it intermmitantly.  We use the Windows7 PC.

I wonder about the network card in the printer?  I each printer set up a connection direct tcip (as this has always been the freest badly to connect to printers method).

Only two options work most of the time to get the user online to the printer.  One is to turn off the printer and restart it, then most of the PC will recognize.  The other method is to remove the printer from the PC and reinstall the print driver, which works so far.  When re install the printer driver it auto detects the printer, but not as much as usual is discovered in the process.  Usually, I have to tell him that he has a jetdirect card, etc..  He then makes me to find the driver in it have list under HP disc.  It lasts longer that the other HP printers usually do.

    Any ideas would be appreciated.

Your information has led me to the solution (I think).  We use a static IP addressing scheme.  DNS servers had changed so much since this printer has been installed.  I corrected them on the printer and wait that will correct the problem.

  • Is it possible to change the default print on a HP LaserJet 500 printer M551 color tray

    Hello

Is it possible to install the default print to the HP LaserJet 500 color printer tray M551 be impression tray 2 times online and live?

If so, what would be the best way to go to implement?

    Thank you

Hi thanks for taking the time to answer.

In the end, I gave a call to HP support, and they explained to me that the default tray will always be Tray 1 if it is open, and if you add additional bins, one at the bottom will become the default tray.

  • LaserJet 500 color M551: Firmware upgrade - go directly or perform step-upgrade?

I need to update the firmware on my printer (LaserJet 500 color M551). I'm new to support printers and it's the first printer, I need to update firmware on a client.  The firmware is version 2302908_435020. I need to upgrade to 2307851_000057.  There are about 4 or 5 versions between my current version and the latest version.

Anyone know if I can go straight to the latest version or do I need to a stage-setting day?  I don't want to break anything if the versions break problem.

    Thank you.

    As far as I know:

    • Each version of firmware includes usually all fixes in previous versions of incremental firmware.
    • You can get the latest version of the firmware on the HP site - for your printer, it's the 2307851_000057 version you mentioned.

I advise you to download and read the README file for this update of the firmware.

  • HP laserjet 500 color edge to edge M551 / no bleeding / no margin / without borders

I have a HP laserjet 500 color m551 but I can't figure out if I can print borderless or not.

I found a setting in the called edge to edge printer which is turned off by default. I allowed him, but yet all of the prints have borders.

I can't seem to find settings in print drivers (CLJ_M551_sw_win_driver - installer_13284.exe) where I can check without borders or edge to edge or something like that.

I am running windows enterprise 10 and downloaded the latest PCL6 driver 21 November.

    any help would be appreciated.

The real reason for the design is the fuser unit.  Since the paper width is 8.5 inches, there must be 'play' on each side of the fuser unit and toner to reach the edges of each leaf would contaminate the edges of the path of the fuser unit and the wire time cause jams or other image quality problems.  However if the user had to buy a large format color printer laser that handles paper up to 12 x 18, bleed will be possible on paper up to 11 x 17.  Letter-size paper will allow bleed because it feeds using the side of 11 inches from the leading edge.  Also inkjet printers will bleed because unlike toner for LaserJet inkjet printers use a liquid ink which dries and does not heat to join the book.  Some inkjet printers use heat to dry the ink faster, but it of a different technology and won't cause problems with bleed.

  • LaserJet 500 color M551 PCL6 - Toner level error

I love my LaserJet 500 color M551 but I'm having a problem with the black toner level.  I went to spend the night to have a level of about 50-60% to 10%.  Literally from one day to the next.  I had just checked the levels during the night and the next day the black toner was low.  My use is very light.  According to the page using the number for the monochrome is 1 668.  Total is listed at 3 487.  According to the supplies Status Page 3 543 pages were printed with black and 2 154 ink with the 3, various tonic color.  The only chance 3 543 a to be healthy is if black was included in all color prints so total use of black toner without color would be in the area of 1,400 pages.   There is no way we printed 3 543 black pages and more 2 154 color pages.  We had this printer at 14 months.  We get a new pack of 500 pages about every 2 to 3 months.  At the absolute most, we printed 3 500 pages total.  Most of our impression is heavier on the color.  In fact, we have done a large number of color prints full page.  But given the way we print color is about where we might expect.  And when the black toner showed the 50-60% it was where we expected.

So what happened? Why our drop of toner level to 10 percent from one day to the next?  I tried the cat with the support, but they did lose one hour of my time and absolutely nothing accomplished.  The service was terribly slow that it was as if a person has worked 3 or 4 cats at the same time.  So I tried it and vain.  The support representative suggested that I swap cartridges.  I don't have a spare those for Exchange.  It made absolutely no sense to me to buy a cartridge of 160-$180 if he could sit on a shelf for a year while waiting to get used.  I certainly don't want to buy and open a new toner cartridge just to know, nothing was wrong with the other.   So the line of background here is... someone has suggestions?  How will I know what is the real level of toner?  Is there a way to reset the levels?

Better yet. Someone has this model of printer and a black toner empty known cardtridge?  If yes do you know the exact weight of a cartridge empty in ounces? I also want to compare this to the full weight of this model cartridge at 100%.  If I had these two weight I would be able to calculate the exact amount of toner remaining.

Here, any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have a simple solution to your problem: just keep printing.  There was problems with the guarantee of toner system where there are sudden jumps in reported toner level, like what comes to live.  Unfortunately, we do not have a foolproof system for reporting levels of toner, and there is no method for re - calculate and declare a correct level in your cartridge.  Toner templates does not rise, they count only down.  When you eventually replace the cartridge, it will start again at 100%.

The good news is that you have not suddenly lost all life of the cartridge, it looks just like that.  Your printer will continue printing normally, and the toner level be at 10% for a long time.  When the black cartridge is in fact less than 10%, the pledge starts counting down again.  I'm sorry to see this problem coming up for visitors, but it does.  There is nothing wrong, except the black toner level reported.  I know this isn't a great answer, but it is the best I have.   I'm glad you like your printer - try to ignore the level of toner for awhile.

    Best regards

What you need is a NVRAM or a Super NVRAM. Both will do the job for the same problem: initialization of memory NVRAM ATTENTION: all HP Jetdirect settings are also reset. Don't forget to print a Setup page before you perform initialization of the NVRAM. Make a note of the IP address that is listed on the Jetdirect configuration page. You must restore the IP address after a the NVRAM initialization. A the NVRAM initialization erases all data stored in the sections not protected from NVRAM. Perform initialization of the NVRAM resets the settings and the following information: ● all menu settings are reset to the factory default values. ● all location settings, such as language and national and regional, are reset to zero. After a the NVRAM initialization, reconfigure all computers that print to this product so that the computer can recognize the product. 1. turn off the product. 2 models of touch control panel: press and hold the lower quadrant right of the touch screen. Keep the depressed quadrant that you turn on the product. 3. when the Permanent storage Init. message appears on the screen, release the buttons. 4. when the product has completed the NVRAM initialization, it returns to the ready state. Super super initializing NVRAM NONVOLATILE initialization A restores the product for "generic" mode, in which you get at the factory. This means that you need to reset the language settings and country, when the product starts after initialization. A super NVRAM initialization erases all the data stored in the NVRAM protected and unprotected sections. 1. turn off the product. 2. press and hold the lower left quadrant of the touch screen. Keep the depressed quadrant that you turn on the product. 3. when the Permanent storage Init. message appears on the screen, release the buttons. 4 the super NVRAM initialization is completed, the product is in generic product mode.

  • HP LaserJet 500 M525DN: HP LaserJet 500 M525DN

We are considering purchasing the HP LaserJet 500 M525DN Copier. Before you buy this Copier, I was wondering if there is a way to change the option to print double-sided (standard) to the single page of copies. I know that the user could make this change for each print job, but I'm lookng to see if this can be reversed duplexing to single copy as the default for all 10 computers assigned to this Copier.

    Thank you for the information.

It is definitely something that you can set in the default settings for this printer. You can learn more about the default options of the user manual here, page 98.
