LaserJet M3035xs MFP Scan because of the network folder

Hello. I had a question about the scan to network folder option on our M3035. At the same time, I had this put option in place and works very well with all our Windows 7 computers. The hard drive in the Copier has failed and had to be replaced that erased all our settings. I used the wizard to add folders to the copier to scan network and even though files test ok at installing any of my test scans are appearing in the record. I was getting an error in a first time on it is not unable to check access I went into the settings using the IP address and added my credentials in this way. After this step, I was able to scan, but nothing appears in the record. HP wants $1,000 to get out because we are no longer under warranty.  Any assistance that you can offer is greatly appreciated!

Sharon

Thank you for responding. My Info was valid and set up the same way it was before. I decided to take a different route and put all the files on the server through the server to scan and save. That seems to work for now.

The printer is wireless to my router and I connect to a computer connected to the router with an ethernet cable.  The computer is running Windows 7SP1 Home Premium 64.

During the original installation of the printer 3 days ago, I used the wizard set up 'scan to a network folder' a record 'scans public '.  He created the 'profile' correctly and worked well the first time I scanned (I scanned the 3 or 4 times with different tweaks to experiment).  However the next day it no longer worked error on the printer was, 'could not connect to \\Computername\Public scan. Check that the remote computer is on. "Obviously, the computer was on, some communication problems only happened from one day to the next day, he was sitting unattended.  Hmmmmm.  Note that the option "Scan to Computer" works very well, so communication is simply no "scan to network folder" option and I really want to scan to a network folder.

I went in a private "Scans" folder on my account and created a share as 'DadsScans', creating permissions and following all the tips I've come across so far.  Then I tried many times with the wizard to create a new configuration in the profile and all have failed and yes I found the network and turned on file sharing.  Also remember that it worked fine the first night?

I tried to enter the local path to the folder (C:\users\dad\My analysis) with a share name (DadsScans), but the error message after choosing the option "test and save" was, "error.  Your printer cannot connect to the server.  Press 'Back' to correct the address and the name of the server.  Setting is not saved. »

I then tried to enter the share name directly in the path of the network folder, like "\\computername\DadsScans", but the error was "error.  Your printer cannot connect to the server.  Press 'Back' to correct the address and the name of the server.  Make sure that network discovery and file sharing are turned on... "Note, I also tried,"\\computer Address\DadsScans IP"and got the same error.

Finally, I disabled my firewall and my anti-virus in real time and tried again and got the same error messages.

Once again, my network discovery and file sharing are on and it worked fine the first time I've used suggesting that everything was fine.  What happened during the night, so that the printer and computer sitting idle?  I've changed NOTHING!  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

  • Does not include the network folder in the document library

I'm a network administrator.  I created a %username\documents for all users folder and apply the necessary security.  For most users, I make this folder available offline, and I'm able to include in their document library.

For the last two users I did this, but failed to include the folder in the Documents, the error that it is not indexed.  On the server, the drive and the subfolders are all able to be indexed in the settings.  The file is properly sync to the computer.  But I still get the error that the file is not indexed.
I have disabled the sync on the computer, has added the formatdatabase reg key to restart the computer, turned on files offline, set the folder resynchronization, complete synchronization, still cannot add to the document library.
Then, in case there was a kind of corruption of the files on the server, I deleted the network folder, disabled the files offline on your PC, erased the cache of offline files, created a new documents folder on the server with the correct permissions, activated files offline, synchronize the empty file to the PC and tried to add the new folder of network document to the document library on the PC.  Failed because the empty folder is not indexed.  Once again.
    Any ideas?

    The fixed.

I needed to turn on the Windows search function to make it work.  You can synchronize files without it, but needs apparently indexing Windows Search to work.  Which is weird, because the Windows Search service can be disabled and it still works.
I rode on a group policy to disable windows search service because people are complaining about their PC slows down during the reindex operation.  This did not affect the ability to synchronize the network drives or to include them in the libraries.
On both machines on which I had the problem Windows search had been uninstalled programs and features (which is not really uninstall it, only it hides in Windows features.)
Conclusion: OK to disable windows search service, do not uninstall or disable the function.
  • two computers on a network (wireless) but three show upward in the network folder

I have a Dell Inspiron under Vista x 64 (server) and a Dell Vostro, computer laptop, running on Vista x 86 (client) and a printer (USB Server) network associated with a Cisco WRT400N... everything works fine. However, in the network folder, on computer, I get an icon for a third computer. When it is explored it looks exactly like my server... but it has its own unique name... and I have only the above two networked computers. I worked with a Cisco service representative yesterday to ensure that all goes well with my router. I don't know I've caused this... now... can someone tell me how to UN-cause it?

    Hi runslong,

It is possible that computers on the same network can be duplicate themselves.

I suggest that you disable the discovery of the network on the computer and later get back, check if it works.

    To turn off network discovery
    a. open the network and sharing Center by clicking the Start button, clicking Control Panel, click network and Internet, click network and sharing Center.
    b. click turn off network discovery, and then click apply. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    Enable or disable network discovery
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/enable-or-disable-network-discovery

If the previous step fails, then I suggest that you unplug all the devices connected to the network and then reconfigure the new network, check if it works.

    I hope this helps!

    Hello @JljoThomas!

Thanks for posting and welcome to the Forums of HP!

I understand that you have a problem of activation of the functionality of web services on your MFP HP LaserJet Pro M277n. I'd love to help you with this.

First of all, you have the printer connected directly to a wall outlet or is a surge protector or power bar? Even if you have used a surge protector/power bar this whole time and you feel that this is not the case, please connect to a wall outlet so that we can eliminate the source of energy as the primary cause. Issues when connected to an uninterruptible power supply/Strip/surge protector power
In this document you will see, QUESTION: questions or problems may arise when a HP LaserJet printer is connected to a UPS (UPS), a power strip or a surge protector
↑ This is not limited to the Laserjet printers.

If this does not resolve the issue, we are going to let the router and unplug the power cable (NOTE: do not reset the router...), then do the same with the printer and shut down the computer. After a minute, plug in the router, wait to fully turn on, then plug the printer back in and wait for the wireless light become solid. Once the router and the printer are on, go ahead and re - turn on the computer. This will refresh the network connection.

If you are still unable to connect to web services after trying these steps, we can try to set a manual DNS server of your printer to connect to.

On the front panel of the printer, press the wireless icon. Select it wireless TO get the wireless summary. Do not your IP address.

    1. on your computer, open a Web browser and enter the IP address of the printer in the address bar. This will bring up the embedded Web server (EWS) page.

    2. at the top of the page, select Networking.

    3. in the left side, select Identification network.

    4. in article for DNS, under primary (IPv4) enter 8.8.8.8, under secondary (IPv4) enter 8.8.4.4.

    5. Select Apply at the bottom of the screen.

    6. try to activate the web services again.

If it is still unable to connect, try to enter 209.244.0.3 for the primary (IPv4) and 209.244.0.4 for secondary (IPv4)

    Hope this helps!

  • Multi-page scan to e-mail/network folder on dish (Color LaserJet MFP Pro 476dw)

For scanning for send/network folder flat, sweeping setting failed to single page.  There is no option to set the scan multi-page either on the MFP or embedded web server page.  Any suggestions?  There will be a patch/update software?  Thank you.

You can scan multiple pages of a scan from the tray by choosing settings first.

The icon Touch scan-> scan-to - network-> choose the folder-> Touch 'Settings' which is at the bottom left of this window.

At this point, you can change the file type, resolution, scan source, etc.

Click 'Scan Source'-> 'flat' touch-> Touch "several pages".

Then, you just press scan after the loading of your pages on the flat.  Good luck.

  • HP Color LaserJet M477fnw MFP: Scan to computer button disappeared

Hello, I saw similar comments of the same issue, but none with a solution.  The closest is this: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/LaserJet-Printing/How-to-fix-missing-quot-scan-to-computer-quot-touchsc...

Problem: We have a new printer that we have Setup.  During the installation process, on the touch screen, provided the message to "Scan to Computer".  We used the option to make sure it worked and took part in the computer we wanted.  We restarted the printer, and the option is now missing!  The option "Scan to Computer" has completely disappeared.  Where it was once a touchscreen button / option, no longer exists.

Printer: HP Color LaserJet M477fnw MFP

    OS: Mac OS X 10.8.xx

I downloaded the firmware update, but that doesn't work either.  I tried using the verification of updates of the touch screen of the printer, it can never connect.  I connected to the internet, I connected directly on a hard line, still no connection.  I literally just bought this printer yesterday, with a 2-year service plan, drove an hour to the next closest store that had it in stock and it gives me nothing else problems.

I have unplugged and waited a minute.

I've uninstalled and reinstalled the printer and the software from my computer.

    I'm out of ideas.

    Hello @gfrd3489

If you talked about scanning to the icon post from work or option after pressing the icon of the scan on the printer itself that one has been dropped by HP since she had so many questions with that like on some devices will only scan flat and not of ADF.

If you notice you still have other options such as scanning to USB key, scan to e-mail or scan in network on the printer folder of are next to the HP scanning app on the PC for windows and mac

Devices most recent are not supposed to have this option on the first place and the firmware and normal updates which will remove devices more alumni who have it

There were a few M477 which were sold to vendors when it first came out which was which, but as soon as he gets the first update will be deleted

    hope that clarifies the question

I get an error Scan on the screen 30.01.16 Code, have searched online and this indicates that the scanner ADF need of recalibration.

Normally the 30.01.16 error code will remain on the screen, but if I take off the cable behind the scanner it-displayed meaning I can access the control panel and enter the menu etc.

I tried to re - calibrate the, but it doesn't seem to work, someone has another idea about what it takes to solve this problem.

    Hahaha...

Be sure to save the configuration when you do something.

    Well, the solutions were:

    (1) printer tour

    (2) remove trainer card and unplug the hard drive

    (3) re - connect trainer Board and open the ADF tray, printer

    4) go to Services, then calibration width ADF and calibrate as on-screen instructions.

    (5) DON'T FORGET TO SAVE THE SETTINGS.

    (6) turn on the printer and remove trainer card and reconnect the hard drive.

    (7) once who did everything turn on the printer again, and everything should work without an error.

Note: If you get the error when the cable step 3/4 remove scanner then plug back in.

    Fixed and working again.
